Actually we couldn't send our NHLers to the Olympics and the Russians withheld most of their players from the NHL so they could own the sports. Anyways I still hope Canada wins on Monday, I think the sport has shown that has now already proved it's not a two way sport. However, if the Finns were to win the bronze that would help a little more too...

Well Canada's Women's team beat Finland 6-0 today, so it will be Canada vs the Swedes in the finals.

So, I was listening to truANT by them last night for the first time in awhile, and it got me wondering what happened to them. So I did some searching and found there myspace website with some new tracks on it, apparently the third album is complete or is about to be. I have no clue when the album will be released, but here's the link to their myspace page. The new songs sound pretty good too.

Why does every band have to be political anyways? That shouldn't be the measure of a band, because being political by no way makes you good... Back on topic again, I'm surprised how close this is...

Sorry to rag on you here Jarrod, but David Usher didn't have all that much to do with Moist's songwriting, most of that was done by Jeff Pearce (Bass Player), and part of the reason one of his albums sounded similar was because Jeff Pearce co-wrote it...

Finland did really well yesterday, they lost it towards the end of the game, but they were not expected to give the U.S. too much trouble period.

Ryan Dahle writes better Limblifter songs than AoE ones, though apparently him and Todd Kerns are writing together again... Anyways some of my favourites are Limblifter Air Traffic Control/Madhat Broken Social Scene Holly McNarland Moist Rye Any Craig Northey project etc.

I heard one American player said we were scoring too many goals on purpose. Of course if we have the same record as say the team in the finals then home ice advantage is decided based on goals for and against...

Anyone been following the U.S. vs Finns game today? The Finns are leading 3-1 in the second, so if they win our Women's team will play the U.S. women's team in the semi-final, not the final.

It wasn't really research, I've just always been interested in the Olympics, and into hockey so I've looked into both in the past.

The first Winter Olympic sport was hockey, it pre-dates the Winter Olympics even, in 1920, Canada won it at the summer games, then when the Winter Olympics were created and first run in 1924, Canada won it again, and again. Even when the Brits beat us in 1936, they did it with Canadian players who also happened to have British citizenships. At least with Women's hockey there's two contenders, where as with Men's when it first started there was only one. Also on The Hour yesterday George Stombo even said the highest scoring hockey game at the Olympics was by the Men's Canadian team against Denmark and it was somewhere in the forties to nothing and it was done sometime in the forties... So, while these are big wins there far shy of the men's record.

Linkin Park aren't all that bad, they're not great, but they're an alright band. They're mash-up album with Jay-Z was pretty cool too.

They replay the show like crazy... But it's not very good though, because the people really annoy me for some reason...

So, Canada's womens' hockey team so far has a total score of 28-0 in only two games.

It has a slow start, but once it gets going I think it gets pretty good.
