Enjoyed that as well. This reddit post has a slight more context, if you didn't catch it a few years back. Dead on New Years - new song? : r/Mattgood

Just caught this, very cool, thank you for sharing.

Was wondering the same on who's in the band lineup. Also, I assume even if the same band, will need an additional guitar player to cover Matt's stuff right? Envisioning a 5 member lineup with Matt up front.

Sounds great, thanks for taking the time to do it!

March 2020 in Toronto was his last full band show I think. I hear you, not a lot to discuss musically right now so it's tough. Really wish Matt would dig out something in the archives. This would be the perfect time while he regroups to release some older live stuff, even if just a digital release. Throw in some old MG shirts re-released, might reinvigorate some fans and also give him something to promote in the meantime.

Agree with everyone. 2003/2004 is my personal favorite MG live era for all the reasons mentioned. Always thought Rich being on bass provided that familiarity of MGB and a bridge for those jumping over to solo MG. It sucks there is not any live footage available from those 2 years, outside of a few short clips.

I'll be that nerd that switches it back to the music a bit. I think a lot of negativities would dissipate or be drowned out if there was some excitement on the show or studio front. Because we are all fans, that's why we come here or go to the shows. But I have heard the word 'uninspired" used for recent shows, or how he can't remember how to play a lot of his catalog so doesn't play it, or that setlists are stale. Could you imagine if he announced for 2023 a 20th anniversary tour of Avalanche, maybe a reissue of the album with it, or playing the album in full. Or played rarities from Underdogs for that 25th anniversary or did a reimaged Underdogs like he did for BM? Or if you want to move away from nostalgia, a new album, maybe something upbeat and full band/electric that can release some of the anger over the past few years. Might even cause him to adjust his banter with more to talk about on the music end of things. I'm sure there's a lot more going on that I don't know, but from a fan perspective with no inner working knowledge, just thought I would throw that POV out there. No matter where you stand on the outside of music stuff, there really isn't much else to focus on so that negativity seems to rise to the top of conversation.

Being that it will be about 4 months between the coming shows and the last show, would be cool if during his downtime over the summer he dusted up and worked on a few uncommon or even something never played live before songs from the past to debut.

What an awesome find. Would be appreciated if you can get it transferred and it would be so cool if it does sound different. A new way to hear something we have all listened to one way for so long if so!

Listened to both parts, IMO it's very much worth a listen if you haven't already. Great interview. Hope the host can get an episode with Dave Genn.
-
Awesome, will check both parts out. Looks good and should be a nice compliment to Daniel's interview in 2020. Thanks for the heads up!

Very cool, thanks for going through them and posting. Looking forward to it. Might be some gems in there.

Awesome collection of jerseys. That low profile AOB white tee is cool too.

MGB Live in Coquitlam (1998)- Full Video Concert

There is nothing out there that compares to this show. With no official live video from the MGB days, it can't be overstated how awesome this is and how much work Daniel, Travis and Adam put into getting this out. Great stuff. -

Been a few months and made time the past few days to again listen to your album Mixed Emotions John. It's still really enjoyable every time. Voices, Essential Truth and Enchanted are probably my favorites if I'm forced to pick between tracks. But hard not to include Lovers Canyon, I really like that outro. Great musicianship but more importantly to me are all the great songs. Did you have any time between that recording schedule to get a band together and get these songs played live?
