  1. i, along with meg, question the importance of this statement. even if he was, what place have morals ever had in music? in a more specific sense, why should i care? he left his first wife and child for yoko ono... i could judge him, but it isn't my place, nor should it be used as an argument against his music...
  2. damn. if it's a fake then i definitely dodged a bullet there. this thread should be pinned, because it's never going to die. i don't think we're ever going to have a resolution to this. it's like if we were to have a good vs. evil thread.
  3. how has this thread made it to seven pages and not been moved to the music section? if i had the power to, i would. anyways... anything by simple plan. anything by the rapper known as t-pain. anything by linkin park. although, like other shitty they're fun to sing along to and make fun of. they take the cake for the "lyrics worse than trent reznor's" award. i can't remember who said it, but someone said hedley don't write good songs, but they're good live. i'm incredibly confused by that. even if they have "energy" or are "funny" how does that make their show then good? or enjoyable? i mean, i go to music shows for music... and if the songs blow... well... then... yeah. finally, whoever said "blur song 2" must have no concept of irony.
  4. hey! i was going to post that! did i say that to you before? i can't remember.
  5. he seems to be a decent singer. so it'll be interesting to see where the project goes, and more importantly, what people come on the road with him.
  6. musically, yes... i agree. but his life? his life story? does it really interest you that much??? props to eric. strength in numbers.
  7. the dillinger escape plan - when acting as a particle
  8. i wouldn't know what to say if i did meet him, so i never encourage such a thing happening.
  9. i try to finish the books i start, but being an english MA student, it isn't uncommon for me to not finish a book.
  10. honestly, who would want to make a film about one of the most boring frontmen of all time?? he was epileptic, was in a band, wrote very sad song and killed himself while watching werner herzog. big deal!!! his bandmates are a helluva lot more interesting, and there's a lot more to tell about them too!!
  11. as far as i know, billy does all the instruments aside from drums. that duty obviously goes to josh freese, the notorious one man orgy. it does sound a lot like APC. i've got nothing against it for sounding that way, though. the first APC record was pretty much all billy's writing anyways, aside from the lyrics. billy has a good voice. it didnt seem that way on the emotive record, really. although it was difficult to discern who was singing at times, so i guess that's good?
  12. i hate house music. lolz. TV on the Radio - Young Liars EP a taste of something awesome. The Wooden Sky - When Lost at Sea canadian folk-country stuff. wicked live.
  13. mine is always set to: "vvvvvvv vvvvvvvv"
  14. sendspace keeps making my firefox explode... or else i'd be all over that verlaine.
  15. my pleasure. it's nice to see someone actually respond to the topic, out of the 32 views, haha.
  16. "lalalalala" = well written? the blonde one was hot and had a decent voice. that's all i cared about.
  17. breakfast club. ;) don't yooou forget about meeee  wow... they were really on people's lists, still? eeeee. is tears for fears on that list too? flock of seagulls, perhaps?
  18. i'm surprised simply because he's going after fans... a group of people that isn't growing in size any time soon. PUUURRRRPPPPLLLLLE RAAAIN PUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRPPPPLLLLLLLEEEEE RAAAAIIIIN
  19. the first taste of billy howerdel's (a perfect circle) new project "ashes divide" can be heard here: http://myspace.com/ashesdivide it's not bad. very cure-ish, like 13th step was.
  20. yes you willllll. you know you want to! i love the spice girls.
  21. can't get shot in the back has run its course. if its on an EP, it's filler. it's had its chance to be released twice now. no dice.
  22. it's okay. it's better than i thought it would be. the humor is strange, because clearly he's joking around, but it just doesn't seem all that funny. just superficial. i was surprised at how consistent it sounds, though. you'd think with all the people involved with the project, that it'd be a horrible mess of music. at its worst, it sounds like emotive. at its best, it's a very different place for ol' MJK to be going. i like it. not as piss poor as some other solo releases that came out this year. coughcoughchriscornellcoughcough
  23. was definitely a solid show. i liked his interaction with the crowd in guelph better, but he seemed very grateful toward the toronto audience, which is a first, haha. mongrels. if any of you the board ers were screaming "we love you matt" or "ladies and gentlemen, matthew good" ,"play indestructible" or anything else retarded, you should be banned. p.s. i hope someone recorded the show. his performance of "fated" was fan-fucking-tastic.
  24. not to my knowledge. oink seems to be the biggest. a site thats comparable in size, but doesn't require membership would be the pirate bay. and i mention it because it's an interesting case where they were told to shut down by authorities, they did, and apparently within a month or so, they were back up and running. so who knows what's in store for oink.
