  1. I like Stuart Cameron and the drummer, they were very good on tour. It will be interesting to hear them on the new record and hopefully the next tour also...though an acoustic tour would be even more awesome!
  2. RIP sexy girf who wanted to bump Picard. Truly a sad day, i'm sad, she was great.
  3. Wow, suprisingly big support for the 2nd shoeman conspiracy theory. I went for #44 cuz now obviously he has no shoes! So he's just walking around in socked or bare feet. Thats a crime in itself, & i feel bad for him cuz that would suck.
  4. Interesting theories, but i believe that the biography author, this youtube guy, and Chad Kreuger from Knickleback are all the same person.
  5. This makes me laugh on the inside very hard.
  6. These video links don't work anymore. When i try to play them it says "video was removed by the user", and why i click on the users name it says his account has been deleted. Fuck. Maybe the person couldn't handle his/her newfound fame & pulled a Dave Chappelle.
  7. At the time i saw this video for the 1st time & wrote the post above i had know idea what this "Rickroll'd" thing was. I guess thats why i thought this video was so bizarre. Now its just cool.
  8. dang that Spacestation pedal is wicked! I never knew pedals could do that kind of crazy stuff. Some of it sounds like a DJ scratching. I wish i were rich & could buy every pedal under the sun. I'm a novice guitar player, never owned a pedal before, so all the pedals are kinda confusing & overwhelming for me. On Dave Genn's pedel board, is the big blue pedal the whammy?
  9. I agree that this makes the Coalition seem less like power-grab losers. But without negotiations, or at least sitting down at the table & discussing things, i guess the Libs etc. assume Harper knows what kind of budget they want? Anyways, i read in the news that Ignatief has already talked privately with Harper (either yesterday or Thurs, can't remember) about the state of the economy & the budget. So wtf, i would kinda consider those to be negotiations. But i'm just glad they are talking instead of posturing like douchebags.
  10. I'm sorry, but this little dispute between u guys can only be settled by a hardcore freestyle rap battle. Now throw down bitches!!
  11. damn cool! thanks. I know the pedal you're talking about, ive seen it in stores (its bright red). I'm thinking of getting a digitech multi-effects processor pedal (rp250) soon, i'm think it may have the Whammy pedal effect built in. NEAT! BTW do you know anything about multi-effects processors for electric guitar? Are the Digitech ones good, or u recommend another thats under $200?
  12. Really, i didn't know that about the UK parliament. Why is it more common in the UK? Wouldn't the party leader + whips still hold the same kind of large power over the other MP's? Interesting, i should research that. It still has something to do with the politcal system though. The Westminster system has the head of gov't (the PM) also a member of the legislature (as well his the cabinet). Therefore the PM has a vote in the legislature, as do members his cabinet, so the PM can control the voting & discipline, as you say, members who don't vote with the party or speak out of hand etc. The U.S. system has the head of gov't (The President) seperate from legislature, so he has much less power over other party members in congress and also cannot table bills. I agree its only a "crisis" because we aren't used to coalition governments And i agree that the coalition isn't over. I was reading Ignatief's (sp??) comments in the newspaper today after he took over as Liberal leader. I like his stance, that its up to Harper to table a good budget to whether the coalition brings him down or not. However he also said he would not go into any negotiations with Harper about the budget, which i think is odd.
  13. A truly cool find! I love "My Out Of Style Is Coming Back", and it the vid started at my favorite part. I never knew the notes at the end were played by Glen of a guitar. Wow, i always thought they were done on a keyboard. Can't say i've ever heard that type of tone come out of a guitar before lol. Matt's hair is awful there haha. He looks like the guy from 'The Verve' or one of the Oasis brothers. Pew i'd give you some free NF points for the nice find if the NF store was up. YOU LOSE!!!!!
  14. Laissez-faire capitalism would destroy a great many of an individual's rights, not retain them. You have a delusional faith that free capitalism will self-correct everything justly, simply based on the principle of capitalism. This is not true. There is a ridiculas amount of corruption & moral malice than can occur when businesses are left unchecked. This occured was seen in the west after the Industrial Revolution. It is seen throughout history (ie: slavery, disgustingly long hours, horrible working conditions). You think that workers will just up & leave and magically find a better job with better pay/conditions if such occurs & all will wonderfully correct itself? Didn't & doesn't happen. The irony of what you're saying is that if you take away all regulation from business owners, then the business owners themselves become totalitarian dictators of their businesses. They can do anything they want to their employees, unless laws/regulations are set to protect them. Your argument might be "well they can just leave & find a new job because competition would create it, thus the system would correct itself". Thats almost exactly like saying that someone who lives in a country run by a totalitarian dictatorship can just up and leave his country if he doesn't like it. Its a lot more complicated than that. Like Marx, many of your ideas are based in theory and not reality. But i would like to know your definition of what "every individual's rights" are? I totally agree. And the Liberals & the coalition are a joke now. One day they want Dion for PM, the next they want him out. In a way i'm glad the coalition crisis came to be, but in other way its quite sad that the threat of elections/coalitions are the only way for the oppositions in a minority-controlled Parliament to have any leverage to disagree. Thats a mighty huge flaw in our gov't system. I like the U.S. system in that congressmen are able/encouraged to vote in the interests or their constituents foremost and not just along party lines.
  15. Was watching an interview with George W. Bush on ABC
  16. they seem to be getting worse every album.
  17. Album is good, not great. I like the Killers. They just make good songs, as annoying as they are to me the songs are just irresistable. "Human" is a stupid song. WTF does it mean????? "Are we human or are we dancer?" is the dumbest line in a song EVER! What does it mean? It makes no grammatical or logical sense. I think they just put it in there cuz they thought it sounds cool.
  18. Really? I thought a lot of them were PO'd. I mean the gov't does pretty much not give a poop about them (until the Cons got in). If Harper got ousted by Dion/Layton how upset would they be out there?
  19. Ya like Quebecers and western Canadians who want to separate lol
  20. Yes exactly. We vote for MP's, but most of them have little influence on policy other then giving suggestions from their constituents. The PM is all-powerful. He can tightly control individual MP's, who can do next to nothing about it. The PM has the final say on policy, who is in the cabinet, the PMO etc. Its sad and not very democratic, but voting for your MP doesn't mean much of a poop when they are forced to vote with whatever decisions the PM makes. But anyways lets just hope they all learn to work together a bit & avoid more power-hungry childish crap. All this is happening when they should be working on the economy.
  21. well, most of them were Jews. I love Jerry's taste in women. Its virtually identical to mine. All my celeb crushes made an appearance. I guess if you are Master Overlord of the show u get to pick your co-stars heh heh.
  22. How can you bring down a gov't only 2 weeks into its new mandate? They only had a throne speech and an "economic update". Harper is an extremely arrogant politician (i thought we were done with that for awhile when Chretien "retired"), he totally had the other parties by the balls his last term & motion after motion Dion was too much of a pussy to call him on anything & go for an election. So Harper tables some more arrogant motions last week & the opposition parties saw it as their 1st chance to form what is, IMO, a coalition that has been in the works since the end of the last election. These douchebags were just waiting for their 1st chance to bring the Cons down, and the Cons are douchebags for cornering them into this position. Why should Harper step down now? He was voted in by Canadians 6 weeks ago, & it would just create more chaos/instability. What he should do is take this proroguement period to reach out to the other parties, and the other parties should do the same & they should all GROW THE FUCK UP and sit down like adults & hammer out a budget that everyone is happy with. Harper missed a huge chance to reach out to the other parties during his national address the other night. If he continues to be an arrogant prick & the coalition takes power in Jan. then he should step down then (and will likely have massive in-party pressure to do so). As for the Governor General, she 's not a cunt, she had no choice as she doesn't have any real power at all. All of her "power" is just convention and ceremonial. She really had no choice to prorogue because thats what the PM asked & an election was out of the question. Bizud: Thats just your opinion, but your opinion lost last election. i didn't vote for Harper either, but thats democracy. Canada isn't the U.S. in the 60's where people just shot leaders whenever they disapproved of them.
  23. Yes, commonly its the thickest strings (6th & 5th strings) that rattle since they are a bit closer to the frets, and also because they are harder to press down fully. The problem is likely either: - you aren't holding down the fret quite hard enough (and what IamNick said) or - you are picking the string too hard. the harder you pick the string, the wider it vibrates or - something is off with your guitar. you may not have a proper bow in the neck, your neck may be warped, or the strings are too low to the fret-board (this is called "action"). This can all be fixable. If its an electric guitar, don't worry about it. My 6th & 5th strings rattle a bit, but as long as you can't really hear the rattle coming through your amp then its no problem. If the first 2 things aren't the problem & you think its the guitar, try bringing it into a guitar shop & just get an opinion if the rattle really bothers you (especially if its an acoustic).
  24. i just can't choose. Regina had a one really crappy album. But both ladies r awesome.
  25. I don't know if i can pick a best show of all-time. I guess its probably The Simpsons. My list for best ever, in no order: Simpsons The Cosby Show (wtf nobody has mentioned this???) Seinfeld South Park (keeps getting better!) Lost The Wonder Years Star Trek: TNG Da Ali G Show Mr. Bean Sesame Street (before they added "Elmo's World") The Tom Green Show (when it was on Rogers cable-access in Ottawa before picked up on Comedy Network, though 50% of that was still awesome but then he started getting into stupid shock-comedy. MTV-era really started to go downhill.)
