bought my parents a laptop through dell. cost a bit more but went with a good brand & it has some nice extra features most didn't have like firewire. so thanks everyone for their help, especially Anton. -
3/10. I can't read what it says.

i agree. I think some of these people are simply paranoid. And i'm sure a small percentage have geniune mental illnesses.

i only listen to the demos a few times when they first came out, before i knew they were going to be on an album. But now i dont listen to them because i dont want to ruin the album for me.

While i would believe the Bush admin would be morally capable of such a task, i think its virtually impossible to pull off such a stunt and get away with it. There would have to be a large number of people who would have to be in on the scheme to make it work (the planners, engineers, hijackers, people who planted the building explosives, top admin etc.) and the likelihood of none of them ever being exposed by a witness or exposing the plan themselves would virtually impossible. It would just be too hard to pull it off and not get caught. And seeing how the Bush admin so sloppily handled the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, they aren't even near competent to engineer such a grand plan successfully. And if this were true & they went to all the trouble, why not also plant WMD's & nuke equipment in Iraq after the invasion to make the war seem more legit?

Is there any large advantage to having Vista Premium? I compared the features on Vista Basic vs Premium and all i see is a much of extra software that i probably don't need (expect the mobile stuff is not bad). Can you use Premium on several different computers or something etc. ala XP Pro? edit: oh and i'm also thinking upgrading from the 4 cell to the 6 cell battery might be a good idea? -

I don't live in Saskatchewan you idiot. p.s. i read today that Canada is deporting some Iraq war resisters back to the U.S. So this isn't the land of U.S. refugees that some may think. though if anyone but the Conservatives were in power i doubt they'd be getting the boot. -

Also, the PC will have very likely an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator for graphics, which i read is on-board the motherboard & hogs the RAM and CPU. However, my parents won't be doing any graphically intensive things. Google Earth at the most, but they've rarely even used that. Because its cheaper, and my parents use a desktop from 2003 with little-to-no problems. But they'll likely get a 2-core i think. As i type this i'm using my 1.0Ghz AMD Athon, 512 RAM beast from 2001. But some streaming video on the web is starting to chop on this PC so i may have to upgrade soon too. -

Will a dual-core processor really matter that much if likely the most intensive thing my parents will be doing with their laptop is watching streaming video? I've rarely if ever seen either of them multi-task anything lol, beyond maybe having 2 webpages open at the same time. ;) But they will be running Vista (system hog), so that's a concern. -

The speech was good, but not one of his best. Is anyone else annoyed during his speecheswhen he does that folksy twang thing on the last word of every sentence/phrase? Like "God bless America". It sounds so phoney & annoying. Like there's some southern preacher tring to leap out of him. It was abnormally evident in his inaugural speech. But beyond that, the speech itself was pretty good but thought he could have done better. Better are just rhetoric and words. Time for the action. I'm happily suprised today to see him in a press conference announcing salary freezes for all his senior White House staff, and he announced/signed some pretty strict new rules against lobbying within his staff. I was a skepctic, but I think this guy could turn to be the living awesome shit afterall. -

No Muran, its true. Guys LOVE it when a girl is into "boyish" interests like they have, ie: watching or playing the same favorite sport, or anything nerdy like being into comicbooks, videogames, Star Wars etc. This is just a big turn-on for guys because its pretty rare, and having a girl who wants to sit down and play Halo or Guitar Hero with them is WAAAY better than having a girl be like "get off those damn games they're boring! Let's go see a Musical!". Just don't fake it, whch it seems your not. So ya, if u are single i'd totally be advertising u like this stuff, or if there's a guy u like and he likes any of that stuff make sure he knows it. For a girl, the nerdier the better! Its like having a guy friend with tits LOL. Best of both worlds. hell im turning this into its own thread in "sticky situations".
