  1. you can find them all over the internet. the title track is something that you should check out in particular, because it's fucking awesome. i think i've got them all if not most of them. so i'll be able to post them up here to save everyone buying the re-release. although it is remastered, so if you're into that sort of thing, then maybe you'd be better off buying it.
  2. Icky Thump sorry for the delay, my computer is crunkt.
  3. the new single sounds a lot different than what i'm used to hearing from them.
  4. i've listened to it once, but i wasn't always in the same room... so my first impression maybe be a little skewed. it strikes me as though they tried to blend what they had with in your honor with their older material (hence the reintroduction of producer gil norton). at times they sound like they're the foo fighters doing bruce springsteen or tom petty & the heartbreakers covers. like someone else had said, they don't sound like they're growing. they have a new aesthetic, but that aesthetic is classic rock. what made in your honor so good was that it was incredibly sequenced. that statement might sound like hyperbole, especially considering all they did was put the loud songs on one disk and all the quiet on another, but it really helped emphasize their strengths. now, this new album has them trying to pull the quiet-loud song structure off again, almost as though the last album never happened. but this is the conclusion i've come to after one listen. more to come, when i give it a few more listens.
  5. i have the veils' most recent release, but i'm away for the weekend. if you can wait until sunday eve, i'll have nux vomica to you in no time... unless someone else has it. great, great album.
  6. i know 311 have. tori amos. and maybe snake river conspiracy. a perfect circle have done a sort of version of it, by combining it with ozzy osbourne's "diary of a madman". those are the only ones i know off the bat.
  7. nothing against sunset rubdown, but how do you know if you haven't listened to it yet?

  9. i quite like it. it's hard to compare to the rest of their stuff at this point, but it's cool.
  10. word. twitch city was a damn good show. also, callum keith rennie rules. i'd say that slings and arrows is a good show, but given your tastes, you might not like it. billable hours, too, although it's essentially a canadian version of "the office." i highly, highly recommend ready or not. or degrassi!
  11. CCCRRAAAAAAWWWWWLLLLIIIIINNNNNGGGG IIIIINNNN MMMMMYYYY SSSSKKKKIIIIIIINNNNN
  12. props. i didn't watch the vmas. i heard the foos had a hotel suite or something like that? i tried to watch the clips of it on mtv.com, but you need to be within the united states to do that for some reason... who hosted the show?
  13. for the longest while, it was "just like you imagined" by some band. now it's "lateralus" by le tool.
  14. like this "ppppppgggggggghhhhhhhh&&&&&&&&" or like piano magic, i guess. go look them up. i'm sure your ears will do them more justice than anyone's explanation.
  15. what an awesome title. i like oceansize, they remind me of cave-in. downloading!
  16. i've met melissa mcclelland, the dudes from death from above 1979 on several occasions, and the closest i've ever come to meeting matt good was when he played georgian college in 04' or '05, i can't remember when. he was eating pizza in the student lounge with the band, and we were separated by a pane of glass.
  17. they might be for dan only, but i took them anyways. thanks!
  18. word. rprznt. throughout high school and into my first few years of university i bothered myself with the question of god's existence, as a lot of our identities are shaped around that belief... and that age is usually the time when most people go through a significant kind of identity crisis. now i've come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter and i don't really care. there could be a god, there might not be one. it could have a great influence on my life, and it might not. i can't prove it, nor can i deny it. so there's no point in spending any time concerning myself with it. i'm surprised there weren't more responses along the lines of "i'm not religious, i'm spiritual." lolz
  19. def "the boy come home." i would love to hear "i am not safer than a bank" though.
  20. hooray for poor sequencing!! you know the album is killer when the bonus tracks are better than what made the actual cut. i got one step closer to listening to the album the other day, until i read the track listing. now it's one step closer to the recycle bin.
