  1. By your standards Bizud, we shouldn't recognize the current German government, I mean the people picked the Nazi government back in the day, so it was up to them to overthrow them, not for us to meddle in their affairs. We still recognize the current German government in any event, why? Because the Nazis were a brutal regime of power hungry people. What's the difference between them and the Taliban?
  2. Give me a break, a lot of people don't believe that they hate democracy, mostly far-right wingers believe that, but there are people on the right who do not, a lot more than you probably think. However, Canada has every right to be in Afghanistan, the Afghan government has invited Canada to be there. Also, the Taliban supported the 9/11 attacks, they're hostile, and how can there be a diplomatic solution when the Taliban hates the Americans so very much? What really could have been resolved? Nothing.
  3. http://www.whitecapsnewstadium.com/home.cfm There some renderings of what it will look like on that website. The testimonials has got a lot of people's support, including Steve Nash's brother, Martin, who plays for the Whitecaps. I don't quite see why the Whitecaps need a new stadium though. Like Swangard over in Burnaby is doing alright as it is, and it's great for watching games at. However, the renderings of it do look nice and all, but the stadium will be practically right beside Canada Place, lots and lots of Cruise Ships pull into Canada Place every day, can you imagine your favourite band being interupted by a horn blasting in the middle of the song?
  4. Yes I did, it was interesting but I think they should have explained what happens to House in the end.
  5. He was on the original Law & Order and now he is on Criminal Intent...
  6. THANK YOU!!! I thought i was the only one that found that really fricking annoying. Does anyone remember when that hot blonde chick was fired and she was like "Is this because I'm a lesbian?". That was hot. yes!!! best bunch of posts...ever. CSI is so lame. and that lesbian chick, that was hot. I agree with Matt here, im gonna say CI, Goren and Eames are the shit. but SVU is tight. i like em all. What do you think of them adding in Logan to the show? I personally think he doesn't quite fit, partially because I don't know the whole back story that seems to be a fixture of his character on this show and partially because the show seems to fit Groben's character more than Logan's.
  7. I personally can't stand SVU, it's just not that interesting to me.
  8. I used to only watch Law & Order on the odd occassion, but recently I've started watching more and more of the recent episodes. Same with Criminal Intent.
  9. Personally I think Criminal Intent is the best, Groben pretty much makes that show work though. However, when Detective Logan on, the show isn't bad or anything either.
  10. I didn't say you called me a right winger, but I take offence to being lumped in with the far right wingers, as I am a moderate right winger. I am fiscally Conservative and socially Liberal, there's plenty of people like that, the old Progressive Conservative party was like that and the current Liberal party is like that. Truthfully there's more people in the middle too than any where else that's why the Tories had such a tough time getting elected. That's why the NDP has less of a chance than the Tories getting elected either. As for the media, the CBC is pretty balanced too. However, I read from a lot of different Canadian media outlets. I find even the "right wing" papers can be balanced too. I read supposed right wing papers all the time and find that Bush & Harper are being just as criticized as they are being praised.
  11. Truthfully people need variety period, I read articles from several different sources. I would prefer he encourages his fan base to go off and find some news sources and become informed than him giving his opinion. As to the right-wing comment I completely take offence to be placed in the same category as the far right wingers. There are plenty of right wingers who are merely fiscally conservative, probably even more than then there are who are socially and fiscally conservative. That is the reason the Liberals tend to be considered our "natural governing party".
  12. He basically plays the same character over and over... Also John Woo isn't all that great of a director. Especially because Mission Impossible was genius and MI 2 was not.
  13. I hear Paul Haggis had a hand in writing this script. Plus Daniel Craig was in Road To Perdition, Tomb Raider, and lots of others...
  14. It's better than MI2, but it's nothing great, and it's almost a farce of the first two. Also Simon Pegg (Shaun of The Dead) is in this too, and even though his part is small, he's pretty amusing.
  15. I hope he doesn't the problem is most people don't go out there and find out for themselves, they just take what he says at face value.
  16. I said the fighting stopped in 1918, simply the war was not over it was a mutual ceasefire while they negotiated.
  17. But, the income tax was raised. Which, means more of your money from your income will be going to the government.
  18. You have to read between the lines, when they're telling you Joke A, they're really using Joke A to tell Joke B. If they bring back Futurama, I will be the happiest of all the pandas. My point was usually neither joke was neither funny nor all that smart nor sophisticated. The humour isn't all that complicated to understand and it is not all that funny, it's good for a cheap laugh or two, but I'd rather watch something else if something else is on.
  19. How did they over celebrate it? It looked pretty accurate to me.
  20. Actually everyone is going to be taxed more if you think about it. The GST only taxes when you buy a good or service, how many people spend their entire income on Goods and Services in a year? Where as income tax is your total money earned in that year. Wouldn't it be more likely that you'll have less money at the end of the day if you have less of your money earned going to your bank account or somewhere else you want to spend it on and more of it going to the government?
  21. Futurama was okay but the jokes were not all that smart and sophisticated. Family Guy is fine, I really enjoyed last night's episode too.
  22. American historians also credit Americans with ending both World War I and II, when in fact they ended neither. In World War I, the actual turning point was when the Canadians not only took Vimy ridge, but when they did it efficently and with a low loss of life compared to when the French and the Brits tried to take it. At that point the Germans were on the run, and the Americans hadn't actually deployed any troops yet. Once Russia dropped out of the war, the Germans rushed their troops from the eastern front to the western one. They beat the Americans to getting there, but the Allies already had the Germans on the run and that didn't change. Also November 11th was not the day the war ended, it was a day agreed to ceasefire while the two sides discussed the possibility of ending the war, it wouldn't have been to smart to keep shooting at eachother while possibly discussing a treaty because that could compromise that if one side got a "cripling blow". With World War II the turning point was without a doubt Stalingrad, without it Hitler would have likely been able to keep going, at least for awhile longer. While Normandy was a great help to speeding up the end of the war, it did not end it, by the time the Soviets were at Berlin, the western allies were still far enough way. Also, the Americans main focus in the war was the war in the Pacific, so that's more where they helped to end the war, however, again the U.S. more helped relive bewildered British troops than do it all by themselves.
  23. I don't remember that but I don't remember Much West, so I don't know if it was used for that or not. However, I do know "Targets" was used for the Indie Spotlight theme at one time.
  24. Yes, that's what it's called. I hear that DSK no longer owns the song "Cementhead", from what I've heard is that they gave it to a punk band called "Faber", a clip of their version is on their website (www.faberband.com).
  25. The song was "Targets" for the Indie Spotlight back in the day. And I said he wasn't a singer for Dead Surf Kiss, Dead Surf Kiss was renamed DSK later because Dave Genn was the only original left.
