I should have bought the Arrows vinyl. Maybe I'll check ebay at some point. -

Is it a trick? Is anything secretly there? -

Yeah...I have to agree. It's a major bummer...especially since it's one of the best MG songs ever. Another oddity is that the Hospital Music vinyl kinda chops up the Firebird/Safer Than A Bank/I'm A Window trio so they don't run together as they were originally intended. I think Firebird is the last song on one side and then you flip over for the remainder of the album. Just an observation. -

I think the Nothing item is one of the postcards that came with an album or some other order from Maple Music. I have 3 different 4x6 postcards that came with one of my orders at least 5 or 6 years ago. Don't remember which order. -

Must have been a "we're sorry" gift for the vinyl being so late. Received my 3 re-issues today. Still waiting on Chaotic Neutral but that's OK. I'm pretty disappointed that Omissions of the Omen was left off LOTGA though, particularly since the entire back of the second disc is just blank. I suppose they couldn't fit it on the front and then some kind of money-saving issue came into play where they said "well if we put the one song on the back of this disc it'll cost X whereas if we leave it off you save X." And they probably decided to leave it off. That's just my guess though. -

Good points ^ Living in NYC I actually had the US version of Beautiful Midnight first. I didn't know it wasn't the actual original tracklist for a while. When I heard the Canadian versions of some of the tracks I could tell they were mixed differently. Specifically: Deep Six, Everything is Automatic, Hello Time Bomb, Load Me Up, Strange Days Also I just think its funny I'm gonna end up with the reissued vinyls BEFORE the Chaotic Neutral vinyl arrives. -

Thought it was interesting that the vinyls were released last week, but my email says they won't ship til about January 25th...so about the same time as the Chaotic Neutral vinyl I pre-ordered back in August  Looks like I'll be getting 4 sweet vinyls soon. Also for the record I mentioned a couple months ago that I didn't own a turntable. Well, now I do :) Been slowly collecting some of my favorite records since I got the table...expensive hobby. -

Bought 3 vinyls from the MatthewGood.org store (LOTGA, BM, HM)...tried to use my one credit card and it was declined for some reason. Switched to my second card and it went through. Both banks contacted me within 10 minutes to make sure it wasn't a fraudulent charge :fp: I guess because it was a purchase from a small store in a different country. -

I held off. I'll order from either Amazon.ca or Matt Good's site I think. -
Is it the second single? Was there even a second single? I wouldn't know down here in the US, but I've been curious.

Nice. Thanks for pointing this out! I'm really not looking to spend a shit ton of money right now...so if I had to choose which ones out of these I would get...they would be LOTGA, Beautiful Midnight, and Hospital Music. I never had the emotional attachment to Underdogs that I do to the others I listed. Raygun is cool but I could live without it. -

$48 each on Amazon USA. Pretty steep. If I don't buy them now, will I be able to buy them later? I fear they'll go out of stock at some point and then not keep getting pressed. -
I love everything on Last of the Ghetto Astronauts. It reminds me of college...I used to listen to it a lot back then...including Every Name is My Name!
-
I don't think there's a song I outright dislike, but there's several songs on WLR&RR that I'll skip when I'm shuffling.
-
Unless you plan on moving into Massey Hall or something. That might be interesting.

Thanks for the post Matt Good! I enjoyed the new album very much, but was sad to not be able to attend any of the shows on the tour. I had planned to, but the girlfriend got laid off and I decided it wouldn't be a good time to spend a lot of money on a trip to Toronto - even if I went by myself. Hopefully I'll make the next tour, or better yet one of those hypothetical shows you discussed in your post. You're always welcome to come to NYC and do a one off show again of course! Maybe next time not at the oddity that is Joe's Pub (where you said you felt like a stripper on stage!). I'm particularly excited about the prospect of you playing some more of the older/obscure tracks from the past. I know that has been easier to do with the acoustic tours over the last few years (stuff like Fine Art and Fated and Minimum Safe Distance making it into setlists), but to hear other stuff in full band again would be great. Anyway thanks for the music. I've been listening since 2000 when I was 15 years old. Your music has been a big part of my life, has influenced my own original music, and has helped me through many tough times. I only hope you keep making more awesome music in the years to come. And by more awesome music I mean please just record 'Something Like A Storm' and 'Bad Pennies' and throw them on the most badass EP ever. - Joe S NYC

Sooo for someone living in the US where do you think is an optimal place to buy a backlog vinyl that isn't Maple Music?
-
lol what a mess...they really handled this poorly (in terms of not shipping out CD's first as well as not providing a digital download right when the album was first released).
-
I do agree that if you're at the front you're pretty much guaranteed to have a good time without having to worry about the crowd. I usually only get to the front if I'm alone though. Usually when I'm meeting someone to go to the show or bring my gf it's pretty hard to convince them to arrive early, stand in line longer, and stand in front for everything including opening act. And you don't have many opportunities to leave that spot to go to the bathroom or something like that. You really have to commit.
-
I decided not to fly up for any shows...so if anyone has the opportunity to create a bootleg...you know... ;)
-
Yep I also received that email. I can wait for the vinyl...all I want is the digital download -_-
-
Yeah no sign of it yet. It's weird, when I ordered Arrows of Desire (autographed CD) from Maple Music a couple years ago my order history page said the item was not prepared for shipping, yet the CD arrived on the day the album was officially released. It was weird and I wasn't expecting it at all. I really have no idea what their deal is but I would classify their service as very inconsistent over the years.
-
uhhhhhhhhhhhh :|
-
Yeah I can wait on the vinyl itself and I totally understand the challenges associated with that...but there should have been a better system in place for the digital download. I don't blame Matt Good of course...this is on Maple Music. It is what it is.
