Pushing For Nuclear Power Alternatives?
Moonlight_Graham replied to Crusader's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
i see both sides of the nuclear power debate. one hand its efficient, powerful, and cleaner than most, but i wouldn't feel that comfortale with a nuke plant in my city. It is also another target for terrorists. I definately think nuke plants shouldn't be in any major cities. They should build almost entirely underground, that would make them a lot safer i'd think. -

encarf, yes i did read the code. What i understoof from it was: A victim aged 12-13 years old (notice they say person UNDER the age of 14) can't have sex unless the accused is 12-15 years old, and/or less than 2 years older than the victim (ie: a max of 15 years old for a 13 y/o). I don't see anything in what you posted banning persons 14, 15, or 16+ years old from having sex with each other or anyone else above 14 years or older. I assume this is because the legal age in Canada stands at 14 right now. Everything i've read so far says that someone 14 years or older can have consentual sex with anyone 14 years or older. Can you show otherwise?
-
about 2 years. Canadians don't want another election in another year, so this minority gov't will last longer than the last. 1.5 - 2 years seems like a good estimate.
-
i think its a big deal. its bullshit. The elections were like 2-3 weeks ago.

But it will allow police to charge pedophiles (or any sickos) if they are an adult & having sex with 14 or 15 years olds. Even if it turns out to actually not do ANYTHING to reduce the activity, at least Canadians can say we legally do not support adults able to have sex with people 15 and under. At the very least, its the moral idea of the matter that we are changing. I'm kind of embarrassed that the law sits at 14. Personally i think it will do some good, not sure how much. It can't hurt though.

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Law/2006/02/08/1431315-sun.html They'll put a motion to raise the legal age of sexual consent from 14 to 16. But they'll have clauses so that young people can still legally have sex with each other. Glad to hear this IMO. I wanted this done. Harper then said he'd do it during the campaign, now he's going to try and make it happen. Heard police on TV say Canada has become a place around the world where pedifiles target as a place to live because of the lax age laws.

At least it would prevent people from being bribed with cabinet positions if they switched parties, which seems the case in both this and the Belinda switches.

wow, its true. Your picture is awesome and accurate then.

Where And When Did You First Hear Matthewgood
Moonlight_Graham replied to davidedward's topic in Matthew Good
i'm in the same boat. I don't feel old though. Everything Is Automatic was on the radio & MuchMusic, as was Indestructible. When Apparitions came out i finally decided to buy Underdogs. I really liked it. Then i borrowed LOTGA from a friends' brother and i totally fell in love with that album and have bought every MG album since. -

Bush asked for something like 70 billion more for Iraq funding this year. That a lot of mouths it could feed. -

what a bitch. I don't think people should be able to cross the floor. Either stay with your party, or switch to an independant. very undemocratic

one of my fav quotes: "Always remember: others may hate you, but those who hate you don't win unless you hate them, and then you destroy yourself." - Richard Nixon at his farewell address for careers: "Find out what you love to do most, and then figure out a way to get paid for it" here's my own advice: Always watch an over-hyped movie twice. The first time you'll probably think its overrated and say "meh", but the 2nd time you may really like it because all your expectations are gone. (this has happened many times for me, ie: The Matrix, Fellowship of the Ring, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon etc.)

yeah the quote unnerved me too the 1st time i read it in the article. disgusting

I'm a huge fan of cereal. In high school, i used to eat a few bowls for breakfast, a few bowls when i came home from school, and then a bowl or 2 before i went to bed. HELL YEAH!!!! I enjoy sugary and non-sugary cereals as long as they taste good. I usually mix a healthy cereal with a sugary cereal. Saves money and mixes things up so i don't get bored of the cereals as quickly. Right now i'm eating this Kelloggs cereal with dried banana chips in it, plus PC raisin bran (has much more raisins than kelloggs). p.s. i am currently distressed at the lack of prizes and/or toys that come in cereal these years.
