I went to the Ottawa show, and honestly it was probably the best MG show I've seen since 2018 (I see at least one show every tour, except 2020 because COVID). First and foremost, his eyes were open, he was focused, no slurring, and he was actually hitting most of the notes. He actually sang all of Automatic, which I haven't seen him to since the early 2000s, and he nailed it. By the time Weapon rolled around the voice was getting rough, but still miles ahead of the last few shows. He made no mention of anything to do with Patreon or Zero Hours on stage. Closer was Pledge Of Allegiance, and one can only wonder if that's back in the set because of the lyrics...

As many of you have probably noticed, there are several gaps in the MG-related Discogs pages. I guess what I'm doing is putting out a call for anyone who actually owns any of these to get entries up on Discogs, so that anyone then selling would have an easier time doing so, and some of us may be able to complete our collections. -Rodchester Kings - Sleep cassette -Broken cassette -Left Of Normal cassette I seem to remember these three being up there at some point, might be crazy though. -Alabama Motel Room -Symbolistic White Walls -Haven't Slept In Years Surely these had promo CDs or even cassettes made for radio distribution, as these were the pre-internet days. -It's Been Awhile Since I Was Your Man -Oh Be Joyful -I'm A Window I'd assume these have the same cover as the digital releases. -Us Remains Impossible -In A Place Of Lesser Men -anything else 2011 or later that isn't an album

Not sure how common this knowledge is, but I only found this out last week. Someone recorded the Oct 12 2023 acoustic show in Milton ON, and at that show, Matt played most of a new (at the time) song called Dead On New Year's. I had never heard of this song before, and though it's pretty similar to One Of Them Years in terms of melody and chord progression, it'd be interesting to hear it with the band, this isn't a groove he uses often. Apparently there was a guitar solo planned that was skipped in this playthrough.

The only explanation that makes sense to me at this point is that Team Mangan would have caught wind of Team MG saying the vinyl would still have the songs cut from the digital release, and forced a situation where Matt had to either: 1. Release the vinyl with Too Much Emotion and risk legal action 2. Re-cut the vinyl (perhaps some LPs had even already been pressed at this point) without that song 3. Trash the project and refund everyone And they would have chosen option 2. This could explain why the track-by-track (which would've had Too Much Emotion printed in the middle of it) and the digital download (same reason) were omitted, as so much money would have already gone into re-cutting the LP and sleeves. Now it's just damage control as they get the re-cut LPs into the re-printed and re-signed sleeves and into the mail. This is purely speculation on my part, but it does cover a lot of the "but why" parts of this very frustrating situation. Honestly my bigger concern is that this nonsense is taking money and attention away from the LOTGA re-release, which I unfortunately will not be surprised to see buried after all this.

My bet's on Annabelle or Can't Get Shot...

Yeah Montreal didn't get Alabama though, I had to grab an Ottawa ticket to see that. One of the shows got Rabbits too.

Hey y'all, been awhile. This might be common knowledge at this point, I dunno, but I know some of you have been searching a long time for a lossless version of All Together. Well, I'm re-doing my music library and trying to plug holes, and just happened to find that 7digital.ca has FLAC All Together for sale! I don't know how long that's been there, but I had never found it before! There is also a live acoustic version of Prime Time Deliverance as a bonus track to Vancouver (likely from the same show as the other Vancouver digital acoustic bonus tracks). Go now, and send MG a couple of bucks so he can tour again when it's possible!

Rich Priske's new band
AnythingYouWant replied to Outtahere's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
From reading the blurb there, seems like a cover band. -
As someone with no record player and who is usually listening to music on the go, I just wish I could find some 24/96 vinyl rips of these, or hi-res digital files of anything older than CN.

Can't even get a ticket, let alone VIP.

Nope girl, sorry, Naveed/Clumsy era Raine looks like Jim Carrey, especially in the Naveed video. And big thanks to foats for the CBGB find!

Very bummed I missed out on a Montreal ticket, had to wait for payday after the onsale. Hopefully something will come up for a longtime fan of both bands, I remember doing a medley of Starseed and Carmelina in my high school band.

Pretty basic here: all CD releases (except Lo-Fi B-Sides of course), including two copies of Loser Anthems (one signed), plus Indestructible, Load Me Up and IAWCC singles. Two copies of ALTINLTL, one signed, and i think 5 setlists, 3 signed by MG and various other members of the 2002-2005 band. Also many tour shirts worn to faded.

I totally missed that bit, I was over by the place he parked for Let's Get It On. Gold.

Quebec, Montreal included, has a strange relationship with Canadian alt-rock in general. MG is not the only artist of his era to fall prey to this. Sloan, I Mother Earth, Age Of Electric, Limblifter, none of these bands really took off in the way they did in the rest of Canada, and have trouble getting shows here at all. The big exception is OLP, who have always had a large dedicated Montreal fanbase since they started out. Great show as always tonight (#14 for me). Usual amount of boneheads in the audience put a slight damper on certain parts, and something sounded strange with Jenni's (not just the 3 semitone drop), but it was still amazing to hear those BM deep cuts live for the first time. Stu was particularly in the zone tonight, definitely my favourite performance of his from the 4 I've seen.
