  1. I totally agree. And Bones was awesome.
  2. What stores can I buy the CD at? When Chaotic Neutral came out I went to HMV to buy the CD, it was out maybe a week, I expected it to be in the new releases on the wall, but it wasn't even in the store. I had to ask a worker there if they had it, and he went to the back to check, took him at least 5 mins to find, but he grabbed me a copy back there Oh how times have changed... Funny thing is the last few releases I can name on a few fingers how many times I've actually used the CD. I just convert the CD into digital format through iTunes. I guess at this point I just collect it for tradition's sake. Almost 20 years since I bought Underdogs.
  3. Just listened to the itunes preview of Suburbia. Wow so good! Pleasantly surprised, so different. Has "single" potential. The re-works on Rooms were sometimes amazing (ie: Tripoli), sometimes a miss for me. Digging that big bassy sound on Let's Get It On too. These tunes are fun. Seeing that jewel case is really trippy for me. I can remember when I was in university and I bought that CD when it came out. When I went to class I saw a girl with the CD too, and the little comic store on campus I used to hang out at instead of doing my actual readings was spinning the whole CD too.
  4. Now that I think about it, yeah I agree he really is very aware of his limits, very rarely does he go out of pitch. On some shows he'll hit the big notes, and others he might low-ball a note here or there a bit. I'm sure the limits of what your voice can do changes from show to show, and tour to tour, depending on all sorts of factors. I'd rather have a singer sound good than to cringe as they try to hit notes they just can't hit that night. My voice is sore after one concert and I'm just a fan! Imagine doing that night after night...
  5. It would be cool to hear Fall of Man or Under The Influence live from AOB. I don't think I've ever personally heard them live, and they'd be good live in a full band setting, lots of energy.
  6. I agree the sound for the TV show didn't capture the live sound very well at all. No thickness to it at all. No idea how they captured the sound there, but I also find when bands record straight from the soundboard/mixer the sound usually sucks too. I much prefer a really good fan recording taken from the crowd at a good angle, because that can capture the natural reverb of the venue and the crowd. Some pro live recording can do a great job of that too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enm0_yS-L5w
  7. Cold Water Los Alamos Weapon (probably Matt's best song live) Symbolistic White Walls Bright End of Nowhere (lyrically, just kind of fits the theme)
  8. This might be the closest we'll get to a live DVD. Close enough. We can't get it in digital take-home format, but at least it's pro shot. https://www.nearfantastica.com/bored/topic/13611-matthew-good-at-the-concert-hall-merged/page-5 Really enjoyed this song performance for this show.
  9. Load Me Up is obviously one of, if not the most, popular songs he ever wrote. It would be hard not to put it on for the wider audience i think. Not my very #1 favorite but interested to hear a new version.
  10. I'm going to rank all the tracks on CN. I'd like to see your list, or at least your top 3 or top 5. My list: 1. Tiger By The Tail 2. Cold Water 3. Army of Lions 4. Girls in Black 5. Los Alamos 6. Cloudbusting 7. All You Sons and Daughters 8. Harridan 9. No Liars 10. Moment 11. Kid Down the Well
  11. The only thing of substantial value for me is access to the sound check. For $100 it's just not worth it. Getting a group shot with the band is ok but a little lame considering we used to get 1-on-1 meet and greets with Matt for free at his bus until not too many years ago, but I don't have a problem with Matt trying to create more revenue this way, it just doesn't provide much value since I already a couple of pics with him. It would be really cool to get an individual picture with Matt and the band by a pro photographer. Or even a 1-on-1 pic with the whole band with my own shitty camera.
  12. Dave might be a bit of a dick but he brought important things to the music. Matt and him may have clashed a lot but I think that also fed the angst in the band and the music which helped make it great. Terrible experiences have led to many great records. There's a reason why young angry men make most of the best rock music and middle-aged women not so much (that's not to say angry women can't make great rock music, they're just generally less angry/aggressive than young men). Matt has said recording AOB was a horrific experience, but I think that turmoil also helped make it a great rock n roll record.
  13. i like what he's doing now, just showing short clips of demos. I'd like it if he released the full demos after the albums for said demos come out, say a few months later. All problems solved.
  14. I agree. I also love Tiger By The Tail. Amazing lyrics too. Honestly, I've never seen such a bottom-heavy album in my life. The album really starts to kick in to high gear with Harridan.
  15. My fav has always been While We Were Hunting Rabbits
  16. Yes I think that's most likely. I could see Matt maybe releasing an EP of a bunch of choice BM remakes and releasing it to support/hype the upcoming BM tour? Or maybe he'll just sell those tracks at the shows? Or maybe both? A re-issue might also be in the cards? Who knows, will be fun to see what comes out of it. Either way, looks like a really fun idea that will get a lot of the old MGB fans excited again.
  17. I don't think i've ever seen anyone get so dominated in the Octogon since Randy Couture put James Toney to sleep. Sweet dreams amateurs.
  18. That's a nice fat setlist with some excellent song choices. Wow wish I could have been there.
  19. I shouldn't say that. At least there was no fighting etc. When you go to smaller club shows, where the bands aren't big enough to have their own road crew, band members will often leave their setlists abandoned & taped to wherever after they've left the stage. In those cases sometimes you just have to go near the stage in the club and take the setlist yourself if everyone has left for the night. I did that once, I mean, club stages are very accessible, you don't have the big security gate where you can't possibly get near the stage like at MG-size shows (or bigger). Once after a show when everyone was asking for picks & setlists, I asked a roadie for a distortion pedal off of Matt's pedalboard. I was joking of course, the roadie laughed and said "actually Matt doesn't use any distortion pedals", which is true I suppose, at least on that tour (I know he has used a fuzz box in the past, which is technically a distortion pedal).
  20. How do you know about Cloudbusting? It wasn't on the setlist you posted... Oh and were in the front rows toward the left of the stage near Stu's area? I saw some people there clapping to K-I-C-K-A-S-S!
  21. I was at the Woodbine show. I knew he was going to just play the "greatest hits" given the crowd but it was still a great show. Matt & the whole band really worked their asses off and I appreciated that. Blake stood up and went nuts on the cymbals at the end of Weapon to blow out the show, amazing. 1st time seeing Bones live, I really enjoyed him, he has a very gritty bass tone at times which sounded awesome, more distorted than Milos who seems to play cleaner. Stu was Stu, great guitar player, nailed that cool lick during No Liars (better song live than on record). Stu was the only guy not drenched in sweat throughout the show, I'm pretty sure that man has no sweat glands. Matt admitted after the first song or 2 that he was very out of shape, by the end of Weapon (final song) he looked exhausted. It didn't really affect his performance though, he soldiered on through the whole show. Bro also needs a haircut LOL. Yes his vocals were low in the mix, during the 1st song or 2 I noticed him signalling to the sound guy to raise the volume a bit. Still was kinda low but given that neither his body nor voice is in touring shape I didn't have a problem with it. Woodbine is right next to Pearson Airport, so he was amusingly distracted by the low-flying planes hurtling toward him over his head every few minutes. I hope he enjoyed the races before the show. The crowd was fucking terrible, possibly the worst MG crowd in Canadian history. 95% of people were there to see Hedley, half the crowd had no fucking idea who Matt was. Before Matt played "Everything is Automatic" he said "This next song is a sing-along, though I'm sure many of you were probably not born yet when it came out" hahah. I was about 20 rows back, when Giant came on there were about 3 other people in the crowd clapping to "K-I-C-K-A-S-S". It was so bad that there were many people in the crowd sitting on the ground in the middle of the crowd during the set, and a bunch more ignoring the show and talking amongst themselves. Some 40-year-old man-baby Hedley fan ass-hat even starting giving Matt the thumbs down during the show. Then he tried to throw emmit643's beachball at Matt but Mr. McWimpy could only reach the security dudes beyond the 1st row. I felt shy sometimes because I was the only person around me singing along. I left the show after Matt's set...because Hedley sucks. The opener, The Strumbellas, were pretty good. Overall had a good time.
  22. Maybe if you added a unicorn behind him,
  23. This is the ugliest MG t-shirt ever created.
  24. Forget the Matt Good show. Did you say Beef-on-a-Bun dinner?
