Weezer's Raditude
Moonlight_Graham replied to alex_madf3rit's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Never been a big Weezer fan until Red Album. Never gave them much of a chance before, never actually listened to one of their full albums until Red Album, but i liked a bunch of the songs from Red Album. Cold Dark World is a fucking killer track. I should give this new album a spin. -
Seen 3 lately: Drag Me To Hell - Pretty good horror flick. Sam Raimi's Evil Dead style is all over this, though not as classicially horrific as the Evil Dead movies, but tons of hilarious and freaky original gross-out scenes Raimi-style No Country For Old Men - finally decided to pop this one in. Great fucking movie. Very smart. Original. Great pacing and characters, and kept me interested the whole way through. The final scene ends oddly, but also kind of neat. There Will be Blood - again, finally decided to watch this one. A well-made but odd movie, which i guess sums up Paul Thomas Anderson's films to a "T". I found it kind of draggy. The pacing was quite slow, sometimes painstakingly, but this added a lot of subtlety to the scenes. Definitely not as entertaining as No Country.

It's all precautionary. And it's all mostly B.S. The H1N1 isn't going to be some widespread death-flu. It's not the black plague. It's not even SARS. It's just a severe form of the flu, and the media has jumped all over it. Unless you're in a high risk group there's little to worry about. Doctors on TV said it can't mutate any more unless it gets back into an animal, mutates, then goes back to humans, which at this point they say is insanely unlikely. They also said it won't mutate while within humans. Just wash your hands you'll all be fine. fuck.

I think its isn't THAT rare. I've got the booklet version too. I bought the CD around the time it came out. What seems most logical that happened was that if you bought it near the time it came out during the first period of print runs of the CD u got the booklet, and maybe after the CD had been out awhile they just changed to the current version to save money.

Fought To Fight It: What Do The Lyrics Mean?
Moonlight_Graham replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Matthew Good
Exactly. In a blog post about Afghanistan years back before he wrote Silent Army, Matt used an example of how war is glorified in the west by saying he as a kid would play in the forest behind his house w/ toy guns pretending to be heroes, yet his grandfather (who fought in WWII i believe) would tell him growing up how they weren't really heroes, that they were just doing what they had to do.
