At least he's trying to do something. And he uses his celebrity to talk about important issues to the masses. And people listen to celebrities, like it or not. He could just be getting drunk in his spare time, so I'd say he's doing something.

I was wondering this as well. I's my understanding that BonTempp was made in 2001? But I've never heard of where the songs came from. I'm assuming they were website releases or something, but I've never been sure. Anyone?

You've never cared for Bono? But he's so weird and funny and such a rock star without being an idiot (most of the time). And aside from the picture, it's an interesting comparison becuase they're both quite involved in world issues. I don't know any other rockstar that gets invitied to UN meetings and the like with as much frequency as Bono.

I hope he'll be back, and I think he probably will be. Maybe he just needed a break. I can understand that. As I've said before, the stupidity and blatant ignorance of some people can be overwhelming. It gets to me just walking down the street sometimes, so I can only imagine what it's like to have all that directed straight at you on a daily basis en masse.

I whole-heartedly agree that it's okay to have your own opinion and disagree wit Matt. When that happens, fine, but as mentioned there's a lot of needless bashing going on. As someone who's been defending the Good's of late, it's mostly just trying to point out that making a stupid insulting comment just isn't fair, not here, or anywhere in life. It pisses me off when people feel the need to judge and just be negative for the sake of it. But if you come on with a valid opinion, then great! Let's talk about it and have a discussion. That's what most of us are here for. I enjoy talking to people that have different opinios than me, it opens my mind. For the most part, this is a good, intelligent group of people with interesting things to say, so let's keep it that way.

It's groups like this that ruin religion for everyone. Sometimes it'd be nice if they minded their own business. I don't harass them for worshipping a story book, so why can't they leave others alone.

I'm glad some people feel privleged enough to judge other people they've never met. Without them the world just might be a nicer place, and we can't have that can we.

I heard the DVD's won't be out for a little while possibly. The show is on NBC but it's produced by ABC or another network, something weird like that. So they're having troubles trying to figure out who gets money from the DVD's. Hopefully they figure it out soon.

I managed to find almost all the B-Sides including all of Histry Teacher on p2p networks. I even found a couple BonTempo tracks and a crap load of live stuff. It's all out there, it just takes some searching.

No matter what people think about the fear mongering, it worked. People were told to be afraid of terrorists and it kept people afraid. They felt that Bush had the answers and he was a tough guy who wouldn't be pushed around and he got re-elected. The US government keeps putting out lists of possible Canadian targets and trying to tell Canadians that they're not safe either, but most people here aren't buying it. I'm not sure why it is that many US citizens just eat it up. Maybe deep down people realize that the US does have more enemies because of the governments past "work". It's fine to be prepared, but to live your life always worrying about an attack that will probably never come is just crazy. That's not living.

Well I can't stand people who waste their time ranting about people who waste their time ranting against of for bands they do or don't like. Some people like to rant, some don't. But it's our own time so do with it what we wish and let others do with it what they wish.

I will miss the site very much. I can tell he put a lot of work into it. But I can't imagine what it's like to try to do something helpful and in turn be bombarded by negativity from the lowest common denominator of society everyday. Sometimes I get frustrated just being outside with other people. Best of luck to Matt in the future.

I don't think that this thread is actually about Elliot Smith. I'm not sure because I've never heard of just Elliot. But as good as Elliot Smith is, I know he doesn't sound like The Used, as mentioned in the first post.
