  1. heroes, ziggy... diamond dogs is pretty ace.
  2. thnx guy. lolz i don't get what there's to be impressed about. it's just funny. not impressively funny. i don't think that's possible.
  3. old news. but i'm looking forward to the puscifer album. what are you people groaning about?
  4. very cool idea. i'm not going to pre-order it though. i'll download the album first, and if i like it, i'll buy it. do they let you pick the bitrate of your downloaded copy? whats the deal?
  5. do you still listen to it? i can't understand why people would subject themselves to music that they describe as merely "passable."
  6. not really halloweeny. if i were to put some sabbath on, i'd pick "black sabbath" because it's at least somewhat creepy. does anyone know of some super cheesy halloween songs? i heard mc hammer had a halloween song. no rocky horror picture show theme suggestions, please. yeah, it's for a mix cd. i'm trying to make it a little unconventional, hence no rocky horror picture show. i didn't think of beck. good call. thanks for the load of suggestions. i was definitely thinking siouxsie, but more along the lines of "night shift " or "spellbound." i think i'll have the most luck if i kinda explore what goth rock has to offer. i kinda know my way around, with bands like siouxsie, bauhaus, love and rockets, the birthday party, etc. but not too sure about bands like the cure or the damned... so i'm not too sure what they might be able to offer.
  7. yeah, i was going to put that one on, or "all hell breaks loose" or maybe even "skulls".
  8. a torrent website that's invite-only. you have to keep up a sharing good ratio and not just DL like crazy and then delete the torrents, or you get booted.
  9. i'm making a halloween mix and would like some second opinions. i'm using a lot of stuff from the 80s goth rock category to get this done, but was wondering if any of you peeps had any halloween favourites that you think i should include?
  10. it isn't too hard to maintain your ratio. download popular things and let them seed like crazy. mine usually sticks around 0.40, which isn't the greatest, but it keeps me around. my girlfriend has a ratio of 1.5 or something stupid.
  11. except for making the songs louder, what exactly does he change?
  12. blaqk audio - "girls and boys" there are very few cases where making an exact copy of a song is excusable, fake gothic posturing or not. this song does not fall into that category. fuck davey havok. fuck afi. fuck hot topic.
  13. i think those are very apt names; they suit the bands very well. of course, out of context they're silly names. i remember reading about QOTSA's name decision. kings of the stone age sounded far too masculine. the addition of "queens" makes it a little more feminine, or at least makes for an interesting juxtaposition. i think it also shows the dual nature to the band. they're committed to sounding very abrasive and heavy, while at the same time, want to be sexy and cool. as far as i know, tool have always been very elusive about their name, but i just think it meshes with their sense of humour quite a bit. i think it's hilarious to see a person walk by with a tool shirt on, because a lot of them are just that. similarly, people familiar with the band will be very aware of how maynard's lyrics always seem sortof geared towards several meanings. now obviously anyone's lyrics can be interpreted in any number of ways, but his seem as though they're written with this sort of 'loaded' quality, that they always push me to making at least two conclusions about what's going on in the lyrics of the song. usually those conclusions are complimentary. 'the pot' for example, alludes to the saying 'the pot calling the kettle black'; hypocrisy, as well as also alluding to marijuana, and people who blame their actions on a substance, as opposed to taking responsibility; hypocrites. their name functions in the same way. i think my chemical romance is a stupid name, because it isn't subtle in the least.
