  1. Brett, it's great to see you're doing something so special in tribute to your friend "sodamntired" ... Unfortunately I did not really interact with him at all and can't offer any specific comment about him. But as I said earlier in the thread, we all share a bond in the way of a love of music, and of course Matt Good's music, and so a loss like his is felt by all of us. I'm around the same age too so I understand how someone like him passing away makes you take a step back and go "whoa...mortality." I hope others on the board are more helpful than I.
  2. Upcoming: The Tallest Man On Earth - September 21st in Brooklyn Pinegrove - December 6th in Manhattan
  3. Good point. Thanks!
  4. Great insight, Matt. Thanks! In terms of obscure tracks, do you plan on just throwing darts at songs pinned up on a bulletin board? How does Matt Good sit down and pick the obscure songs he wants to play?
  5. Matt hates the early MGB stuff, but I doubt he hates stuff like Arrows. I think the reason why some of those songs haven't made it into recent setlists is for reasons other people have mentioned, that the band members rotate and they would need to learn the songs, and that some of the songs were harder to play live. I'm sure one or two of them will resurface eventually.
  6. I looked at the artist's website and saw a lot of pieces for sale, but not necessarily the one on the LOES album cover. I wonder why prints of that one would not be available for purchase but many others would be.
  7. Great setlist. Wish I could have seen it live.
  8. I love this version. I was singing it all day yesterday...in addition to Decades :D
  9. Hey that clip of Load Me Up at Danforth had to be from the night I was there! It was Saturday March 11th. As far as I know that was the only one they filmed. I could be wrong. Either way awesome!
  10. Cool thanks. I don't use any of those other streaming services, so I'll use this until I can figure out a way to download it legit in the US.
  11. Matthew Good 3 mins · Warner Music Canada is turning 50! In celebration I’ve covered Big Wreck's “Blown Wide Open” on the new compilation EP ‘Covered In Gold 5.0 - http://bit.ly/MGbwo https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/covered-in-gold-5-0-side-a/id1265230769?app=itunes&ign-mpt=uo%3D4 --- ------------------- Wow I've always loved this song. This is such a great suprise. ...except it's not available in the US iTunes store and I'm not sure how to download it :( ... The Google Play link is also not working for me. Anybody have any insight into this for international fans?

    New Album 2017

I liked Decades when I heard it in the encore at the Saturday night Toronto show in March. Can't wait to see the full tracklist.
  13. Yeah so, Feist last night was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I saw her in 2011 for the Metals tour which was great, but this blew that out of the water. Plus I somehow got to sit 4th row center. She is just an amazing live performer. She's extremely talented, funny, and just amazing. I am swooning.
  14. Saw Eric Johnson on Wednesday. Got to hear Cliffs of Dover live after listening to it since I was a kid. It was magic. Definitely one of my top 5 favorite songs ever. He is an incredible guitarist. Feist coming up on June 10th.
  15. Weird to see Matt Good as not the headliner.

    New Album 2017

Hmm Any word on other song names?
  17. You know it's funny. I recently made an iTunes playlist of my top 10 favorite songs of all time. There were some songs that were very obvious to me. But there is no clear Matthew Good choice. Matt Good is if not my most listened to artist (between him solo and the band) then my second most listened to, so you would figure one of his songs would be in my top 10 of all time. But I found myself picking at least 8 or 9 easily before any Matt Good. I have Fearless right now teetering on 10 or 11 simply because it's got the most plays in my library, but in my heart I wouldn't consider it a top 10 all time song! Or even my top MG song! It's really strange. I could probably make a top 10 MG playlist, but I still wouldn't know what to rank first.....I might lean toward either The Fine Art of Falling Apart or Non Populus. I don't fuckin' know. lol.

    New Album 2017

I've listened to a few of the clips but I don't want to spoil too much of the album. I would rather listen as fresh as possible. Sidenote I have lost faith that he recorded Something Like A Storm. At one point earlier this year or late last year he said he wanted to record it but not a peep or sample since. Kind of a bummer if he ditched it. From the first time I heard it I thought it was the most interesting and best thing he's done in a long time.
  19. I convinced my fiance to go to Toronto for the Beautiful Midnight tour which was great, but flying up to Canada again for a fall or winter tour again so soon might be pushing it. Maybe I can sell it to her if I push for a different city. Ottawa?
  20. Got tickets for Feist June 10th. 4th row center :D
  21. Is there anything cool to do in Halifax? I've always wanted to visit just based on the name alone. I don't know why. lol.
  22. Only ticket I have for an upcoming show right now is Ryan Adams on May 3rd at the Beacon Theater. Last saw him in 2014. Didn't get a great seat but at least I got a ticket to a show at all. It seemed way harder to get this time around than 2014. The first two shows he played in NY back in February sold out in like a nanosecond and then people jacked up the price on Stubhub.
  23. I don't really want to read that deeply into the way Matthew Good "looks" or "seems" on stage or in old videos. I also certainly can't comment on past crowds, although I was expecting it to be more ruckus on Saturday night I guess. Seemed a little tamer to me, as someone who has heard about rowdy crowds at his shows for years from people on The Bored. But anyway, I don't know what my crowd observation tells me in regards to Matt's demeanor. I just know I had a great time.
  24. Attached my four best pics from last night. Awesome show and I'm so happy that I flew up to see it. Very memorable. I brought my fiancé and she saw Matt once with me but that was acoustic. This was only the second time seeing him full band for me and I can't belive it was to see Beautiful Midnight! Also funny to think I was among so many Bored members. I thought Matt and the band sounded great. His guitar cut out for like 15 seconds during one of the early songs (I think Load Me Up?) Also it's awesome when he goes into the crowd I just wish he would have come over once to our side! We were in the second row of people in front on the right (west) side of the venue. They didn't have any vinyls at merch so I got a pin. Canadian money is so weird to me. Lol. Briefly how we made this work. Flew in yesterday (day of show) and stayed near King West neighborhood. Walked around the shops on Queen St which was fun. Had Poutini House of Poutine after the show. It was pretty fuckin cold all day but I guess Canadians are used to it. But it reminded me of the coldest days in New York. Today and tomorrow some sightseeing and return home Monday night. I feel so lucky to have pulled this off. Now can I convince my fiancé to do it again next year!? Also attached photo of us at the venue after the show ended.
  25. Wondering this as well. Any insight from those who have gone to previous Danforth performance?
