  1. Matt said something the other day on Twitter about being treated in the hospital. Anybody know what this was about? I guess he is ok if he performed last night? Sorry if I missed someone answering this already.
  2. Does Toronto have Uber? Made my hotel accommodations for Saturday and i'm nowhere near the venue but more centrally located I guess. So I'd rather take a car over there than futz around with a train system I don't know. Though being from NYC I could probably figure it out :p
  3. I've only ever made one successful bootleg. It was Matt's one-off acoustic show at Joe's Pub in NYC a couple of years ago. I think I shared it on the NF Lounge once. I used to film more videos for Youtube during his shows but at some point I decided I just didn't want to go to the trouble anymore and I would just enjoy the shows in the moment. The Joe's Pub show was unique in that I had a seat right near the stage (the venue was weird as fuck. Matt even commented that he felt like he was a stripper on stage) and I could position my Zoom Mic in such a way that it was not in the way and not noticeable. But thanks to anyone else who goes to the trouble of recording bootlegs!
  4. Thanks for the info. I remember "Yonge" from my last visit. I think we did walk through that area, but it's been so long I'd be happy to go back there. Funny you mention Little Greece. The area of NYC that I live in has the biggest Greek population in the world outside of Greece. I have a great souvlaki food truck right around the corner from my apartment.
  5. I dunno guys, I have never been to a show where there was a fight or a sick person. Or even a really, really terrible drunk person that ruined everything. Like ever. Yet I seem to read a lot about it on this board. lol. Do Canadians just party harder?
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. I might see if there's a Maple Leafs game one of those nights. I should also mention that I did hit up the Eaton Center during my previous visit, which was interesting. Also of interest: the strip clubs right across the street from the biggest mall in Toronto. It was surprising to me because being from New York the zoning is such that those establishments are in desolate areas, not in the heart of heavy foot traffic family areas. Know what I'm sayin? This isn't a complaint, just an observation. I'm big into breweries so the "Distillery District" sounds cool :)
  7. I'm planning to be in Toronto for the show on March 11th. I'm thinking a long weekend trip. Not sure where to stay. Can anybody shed light on the area that the Danforth venue is in? What is the neighborhood like? Any recommendations for a long weekend in general? I went to Toronto 10 years ago when I was 21 and we didn't do much over the 3 days we were there. We went up to the top of the CN Tower, but the rest of the time was basically spent drinking in a hotel. I reiterate that I was 21 at the time :innocent:
  8. Ah I did call it! Revisited versions! Well actually if he was going to play any of the original versions Load Me Up is probably the one he had to play original. Couldn't get away with that one with some of the more casual fans who are probably coming. All in all can't wait til next month.
  9. If you check out Matt's latest Instagram photo, you'll see Beautiful Midnight in a list along with what guitar (if applicable) will be used for the song on the upcoming tour. You'll notice that I Miss New Wave and Born To Kill are both listed as acoustic. I think this kinda supports the notion that the "Revisited" versions of those 5 songs will be played...except maybe Load Me Up (that is listed as "SG"). This had been debated either earlier in this thread or in another thread. Just thought I'd point this out.
  10. It's good music but it obviously means more if you're a fan. I don't know if I would necessarily recommend it for you. Maybe just uh, attend at your own risk? :p
  11. Soooooo this is a bit different. I'm seeing Nobuo Uematsu and the Distant Worlds Philharmonic Orchestra on January 28th in Newark, NJ. Uematsu, of course, was the longtime composer for the Final Fantasy video game series. They will be playing an evening of Final Fantasy tunes. I missed my opportunity to see this in Brooklyn 5 years ago and they do not come around often. Looking forward to it!
  12. I still can't get over the fact that they left off Omissions of the Omen. That is an egregious error. Not sure how it could have happened. Kinda ruined the whole purchase for me.
  13. I Miss New Wave and Born to Kill sound the best. Repeated those multiple times.
  14. I opted to skip the CD upgrade. Was there any mention anywhere of vinyls of the EP being sold on the tour? If so I missed it.
  15. I noticed the mistakes in the labeling as well when I downloaded the files. Weird. Haven't listened yet and may not get to until my commute tomorrow, but definitely looking forward to it.
  16. So here's something to spin the thread around: What would be your 5 song encore on this tour if you could choose? In order if possible. And be reasonable, don't pick songs he literally never plays. Champions of Nothing A Silent Army in the Trees Cold Water Non Populus Prime Time Deliverance (ok maybe this is a stretch  )
  17. The only song that I'd really love to hear the original of is Suburbia. I did hear Load Me Up live at a show in 2010. I guess the original Born to Kill would be awesome too. But the others were sung by Matt at a different time in his life. He has changed as a vocalist. So the updated versions will probably be easier for him to pull off on stage during a long tour. Totally fine with me.
  18. Yeah I agree with this. It just wouldn't make sense to record new versions and then not play them.
  19. I could see casual old fans from the 90's being super confused when he's playing Load Me Up mega slow. Born to Kill sounds the best. Not sure about Suburbia yet.
  20. I didn't see any mention of the EP or CD upgrade in the ticketmaster form. I assumed I'd just get an email after the fact.
  21. Just got myself two GA tickets to the Toronto show on March 11th. Pumped! Haven't been to Canada in over 10 years. This should be awesome. Currently planning to make it a fun long weekend. I didn't bother with VIP. I'm fine with the standard experience. Plus I'll already have to pay for airfare and hotel. Two GA tickets including fees and snail mail printed tickets ran me about $134 USD.
  22. Thanks for the info emmit. I think I'm gonna try to secure 2 tickets in either Toronto or Montreal and then work out all the logistics later. If my girlfriend can't come, I'll have a ticket to sell. If she can come, great. But I will get the tickets either way to make sure I see this. I've missed the last like 3 tours for LOES, Arrows, and CN so I don't want to miss this.
  23. Ah ok. I just opted into the emails earlier. Thanks!
  24. I haven't seen an MG show since he did a one off acoustic set in NYC a couple years ago. And I haven't seen full band since 2010. Never seen him in Canada. I think the Toronto and Montreal dates would work for me logistically and geographically. Will try to make that happen. Anybody have any notion of how to take advantage of the pre-sale on Tuesday? Is there a password or code available anywhere?
  25. Great to hear some Matt Good again.
