  1. that does sound kindof gay but i agree, that song is one of the better ones off that album.
  2. i really like friday morning's regret... although i cant find their album anywhere. not even on OiNK.
  3. 5,818 on my playlist. that does not include what music i have waiting in other folders, such as recent downloads or just bands i havent given enough of a listen to yet.
  4. SHIT! that was one of the songs i liked! now it will forever be the fonzie song!
  5. the rolling stones blorl i like grinderman.
  6. the second album from bowie's berlin era, "heroes", is probably his most accessible out of the three. i think this one outdoes low in some respects (robert fripp guesting on guitar being one), but the two are pretty evenly matched as far as content and attention to detail are concerned. give it a whirl. http://www.sendspace.com/file/krp8yu
  7. if sendspace doesn't keep failing me, i intend on uploading bowie's "heroes". i just thought id post this so no one beat me to it and all my waiting would be for nothing.
  8. bookmarked and in my bookmark toolbar on firefox.
  9. where the heck is the live drumming? i distinctly remember interviews with trent where he knocked processed beats because they were too cold sounding. most embarrassing moment of year zero thus far: " You should Get where you belong Everything you know is wrong Come on, sing along everybody now" its on par with that moment on the beside you in time DVD when trent tries to get the audience really involved and into the song by making them clap and saying "c'mon" or whatever.
  10. after my first listen, i pretty much feel the same. not that it sucks so much but the fact that nothing was memorable. but i can see why you'd make that correlation. it seems like he's going along with the "same shit, different colour" kind of formula... where he's stuck with the same kind of song structures, shitty lyrics, etc. and is trying to make up for it with lots of noise. the fact that the album is marketed as such is an indicator of that to me. some parts rock really hard, but they're all pretty predictable. it's like he's replaced the ambiance and strings from the fragile with a wall of noise, which has a similar, filler/atmospheric effect. what pisses me off about it so much is how predictable the melodies all are. i could hum the fucking song in my head never having heard it before. aside from the songs that were "leaked" weeks ago, not a whole lot on this album interested me. no "beside you in time" this time around...
  11. i just got their album... solely based on that "atlas" song. fucking hell what a cool song. i think a few people here might like it.
  12. i downloaded it last nizzle... im just listenning to it now for the first time. pretty cool.
  13. its entertaining, to say the least. you can't possibly think that she's taking herself seriously. i dont know what everyone is worried about. i'd be more worried about the fact that this is her second cover in a row.
  14. michael jackson! prince. but he makes up for it by having sexy lyrics.
  15. what about !!!, those guys are badass. and i agree with brando, shearwater are hella better. but props to meg for starting this thread anyways. okkervil river are damn good.
  16. morrissey. jeordie white aka twiggy ramirez
  17. thanks for this, im excited to give it a listen. hypermagic mountain is the only album i have, and it's golden.
  18. My girlfriend and I were pretty constrained on time, so I was terrified we wouldn't make it in time for Zozobra. We walked in and they were already onstage, and Caleb Scofield was saying, "Thanks. We're Zozobra...." So I was thinking we'd missed most of their set. Anyrate, they went into Soon to Follow, which made me damned fucking happy. They went on to play The Blessing, Levitate, Kill & Crush and Caldera (Which was incredible) - I think they might've played Invisible Wolves too, but I can't completely recall. So I guess we missed, maybe, a song or two. But yeah, they did a great job. They definitely have a more raw live sound. Some of the vocal harmonies on the album seemed a bit too clean, so it was nice to hear a bit more roughshod vocalizing from the other guys in the band. Plus, the guitars were a bit higher in the mix. So yeah, they pretty much kicked ass. as jealous as that makes me, im happy that they were so good. hopefully they come back.
  19. i wish i could have gone to that show. the new jesu record is greatness. how was zozobra? i love those guys too.
  20. i'd say so. during the tip/the greyest of blue skies era, they were good for the sort of band they were. specifically on the latter of the two efforts, where they played a lot with different textures and atmospheres and things like that. they were good at being a "dark" kind of band. i dont think they wanted to be pigeon-holed in that genre forever, so they changed their sound, which meant that they started sounding like they did when they were a band of a different name: "rainbow butt monkeys". its amazing how theyve come full circle. they might still fit into a "mediocre" catagory though, as i would never place them on the same level as some of my favourite bands. but i think that they had potential at a time... now they just stink.
  21. nail on the head. i hate how he sounds like the dude from disturbed now. it seems as though scott never had his own distinct vocal style... first he was copying raine maida, and then that shithead from disturbed. awesome.
  22. haaha i knew it. tickets are 32 dollars, too so i'll most likely be paying a dollar for each minute of their performance. that's kind of lame but you know i'm going to do it. of course. but i dont see a problem in forking over $32 for against me. would you stay for mastodon's set?
  23. sorry. thought it was new news so i didn't look. and, yeah, i've never checked out any of his solo projects from after bizkit (like big dumb face), but i think i'll give this one a listen. i was excited when, before he re-joined limp bizkit for that EP they made, he was with his brother and some other drummer dude... in a project called eat the day. i have some song clips of theirs, and i liked where it was going. too bad it never came to fruition, much like satty said.
