Maple Music said the vinyl would start shipping October 25th. It's October 26th now, and I haven't received any notifications about any shipment. Order history page also still says it hasn't been prepared for shipment yet...and I've waited for the digital download all month as that only comes with the vinyl...kinda got burned buying the vinyl and not the CD. Oh well.

Thanks for the insights, Matt. It does make me better appreciate the acoustic shows you've been able to swing down in the US over the past 7 or 8 years. Any word on the next single from the album? Do you get to choose it? Do you care?

Billy Corgan started some strange concept album by releasing one song at a time, once a month. He cited the death of the album and the way single song sales have skyrocketed as reasons why it didn't make sense to produce and sell a traditional album anymore. He started out on track with his original plan, releasing a new song each month. Eventually the time in between releases got longer, the songs got weirder, and then he just ended up making a full album again anyway, and another one since that. Not sure what that really proves, but that's what Matt's post reminded me of.

Been out for a couple of years, but I recently beat The Last of Us for the first time. It was fantastic. I wish I didn't die so much. The sequences are way more satisfying when you make it through without being detected or dying - and I usually don't like stealthy style gameplay.

I've heavily debated flying up from NYC to Toronto, but I have yet to buy a ticket to one of the 3 shows there...and I kind of don't want to spend the money on a weekend trip right now (my gf would be coming with me). I dunno...blah.

Got a response today from Maple Music. The digital download card is included with the physical vinyl. So we will have to wait until the end of October for the vinyl to arrive to download all of the digital files. Bummer. Reminds me of when I ordered LOES. I had to wait like an extra month or more because there was a postal strike in Canada or something! It was brutal.

I just listened to the Army of Lions and Cold Water demos to see what all the hubbub is about. Really don't get the fascination with these demos. Album versions are far superior, complete visions. Frankly I would have been disappointed if the album sounded anything like these demos. To each their own though. I do agree that the tracklist a little disjointed, but perhaps the theme really is just "chaos". One more thought. Cold Water has some of my favorite lyrics he's ever written, I think. Very unique.

So far no response from Maple Music since Friday. I'm starting to think I won't receive the digital download card until the vinyl actually arrives, which won't be until the end of October. Lame.

Oh I know what they meant. I get it. There's been demos I thought were better in the past, like Black Helicopter and Fought to Fight it, but I wouldn't say any of the recent demos are better than the finished products on Chaotic Neutral. I really think people just gotta stop spoiling the album by listening to the demos too much. They're asking to be disappointed because something will always change in the translation in the studio.

I put in an inquiry to Maple Music regarding a digital download of the full album for those that pre-ordered the vinyl. I usually bought the CD in the past so this was never an issue before, but now the album came out on Friday and I only have the 4 songs that they sent us prior to release in digital for my iPod. Kind of annoyed/frustrated. I assume they don't answer questions over the weekend so I'm hoping to get some clarification tomorrow.

Having the same problem. I pre-ordered the vinyl and was under the impression the album would be available in full for me digitally to download. So far only see those 4 songs.

Cloudbusting turned out really great. It makes me wish he would have recorded the Hurt duet in the studio.

I don't know how you can say it lost something in the studio when the quality is better. You guys gotta maybe spin the demos less in anticipation of the albums.

There's actually a few songs on here that could be great singles. More than usual. Kinda wondering why they went with AYSAD first but it's all good.

I just listened to the album on the MG.com stream for the first time. I had heard a few of the demos but only listened a little bit. Didn't get too attached so I didn't get "demoitis". Pardon my French, but that album is fuckin' awesome.

I've been listening to Girls in Black a lot the past week. I'm trying to hold off on the other tracks to maintain some element of surprise.

I'm gonna try to fly up to Toronto or Montreal. Toronto is probably better timing for me...that first week of December. Flights from NYC to Toronto that weekend are under $220 at the moment. Probably wouldn't do VIP experience. Not because it's not cool, but I just don't want to invest a whole ton into this considering already having to pay for a flight.

If Toronto is after November 7th (work issues) I will make an attempt to fly up. I doubt a (full band) US tour is coming.

Like GiB even more after some more listens. Vocals are great.

Living in New York, I've always ordered Matt Good albums from Maple Music, probably since Avalanche. And yup, their website is exactly the same.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm just kind of torn because I would like the signed CD, but I don't even actually play CD's anymore. I also don't have a vinyl player but I plan to get one and I feel like I'd at least be more likely to use the vinyl in the future -_-
