  1. If i win i'll very likely invite a bunch of peeps from The Bored, I don't have 20 friends who are Good fans that's for sure. Might as well invite ppl who would appreciate such an experience. What would be badass is if he did the show solo acoustic and took requests from the winner.
  2. 5 hours driving.
  3. Watched the first episode. It's somewhat boring, except the opening scene. I might try another episode. The random nudity and profanity seems totally out of place and not needed. On the other hand, they're boobies.
  4. His voice annoys me after about 30 seconds, ya.
  5. There are so, so many. Billy Talent Coheed and Cambria Megadeth (ok, 90% of all heavy metal bands have shitty singers) The Cranberries Alexisonfire (the screamo idiot, not Dallas Green)
  6. Harry Potter - Deathly Hollows Pt.2 - 8 out of 10, good stuff.
  7. So i was waiting for like 2 weeks for MG's site or the venue website to post ticket sale info for the Pembroke, ON show. It still says TBA on MG's site and nothing about the concert on te venue site. so i frigging called the venue today to see if they knew when tickets would on sale and they said they've been on sale for 2 weeks! Luckily i still got really good seats, 3rd row.
  8. $24??? That's criminal, i've never seen such a thing. Usually for me fees are maybe $10. I can't believe more than fees for you are more than 50% the price of the ticket!
  9. finished Portal 2, very good game. 10x better than the original. Now playing Alan Wake, better than expected. The combat gets annoying and repetitive after awhile because i just want to explore the world and progress the story. Story is kind of like Lost meets The Shining...but not quite as good as either.
  10. Right. A new lead guitarist + new pianist/keyboardist (i believe they are adding) + a drummer that hasn't played MGB tunes in 10 years = a tour similar to the last 2 tours, ie: a setlist that probably won't change much in songs played, featuring a lot of stuff off the new album + most of the usual past hits...and maybe a couple of Matt favorites or obscure songs thrown in if we're lucky.
  11. you're right. imagine the insane amount of lost productivity that recreational internet browsing has caused in the workplace over the last 15 years of so.
  12. but yoda is swearing.
  13. I can change it if it could gets peoples here in trouble. Just asking to be nice... edit: changed my mind, forget it. FUCK ALL A Y'ALLS OFFICE WORKING MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!
  14. Hellz ya! Got my VIP tix ordered. Any cute chicks here going who want to make out before & after the show? j/k........or am I?
  15. Was browsing Matt's Flickr pages and found this from 2007: photo
  16. Me neither. I would think it would be like some kind of 'backstage pass' deal. I bought a VIP ticket, but i would hope Matt also does the free bus greetings because that is just too cool, especially if there are any fans on limited funds. That may be asking a lot of the guy though, he could be meeting fans until 1am lol. Also...for M+, there are no new memberships available for that right? I was waiting for his next tour to join M+ because i would love a shot at being at the sound check.
  17. That's so frickin' cool that Ian Browne is coming back!! Never saw MGB play live even though i've been a diehard fan since Underdogs. Now i just thought of Geoff Lloyd and it makes me sad, poor guy...
  18. Went through a long phase loving that game. Now playing Portal 2, so much better than the 1st game.
  19. that's one of the gnarliest songs he's ever done. Brings me back to 'The Fall of Man' a bit.
  20. Why did Stu and Blake have to leave, and Milos remain? I don't pay 40 bucks to see a stone-faced zombie stand for 2 hours making no physical movements besides wiggling a couple of fingers. Decent bass player, shitty entertainer.
  21. This is what really sucks with starting with new guys in the band.
  22. I don't remember the source, it was around the release of Hospital Music i believe, he said that a lot of the Avalanche album was about his mania/depression...yes even though he wasn't diagnosed but obviously going through these feelings. Read the lyrics to the Avalanche song, it is quite obvious.
  23. Listened to the album a few times now. The first 3 tracks are absolutely beautiful. i think about 85% of the album is fantastic. Still not wild on "...Mildred"', nor the first 2/3 of LOES, but the lyrics and ending to LOES are magnificent. I very much appreciate Matt discussing briefly the meanings to each of the songs during his "ExploreMusic" interview/listening party. It really adds to the meaning of the songs for me, to uncover a bit of the puzzle but still relate what he's saying to my life. I wish he did this for most of his other albums, ie: i never knew Avalanche was about bipolar disorder, and when he revealed that it became one of my favorite songs and the lyrics so personal for me.
  24. I'm actually very sad to see Stu go. He was fantastic, and was a bit of an inspiration to me on the lead guitar. I wanted to ask for his autograph on my 'Vancouver' CD if i got to see Matt at his bus next tour. His work on stuff like 'Great Whales of the Sea' was epic, he had a bit of 'The Edge' in him. Loved Blake's energy & enthusiasm on drums and backing vocals. Fuck man! They'll be missed. wish them the best.
