Soundgarden had only a few good songs, same with RATM. Audioslave at least has had more good songs on their first album than those two bands had.
-
It's been more than a year now since the last Audioslave album, and Audioslave are a fine band.
-
There's nothing wrong with releasing an album in less than two years, bands used to do it all the time.
-
http://www.audioslave.com/ I can't wait to hear the new single, I'm hoping this album will be good.

How is there no depth, the lyrics are as every bit political as Matthew Good's however, there's no references to Bush and the U.S.' foreign policy in every song. As for the music, it's just meant to be something that's "fun" and gets people listening to it, there's truly nothing wrong with that.

Apparently I was under the wrong impression, but Ryan Dahle was only the Studio Tech and did some equipment rentals for BT too during the album. Anyways, I really like Billy Talent II, there's a few songs that are only okay, but the rest is really good stuff.

Alright, it's time to get over the Canadian/American thing. We come from the same collection of Countries, Britain, and we diverged somewhat because of The American Revolution. For one we supported the Brits in it, not the Americans. And yes we had a choice, just because we were a colony doesn't mean our people don't have opinions, we could have resisted too. Anyways after the war, the Americans became very gun savvy because weapons meant protection to them, that's how the Brits ruled, through their Navy, and defeating that once was a daunting task they almost lost they weren't going to let that happen again. Secondly they lost all noticable symbols of British culture, tea, the letter u in many words, and also the need to establish their country. An established country could bring allies which would mean that if Britain wanted the U.S. back it would have to think twice. Canada, took on the British condescending attitude about the U.S. The Brits lost the war, so of course they were going to look upon their former peoples distainfully. But at the end of the day the Americans are more British than they wanted to be, and we're not as much unlike the States as we'd like to be. On to the MGB failing. It's quite simple really, one is definitely the pitiful tour. Having several solid tours could help develop a strong fan base. Marketing isn't everything. Also it was the poor choice of singles, Strange Days is a third single, not a second one. The second single should have been either Load Me Up or The Future Is X-Rated. The MGB could have sold well, their singles were all more pop-rock than rock. Also, I don't see what's wrong with editing the songs on BM. I would love to hear the clean version of The Future Is X-Rated. I think the phone sex thing is just stupid, and really the song is good enough I don't think it really needed it.

I think trading Tuuka Rask and keeping Justin Pogge was a mistake, Rask is a far better goalie than Pogge is.

Ryan Dahle produced the new Billy Talent album.
-
Belfour is not all that bad, he was considered finished when he came to Toronto, but he turned it around, maybe he could do the same somewhere else. I think Markannen will be the Oilers' goalie of the future now anyways, he played great in the finals. They definitely have a goalie they can build on either way right now.
-
I'm not all that big of a fan of their first CD, but their new track sounds pretty awesome. They sound a lot more polished now than they were before, which is probably the Ryan Dahle influence on their new record.

Animals protect their herd, how many people don't stand out to protect their family? It's the same thing, there's plenty of posturing in the animal kingdom, same with humans.

What Famous Band Do You Hate Most?
Matt replied to Ryan44's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Alright, how can anyone who liked Franz's first album not like the second? It's so much better than their first one. Maybe it's because they did a true second album and didn't do the same album twice like Nickleback constantly does. The Hives are also awesome for the same reasons. AC/DC are fine, they just need to do a truly new album. U2, and Led Zeppelin are what they are not bad not great. Beyond that I don't get the point of all these I hate threads. I used to go on all the time about how all these bands suck, but it's far more important which bands rock. -
It would be a little hard for Ryan Dahle to grow up with Matthew Good considering Good grew up in BC and The Age of Electric came from Saskatchewan. My understanding based on comments on the Meegee Blog back in the day of what happened was Matt stopped coming around some time after Ryan and Megan left his live band.

Plus some Liberals are Fiscal Conservatives and Social Liberals.

I would like to see John Kerry run again, I think he could do an even better campaign in the next election than he did in the first one.
-
Typical left wing closed mind. That's funny because I'm a right winger, not a far-right winger, but a right winger all the same. I simply feel that the Americans are a little too involved in our business.
-
Anyone who thinks the Conservatives are not a problem because a minority government in place is wrong. All the parties are taking a step back right now and might support stuff they wouldn't have previously. All of them are trying to rebuild their parties too, so it's not like this is over. The Tories also could get a majority at some point in the near future too. I was watching CNN recently, and I found it interesting that one of the Americans thought that "if terrorism is in Canada than it's in America" almost like we're the same as the States. Why is it so hard for some of the US citizens to understand our national identity is different from theirs is beyond my comprehension.

Where's everyone's faith? Yes Edmonton has been hurt, yes they have been setback, but how many times have they comeback this season? They almost didn't make it into the playoffs, they struggled in the first two rounds, but they overcame it. It's not over until the final minute has been played and that's at least two games away, maybe the Oilers can get something going at home and just keep going from there.

Troops Told Geneva Rules Don't Apply To Taliban
Matt replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Not only that, but a comparison doesn't need to be exact, but it does have to be similar and the Taliban did run things similarly. Sure they may not have been the threat that the Nazis became, but the Nazis were not always that threat either. I'm not saying the Taliban should have or should not have been stopped, I am just saying that this isn't as clear cut as some people try to make it. -
Troops Told Geneva Rules Don't Apply To Taliban
Matt replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Please Bizud, my comparison is accurate, wow they haven't gone outside of Afghanistan, yet, it doesn't mean they never will, and they still compare quite handidly to Nazi Germany there was a before where they were just trying to get back "everything that was taken from them". Your comparison, however, was far off. Bizud, you're acting like there's no grey area to this when there is plenty of it. -
Troops Told Geneva Rules Don't Apply To Taliban
Matt replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Actually the Nazis were not the most repressive nor worst regime in the world, the Soviets under Stalin were. Also, there was a time when the Nazis could have been stopped in no time because no one took them seriously until one day they became strong enough that they almost could not be stopped. Also, the second we leave Afghanistan, they could fend for themselves, our forces should be training theirs. However, how will diplomacy work with a regime that does not want to listen to the west but rather see them gone all together? -
Troops Told Geneva Rules Don't Apply To Taliban
Matt replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
After World War Two troops didn't just go home Bizud, they never do, there were still troops there to ensure nothing else happened that would give them a cause to stay, that's not occupation. Actually the two situations are quite similar, people the world over felt screwed over, looked for a cause and bought into something. Bizud, why look at a government now, sixty years later, when it has gone so far past the post war stage, those two comparisons are incredibly inane and have no meaning whatsoever because they are not actually good comparisons.
