Doing some research. Called the BC Ministry of Education for this info but I couldn't get through (must have taken a Friday holiday, haha). I want to know what the top 3 or 4 largest (in terms of say # of students, or teachers) elementary/secondary (grades K-12) school boards are in BC, as well as the top 3 or so biggest in Vancouver if possible. If anyone has some guesses, or can lead me on the right direction, It would be appreciated since I live in Ontario & know but all about schooling in BC. I'm thinking some or all of the biggest boards are around Vancouver & a few members are from near there.

Nixon - 7.5/10 - typical Oliver Stone subject matter, but his directing is a wacky/weird at times with odd dazed flashbacks & "hallucinations" & whatnot. Hopkins does a good job.

I really appreciate Matt doing this, but it's really annoying I can't view these. I check his site maybe once a day at most, so odds are low of me catching these. But again, keep em' going it's a great idea!

My gf knows just about nothing about Matt Good, nor most things rock-related. She listens to pop & hip-hop almost exclusively, at least on the radio (has Hendrix & Zeppelin on her ipod, which is weird). So I just made her a sort of "best of" MG cd to get her introduced. I think I done good. Song list: Weapon Load Me Up While We Were Hunting Rabbits Apparitions Hello Time Bomb Fated Bright End of Nowhere Failing The Rorschach Test A Long Way Down Tripoli (Rooms version) Advertising On Police Cars Born Losers Suburbia Put Out Your Lights Symbolistic White Walls note: tried to mix up catchy hits & slow stuff. I love "Bright End of Nowhere" & "long way down" & don't like "Sort of a Protest Song" so lick my balls haters lol. Had an extra 2 mins to fill on CD so slapped "Put Out Your Lights" on there. Wanted badly to put "Empty's Theme Park" & "Avalanche" on there but they = 16+ mins total & could fit 2 extra other songs on there instead. Was really hard narrowing down to 15 songs!!

I can't decide on a clear #1. But I nominate: Smashing Pumpkins ("Mellon Collie..." had so many frickin great songs that several of them didn't even get to be singles) REM (4 excellent albums in a row) Beastie Boys (15 year career, not 1 unexcellent album) Suprised nobody said The Hip (a contender). OLP had catchy tunes coming out their ass but the lead singer seems like a douche so fuck them. RHCP were mostly annoying (Give It Away, Love Rollercoaster...blelch) until the amazing "Californication" (1999). Nirvana is the most important in terms of influencing an industry, but a bit overrated musically. Radiohead: The Bends = amazing, Ok Computer = overrated. Pearl Jam = pretty good but c'mon. Metallica = 2 really great albums (Load was not metal but still excellent) + Garage Inc. but meh not quite enough, + Reload mostly sucked dick. Oasis = 1 good album, 1 great album, then they sucked. Rage = great band, they're up there. Offspring = started with a bang, ended with a thud. Barenaked Ladies = enough hits to get props. Soundgarden = uhm no.

This Friday's Nxne Show To Be Broadcast On Siruis Xm
Moonlight_Graham replied to adrianf74's topic in Matthew Good
Is this a recording of the XM radio stream or did you record it while in attendance at the actual concert? Thanks to you and nmf for the uploads, I nominate you 2 for NF'ers of the Month!! -
That's an Xbox Live bundle? Cool. How many points/bucks? Besides ODST, which wasn't bad but not great, Reach is probably my least favorite of the Halo's, but I still liked it. It just wasn't as epic, and a bunch of the levels and pretty much all of the enemies/vehicles/weapons felt like "been there/done that". Glad Halo 4 looks to have a bunch of new weapons & enemies.

Psychonauts isn't an indie game to my knowledge, so that's kinda weird. Indie sales though, zoinks! Just replayed the single-player campaign for Halo: Reach. Originally played it co-op with 4 friends when it 1st came out so I missed a lot of the dialogue/story because my friends wouldn't stop talking LOL. Story is pretty decent, though the characters are still largely cookie-cutter stereotypes (Carter the squeeky clean & responsible leader, Emile the silent but badass warrior etc.)

I don't even have our dear leader on my fb. Why is this place dead? Well, after 7 years or whatever you just kinda have talked about everything Matthew Good related anyone could possibly think of besides new albums & tours. I think it's also a small website, so those who wish to chat about off-topic things can have livelier discussions on other forum sites. Also, Facebook might be a reason, where posting some crazy video on your FB is more fun than posting it here maybe? I think a bunch of more post-heavy regular members leaving or not coming around much is a big factor, and it has snowballed.

The "copy And Paste" Thread
Moonlight_Graham replied to sodamntired's topic in Tech Section: A Hard Drive at Risk
I despise pop music for destroying rock & roll, but damn is that a catchy hook chorus. Same with a lot of Gaga stuff. -
YOU drove everyone away from The Bored. Just kidding. Maybe

In somewhat related news, Dave Genn's wife Tamara Taggart, is cute as hell:

Looks like Matt is doing some festivals this summer, which is great. Hopefully he'll be doing Bluesfest in Ottawa when they announce the lineups in a few days.

Wow lol. I've never beaten an Elder Scrolls game (main quest) and I've played well over 100+ hours on each game in the series since Part II: Daggerfall, and I try to go through the main quests but so much time is taken up by other quests and exploring etc. that I just can never put in the time to finish them. Haven't played Skyrim yet, have been playing other games and will pick it up maybe later this year. Always boggles my mind the people who can get 1000 in Achievements in Skyrim/Oblivion. There's lots of games yes, but this has been a problem since last gen for me. Only last year did I get to play through all the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era games I wanted to. I finished Assassin's Creed 2 but just don't have the time to go all the way through Red Dead Redemption and other games like LA Noire or the single-player for Modern Warfare 3 etc. To save money I only buy games I intend to go home and play immediately, I never have games sitting in shrink-wrap unless they were gifts I didn't ask for, then by the time I get around to whatever hit game I want to play next they're usually half-price. I keep a checklist of games I want to play that I slowly go through, and as I said I was years behind getting to some games for PS2. Games I still have to play are Gears of War 3, Skyrim, Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3.

What Are You Reading?
Moonlight_Graham replied to sodamntired's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
Right now I'm reading this thread. BOOM! -
21 Jump Street - 8/10 - very hilarious. If you like gross/profane humour, ala Superbad, you'll like it.

Seems a bit soon since last tour. Maybe in the fall. Maybe he'll do some summer festivals as well.
