  1. I think music videos this time around will help the album. Videos in general have made a big comeback with Youtube/Vimeo and their relevance in promoting an artist, I feel, is stronger than ever. All it takes is a few shares of a link and a song can, within a few days, reach hundreds of thousands, even millions of viewers that previously may have never even heard of Matt Good. Not saying it'll definitely happen, but like I said I think it's great that a couple of videos will be produced.
  2. Nothing from LOES. Interesting.
  3. I generally avoid reading Matt's commentary on politics and world events. I don't want it to affect the way in which I enjoy his music. That said, the event in which he's commentating on was truly terrible. Very sad...
  4. I believe he called it shit, not crap
  5. Forgot to mention that the end of the Load Me Up video is pretty cool because Matt dropped his pick and then hands it to the guy next to me after one final strum. Very cool.

  7. Thanks man...that is really truly appreciated. It's funny, I was going through a little bit of a phase here where I was lacking confidence in my abilities, but you've certainly helped me snap out of that funk with your comments. Something about those tracks, those were all recorded between 2005 and 2009. I've got a lot more, but they are of varying quality. Darling has gotten people's attention in the past...and something about that song, I recorded the vocals and piano at the same time (back in 2005 at the tender age of 20). Added the reverb and additional sounds later. I could never nail it like that again. But yeah, that song's basically about me at the time, a guy learning how to deal with relationships and dating, getting dumped by someone special. The way that song sounds is pretty much how I felt at the time. Ah young love, or something. I'm looking to record more material soon, and when I do I'll be sure to post it on the other creative board. As for the vids, I will watch later when I get home. I have some other songs that this person did not capture.
  8. I'd consider traveling too, but I'd be much more likely to travel for a full band show. Are you originally from NY? When I tell people I grew up in Queens they act like I'm a martian. I liked "Is This What You Had In Mind". I actually liked the song about her landlord the most. I can't find the name of that one, maybe it's one of her new songs. I think one of the lines was "How low do you want to go"
  9. Haha so that was you! Sorry the peeps on The Bored didn't coordinate, would have liked to say hello to some of you. But anyway, you were over on the left side of the stage towards the front. I was on the other side up against the stage. I was making sure to soak it all in despite taking videos. I've developed a steadier hand so I don't have to watch the concert through a screen. And for the record, LOTGA is one of my favorite albums and She's Got A New Disguise has always been one of my favorite songs. The first time I met him I asked him why he hated that song so much. He didn't say it was shit, but pretty sure he said that it's just so far in the past and he's over it, basically. Oh and when he was talking about joke songs I wanted to yell out Bad Pennies really bad, but I restrained myself.
  10. I feel awful this morning. Mostly because the show last night was the late show and I didn't get home til around 2AM. Had to sleep in an extra hour and I'm going in late to work...lol First of all I have never heard Matt talk that much in between songs. That must be a new record. He most likely was thinking he didn't give a shit anymore and was just going out the way he wanted. The crowd enjoyed it all for the most part. Here's the set. Don't think I missed any but let me know if I did... New York City -- Mercury Lounge Born Losers Strange Days Avalanche While We Were Hunting Rabbits 99% Of Us Is Failure Suburbia Load Me Up Advertising On Police Cars The Fine Art of Falling Apart Metal Airplanes How It Goes Apparitions Alert Status Red So Long Mrs. Smith Fated Ommissions Of The Omen Generation X-Wing For Fine Art, Matt was like fuck it and jumped down into the middle of a packed house and sang it unplugged. Everyone circled around him. I was near the stage so I couldn't get near him there or see him at all, but other people had videos of it so I'll look out for those. I did get a lot of videos (full songs) so I will have to look through them later today. He sounded good for being sick for weeks. Glad he could go on with the show. One thing I will say is the venue was intimate and cool, but there was literally no backstage so Lance was to the side of the stage tuning guitars in the middle of quiet parts of songs, which was a little distracting especially during 99%. Overall a great night. I wonder how much of that setlist was written down or planned. I feel like he had 5 songs in mind going in and then played whatever. Also the opening act, Emily Green, was pretty cool. Glad to see a NY native up on stage.
  11. Great videos Krista. Thanks.
  12. As long as people are engaged in the show I don't mind a little noise from the crowd, but those that completely disregard the person on stage are indeed asinine. The NY shows I've been to have all been overall respectful, except for someone belching extremely loud at a quiet part of Avalanche. That was awful.
  13. Yeesh...just a few more shows left. Hope he can make it.
  14. Well, if for some reason my girlfriend bails on me that night (which is entirely possible) I'll send you a message on here RE: my second ticket. Don't rely on that, but you never know.
  15. I dunno, sounds like a little more trouble than it's worth. I probably wouldn't want to go to a show that bad to have to use Craigslist, but if it works for you then who am I to argue? Chip, any response from Matt Good?
  16. Craigslist is the last place I'd buy an event ticket. I wouldn't worry about how much the other guy will profit. Matt already made the money on the ticket. But it's up to you, you know what you can handle. Did you go to any of the recent NY shows?
  17. Great set, but I see he's started to leave off Ommissions of the Omen. I'm hoping for that one in New York. chipchipperson, sorry you couldn't get a ticket. I am happy to hear that the show sold so well though...did you check maybe stubhub.com?
  18. He's been in pj's every time I've met him on the tour bus. Nothing wrong with that of course *is typing this in pj's* I do hope he recovers soon too. He does get sick often, but then I'm sure his schedule is weird too in terms of sleep so that might have something to do with it.
  19. Thanks for posting that. Very nice video.
  20. That's an awesome set!
  21. She was an extremely talented singer. I wouldn't say I listened to her music all the time, but I appreciate a truly great voice. It is very sad how she died.
  22. I dunno man, the acoustic show I saw in Buffalo in October '07 was pretty fucking intense and great and that wasn't being recorded. He was so on that night, and he played a really long set. Look it up on youtube. Club Infinity - Buffalo 10/5/07 North American For Life I'm A Window 99% Of Us Is Failure Born Losers Avalanche Strange Days Load Me Up A Silent Army in the Trees Black Helicopter Alert Status Red She's In It For The Money In A World Called Catastrophe Generation X-Wing Prime Time Deliverance Metal Airplanes Apparitions Girl Wedged Under The Front Of A Firebird Champions Of Nothing Suburbia Pledge of Allegiance The Fine Art of Falling Apart
  23. Holy shit. That's amazing. Obviously he won't go that long on stage in the states, but the setlist alone has made me excited (although I think I've heard Avalanche at every show I've been to). Looks like he figured out his Rabbits acoustic version. Am amazed by Omissions of the Omen...Running For Home acoustic? This is all very cool.
  24. Will definitely interested in seeing a setlist posted soon after
  25. Was happy to hear Fine Art of Falling Apart! It's one of my favorites. I was expecting a longer interview I think, but it was still cool. You can tell how happy he is talking about his kids.
