Probably back in about September...

I really enjoy BSS, but I know a lot of people seem to love The Arcade Fire, and they both kind have sound similar, so I decided to ask the question who's better...

I think Paul Bettany would be an excellent choice since the Joker is meant to be witty, and any movie I've seen him be witty in, he's been practically perfect at the wit. As to Gyllenhall, he might do a good job though...

So I heard in the paper that Paul Bettany (A Knight's Tale/A Beautiful Mind) might be playing the Joker, and that Jake Gyllenhall might be playing Harvey Dent (who later becomes Two Face).

The Liberals currently have a leader, Bill Graham, he may be an interim leader but so was Trudeau in the '79 or '80 election, it's not really a big deal. Hedy Fry is unlikely to be the leader, I haven't even heard anything mentioned about her taking part in the race. The frontrunners are: Michael Ignatieff: The former Havard professor who won his riding in the last election. However, he has the problem of condoning "soft" torture in some instances. Belinda Stronach The former Conservative leader hopeful, and former government minister in the Martin government. She faces a couple problems though, one she's considered fairly inexperienced in politics, and there are still lingering questions over why she crossed the floor to the Liberals. Scott Brison: Former Progressive Conservative leadership hopeful, he crossed the floor to the Liberals very shortly after the merge between the Alliance and PCs. He's been elected on the east coast since 1997, except for a brief time when he gave up his seat so Joe Clark could sit in parliment until a general election could be called. He's won his typically Conservative riding quite handily twice as a Liberal, both times by quite wide margins as well. He is also an openly gay candidate, and a couple years younger than Belinda. Bob Rae: He is a former NDP Premier in Ontario, and he handled the Liberal inquiry into the Air India trial. He is also former federal NDPer though too, and he is not overly popular for his time as Premier of Ontario. Other names that have been mentioned as possibilites are Stephane Dion, and Ken Dryden.

I disagree with the time line, but it's still not a big deal, people have been crossing the floor of the commons for years and will probably continue to do so either which way. An election is more than likely to happen in the next couple years too considering minority parliments don't usually last long. This will give the constiuents a chance to grade Emerson's performance as a Tory and decide to keep him or not after that.

It's really not a big deal, people are going to cross if they want to one way or another if the opportunity is there. However, this way at least the voters can decide if they like this person enough after the switch still to re-elect them or not by watching their performance in the House, and then deciding in the next election if they still want someone from the other party or not.

If they can't switch parties, why would becoming an independant make a difference? People did not elect them as an independant either, and maybe would not have had they run as one.

Anyone watch The Hour tonight? I liked how George Strombo said that on Day One Stephen Harper has already broken promises. First having a floor crosser as a minister after the harsh criticism against Belinda when she did it. And appointing a non-elected MP to a Cabinet position and to the Senate because he's un-elected (Stephen Harper said he would have elections for senate vacancies).

People have the right to cross the floor. We're in a minority situation, so it's not like this government will probably last for more than two years. So, it's not like the voters won't get to decide soon enough, and look at Belinda she crossed and won by more than 4 800 votes, so it's not like it cost her too much by crossing. Also, why not give the voters a chance to see what their MP is like on the other side? Perhaps they'll decide he's still doing a good job and decide to keep him anyways. The only irony of this is that the Tories condemned Belinda Stronach for the very same thing last spring and now when the tables are turned choose to do it anyways.

Anyone find it funny though that the head security guard is the guy who came second in Survivor: The Australian Outback though? It just kind have seemed random I suppose...

I thought the movie was alright, but I didn't read too much into it... As to payphones, aren't they rapidly disappearing anyways? As to the magazine stand, she was waiting for security to go by so she could actually escape without getting caught...

It's too bad that many of the good things that do happen under the BC Liberals never get reported on, because they really have not been that bad to this province. I remember the BC NDP with the fast cat ferry fiasco, fudge-it budgets, bingo gate, etc. So, if anything they have been better than the BC NDP at running this province.

"how bad our health care system is here in B.C. because of cuts the BC Liberals made in the early Double Ohs", yet according to this article we're number one. Which also makes the article even more interesting is the fact that money doesn't neccessarily mean a better system but how it's spent, something the right has been advocating for awhile.

His fans read the blog, so what? That doesn't make him a celebrity, he's still just known.

How is Matthew Good a celebrity? He's known for his work with a band from back in the nineties, that's not really "celebrity" status. Don't get me wrong I like lots of musicians and bands who are known and definitely not celebrities, and that's cool, but I think that the term is mis-used sometimes.

Brian Mulrooney wasn't all that bad really. He made some mistakes, but so what, every government does. Also the other ones may not have had a whole lot of time as PMs but it's still more time than you or I have had.

I have a feeling this show might flop...
