  1. He wasn't the original singer of DSK.
  2. It's not about a spectacle it's about seeing the cost of war and putting a human face on it. It's a lot harder to support a war when you can put a face on it.
  3. Okay, not lowering the flag is bad because it is a sign of respect for the fallen, in this case those that fell in the defence of our country. Whether or not they should be there everyone should have a chance to know that they died for us.
  4. Why not make it public? I'm sorry but being "forced fed" by the media is not a bad thing unless you believe everything they say.
  5. It's from Avalanche, it was hosted on the house of smoke and mirrors website, plus Matt Good said somewhere that the drums from that song were used in "A Long Way Down".
  6. Blair Dobson wasn't apart of Dead Surf Kiss. After the first album the band changed a lot until the only member left was Dave Genn. That's why they ended up becoming DSK.
  7. Yes, and everyone goes to the CBC website to find this out? No, most read their papers or watch the newscasts. It should be out there for everyone to see, so that everyone can judge. If we have nothing to hide there's no reason not to be accountable.
  8. The Sports money is only for registration it's not for equipment. Also the income tax is going to affect students too sooner or later, so it may look good the GST is going down now, but what happens in the income tax keeps going up?
  9. I'm sure most of you know this was Dave Genn's first band. I found the very first Dead Surfs Kiss CD today, and I got to say for what's essentially an 80s metal album it's actually not too bad.
  10. I think Forman's kind have become the new Chase, remember in season one Chase was the person people didn't really like, now Forman's kind have taken on that role. Anyways I think it might be good for Forman to leave the show, I think the current cast is getting a little stale, and the only character they have to keep is the show's namesake, so why not do a Law & Order type thing?
  11. I think the new budget doesn't work, like they're lowering corporate tax cuts, which isn't smart because they were already lowering the GST, so they raised the Income Tax, Income Tax is worth more than the GST... That's why if the Income Tax is lowered Canadians see real savings.
  12. The media can find more than enough stories as is, I think that this is newsworthy though because come on, we should know about who's dying. We should know who these people are who risk their lives for our country every day.
  13. This isn't about the families either, this is about making the party look good, if it's about the families, the government can acknowledge their sacrifice.
  14. How are we censored from all that, there's a movie about Paul Rusesabagina extraordinary story called "Hotel Rwanda"...
  15. Brian Byrne's solo CD is alright. If you like The Gin Blossoms you should check out Northey Valenzuela, one of the two singers on the album is Jesse Valenzuela from them, plus Craig Northey formerlly of the Odds is the other singer.
  16. It's not like Canada is at war all the time, so it wouldn't be at half staff all the time, and if we are in a situation where soldiers are constantly dying perhaps it is a good idea to pull out of Afghanistan.
  17. Please, this is covering it up though, people have the right to know about this. These people put their lifes on the line for our nation, so the nation should have the opportunity to mourn their loss, with a media black out that's rather tricky.
  18. Avalanche went Gold I do believe.
  19. I enjoyed it as well.
  20. His propsals to fix the problems do not seem all that un-reasonable either.
  21. Shouldn't the public have the right to know how many soldiers are dying and who? The public should know about something like this, especially from a government promising to do things differently by being open and honest...
  22. Those are proposals by the Information Commissionar who is currently compalaining about the accountability act...
  23. Well I think the signs were there well before the election. Remember Preston Manning said he'd never live in Stornaway? What happened to that. Remember the Reformers said they'd never collect a pension, yet some have. Stephen Harper has simply moved faster in breaking some of his key promises he said he wouldn't break, like appointing a senator, inducing someone to cross the floor. Don't get me wrong, I don't really have anything against either, I just think it's silly to promise something than break it.

  25. Scott Brison actually did stick with the PCs until the week of the merge. He apparently smelt something fishy, and as a openly gay candidate, he don't want to be the poster candidate for the party but rather run on his own merits. He switched to the PCs because he felt the Alliance did not share his values and the Liberals did at that point.
