  1. They're not just releasing Donnie Darko again just to make some money to finance the next one. It's also to see what kind of interest there actually is in the movie. The movie didn't really do anything in theatres the first time around, but it got pretty big on DVD. You'll notice that the new Donnie Darko trailers say "A Richard Kelly Film". They're also trying to make his name more known so they can sell his next movie with his name and people will recognize it. I'm sure they could finance it now if that's all there was to it. So if you like Donnie Darko, go see it in theatres and we should get moe Richard Kelly films.
  2. Atlantis is great! I've never been an SG-1 fan, but I'm really enjoying Atlantis. I work on it so I've seen all the episodes so far and it's pretty cool.
  3. Clive Owen all the way! Ioan Gruffudd and Jude Law are too young and too cute. And Hugh Jackman is too gruff. James Bond is middle-aged, handsome and suave. Clive Owen fits the bill.
  4. A "straight to video" movie still costs a lot just to be made.
  5. Superman's Song - The Crash Test Dummies
  6. 1) Dead Like Me 2) Six Feet Under 3) The O.C. 4) CSI 5) The Sopranos
  7. I heard somewhere that it is supposed to be Clive Owen. And that would be great! Hugh Jackman is good, but he's no Bond.
  8. On My Own - The Used
  9. I think it's a good album. A second "Avalanche" would have been boring. It's good and raw and I hope that each album is this different from the last. It'll keep things interesting. There's nothing worse than a band that keeps putting out the same album year after year, like the last 3 from The Hip for example.
  10. Alright, is anyone else here a fan of Bret Easton Ellis? I've read all his books and I think he's the greatest writer. Although his style may borrow a bit from JD Salinger, he's great. Glamorama is my favorite book and it's probably the hardest one to figure out. I was wondering if anyone's read it and has any interesting theories on who's working with who and which characters are real? And if you haven't read the book, don't read any replies as it may ruin stuff should you ever choose to read it.
  11. It's been a very long time since I read Breakfast of Champions, but I remember that the main part of the story is about a writer, who's a bit of a mess, who has to travel to another city to get some sort of writing award. Meanwhile it intercuts with another story about a used car salesman who's losing it. That's all I can remember, but it was a great, very funny book. Check it out.
  12. Cash's version was cool because he made the song his own, but I don't think there's any way to top the original. And if anyone's interested, Cash aso did a cover of "Rusty Cage" by Soundgarden. Worth hearing, it's kind of funny.
  13. Well, considering that musical talent is somewhat lacking, I don't think a duet would be benificial to Matt's career. And yes he still lives in Vancouver. I actually saw her again the other day and Benji barking at my dog, but she looked like she was in a hurrry. But we did say hi, It was cool. She's very pretty.
  14. Blow Up The Outside World - Soundgarden
  15. Did anyone see the "Breakfast of Champions" movie? What a horrible waste of film.
  16. I think it's one of the best shows out there and I highly recommend it. You won't find anything like it. Season 1 is out on DVD now. Season 2 has just started airing on Showtime and it just gets better and better.
  17. Right now Six Feet Under is nearing the end of Season 4 on Movie Central. Season 1 and 2 are out on DVD and can be rented. Just a warning, Season 3 and Season 4 (so far) don't compare to the first two. It' still good, but it's lost some of the magic.
  18. They don't actually sing words. If they did I'm sure it would be Icelandic, but they use vocals just for the sound, as if it was another instrument. And the singer plays his guitar with a cello bow. Cool.
  19. The movie is playing in Vancouver at 5th Avenue Cinemas. Check out www.cinemaclock.com for showtimes.
  20. That is my favorite line! I got it off the website and I laugh everytime!
  21. The 90's did not suck! Some of the best music came out in the 90's, the early 90's anyway. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and the Smashing Pumpkins were at the peak their careers. Things were good until Kurt killed himself and that Britney and Backstreet Boy thing happened.
  22. I didn't say hi, she was across the street. They have three dogs, a smooth dachshund, an dachshund and possibly Yorky cross, I'm not sure, and the new one is a pomeranian/dachshund cross. (Dachshunds are wiener dogs.) I have a long haired dachshund myself so I'm sure one day I'll say hi. All us wiener lovers (wiener dogs, that is) like to chat about our funny dogs.
  23. Jenny Good! I live a couple blocks away from Matt and I just saw Jenny out for a bike ride with one of the dogs. I think it's Casey. Cute dog. PS - I'm not a stalker, it was purely a coincidence.
  24. I just got their first two albums in the mail today: "Von" and "Von Brigdi (Recycle Bin)" They were only released in Iceland but if you're willing to shell out some cash you can usually find them on Ebay. They're not as enjoyable as the most recent albums, but it's interesting to hear how they started out. Very dark and atmospheric.
