Lord of the Rings was fantastic! Star Wars is of course great, but George Lucas has mucked them up so bad I can't even remember what they used to be like. And if we're talking about the best trilogies, I think you're missing the most important one to cinema. I think it had something to do with God? Or Fathers?

This was the best show that never had a chance. It was finally something different and real, but because it was on ABC and didn't have a big enough draw, they canned it after the first season. Too bad. I was fifteen when it first came out and it was soooo good. Now just look at ABC. Sitcom crap hell.

I saw Copyright at some festival, maybe a Molson Canadian summer tour thing, in Vancouver a few years ago and they were hysterical. They were pretty bad and cheesy and the lead singer was way too intense. People started throwing little things to the stage and one guy threw a water bottle but it missed and just hit the stage. So the lead singer just picked it up and threw it as hard as he could back at the guy and hit him. Then he gave him a look like "You want more?" That was actually really cool.

Welcome to the Monkey House is a great read. It's a collection of short stories and they're just great. Jailbird was also interesting. It wasn't as crazy as some of his others, but it was a very well constructed story. Very cool. -

People too often accuse artists of "selling out": everything from commercials to a TV appearance on an awards show to signing with a major lablel or selling a lot of albums. I'm not sure who created this idea that all bands can only keep integrity by making their own albums in their friend's basement and playing small clubs. Some bands stick to this, fine, but most people are in a band because they love it and it's what they want to do for a living. Not many people can support themselves making a few bucks playing at a club and trying to pay their own way. An artist needs to make money to be able to keep doing what they love. So let's face it, commercials pay a lot of money for a song and it can probably help support an artist for a long time. Most bands don't last forever because the popular music scene is constantly changing so how can we fault someone for having the foresight to make money now while they still have all these opportunies?

I have no idea how you could forget War All The Time. It's pretty much the best album since, well, Full Collapse. -
What are you listening to?

Mad Season is a collaboration between a bunch of Seattle artists including Layne Staley (Alice in Chains), Mike McCreedy(Pearl Jam) and Barrett Martin(Screaming Trees). They put out an album called "Above" in 1995. It's pretty mellow and really good. Check it out if you like there bands. -
Yes I signed a contract so I can't say anything about the shows except that I work on them. As for SG-1, I've seen lots of Season 8! But of course I can't talk about that ;)

That is one sad list. Just throw in Alien vs. Predator and we are looking at one pathetic summer.

Yeah, I work a Post Production facility in Vancouver that handles a lot of the locally shot shows: Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, Dead Like Me and all that stuff.

I'm glad someone else out there likes Interpol. They're such a cool band and there's really nothing else like it. I can't wait to get the new album. -
Ewan McGregor doesn't have the bond look. Ioan Gruffudd is good, but I still say Clive Owen is the best choice.

I watched Season 1 but it really pissed me off when the pulled the amnesia card with Terry. After that I couldn't really get back into it. The first half of the season was so well crafted, and then it felt like they just started making it up as they went along.
