yeah. if he's good enough for saul williams, he's good enough for me. but i cant really picture him as being brought into the fold for his vocal abilities. it'd be cool, but i dont know, something tells me that they didnt go that route. although i think your guess is probably the most realistic to date. it could possibly be tunde adebimpe from TVOTR, now that would be bitchin. -
The Killers New Album

i'm glad more people are starting to realize their asstacular qualities. had this topic been posted last year, it would've been a different story. -
you know how lately with movies, a lot of them are remakes? two nights ago, i dreamt that i was in a video store and found an original version of "happy feet". done with real penguins. don't ask me why. i haven't even seen "happy feet," and the fact that it exists kindof angers me... so i found it all very confusing... but funny at the same time.

The Killers New Album
borntohula replied to ham_ahoy's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
my friends drove me home from sudbury once (4 hour drive) and during that time, they played me "sam's town" as well as two dane cook live albums. needless to say, i almost didn't make it. as soundless space mentionned, nothing stands out on the killers album. it's all so glossy and pretty, but has very little substance to it. and that whole fucking "welcome to sam's town we hope you enjoy your stay" bullshit is so ridiculous.... trying to pass their garbage off as though it has some sort of unifying concept throughout... right. i've heard people say that bands like tool or the mars volta are pretentious, but when compared to this, it's a complete misnomer. -

any guesses as to who the guest vocalist(s) will be? i doubt it will be saul williams. ive had my fill of peter murphy, so i hope it's not him. although i quite enjoy his yelling voice. maybe a lady perhaps? i wouldnt even know who to think of. -
props to anton for the new banner!! although, i was under the impression that the orange square was the prophet muhammed...

as far as the album is concerned, i look forward to the fact that it will be noisy. but then again, he also said with teeth was going to be like ten punches to the face, which it most certainly was not. -

as far as i know, nothing records doesn't exist anymore. the red tape satty was talking about in reference to closure, most likely has to do with john malm jr., trent's ex-manager and co-partner in the nothing label. trent sued him for fraud and other things like that. the reason "nothing" still appears on with teeth is purely for vanity purposes. -

new project from mr. damon albarn, featurring a great line-up of musicians... unlike the gorillaz where it's more a revolving door of collaborators and damon, the good the bad and the queen seem to be a real bonafide band-- and it shows. also in the band is paul simonon, former bassist of the clash; simon tong, who is from the verve, and was also the touring guitarist for think tank-era blur; and africa 70 drummer tony allen... who has been name dropped in a blur song, actually. during "music is my radar", damon sings: "tony allen dancing"... anyway. you can goto their website for tonnes of info on the project, which has a release planned for january 2007. also, head to their myspace to hear three songs of theirs... all of which are pretty damn good. http://thegoodthebadandthequeen.com/ and http://www.myspace.com/thegoodthebadandthequeen

i'd probably get tool's lateralus, first. that one means a lot sentimentally, and sortof represents my shift from liking really vaccuous types of music to stuff that means a lot more when it comes to one's noggin. i would probably shit my pants though if i woke up and everything was gone/deleted.
