Yeah, there's nothing like fucking over someone else to serve yourself.

This is just a bad idea. I love the original, it was so good. And I really liked the second one after a few viewings and now I love it. I've managed to warm up to the third, but that was still a bad idea. It really lost something from the first two. But this just sounds awful and I hope it never happens.

I never said that if you're gay you can't believe in god. I simply said that there's a good chance someone wouldn't want to believe in a god that doesn't want them. But if there are gay people practicing a relgion that welcomes them, then should have full rights to marry in the eyes of that religion and whatever god they chose to believe in.

I agree that if a religion is againt homosexuality, then a gay person probably has no interest in that religion. But I do know that a friend of mine who is gay was into religion for a while and did find a Christian church that was very open and did accept gay people. I think that if he wanted to marry, and the church was willing to support that, then it should be allowed. And I'm prett sure there is a difference between civil unions and marriages, but like I said I'll try and find an article or something. And I can't remember if I heard it about Canada or the US.

Do People Have The "right" To Commit A Crime?
pearanoid replied to ecnarf's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
A lot of people seem to confuse privleges with rights. -
So what if marriage is just a religious title? I know gay people who are religious. Why should they be denied the title of marriage? Whether it's simply a title or not, it still isn't fair to deny some people that. Plus, and I'm not entirely sure here, but I believe there is more of a difference between marriage and civil unions that just the terminology. I believe people are entitled to more if they're actually married. Something about taxes and insurance claims and all that stuff. But I don't feel like looking for proof right now.

That's great to hear, I hope more countries follow suit very soon. Although to think that it will happen in the US anytime soon on a national level is laughable. When your leader is openly against it and just the act of being gay is still illegal in some states? Long way off, perhaps when they discover the wheel and fire. And with regards to this terminaology of what America means? If someone's just trying to nitpick at words, that's just silly. America is a term used to describe the US all the time, by Americans and the rest of the world alike. Should is be? Probably not since several other countries consist of the America's. But it's the way the word is often used in everyday speech. I was using it in everyday speech. Hopefully you'll have something better to contribute next time than just picking apart my words. But if you meant something else then I'd love to hear it. ;)

I've looked in all the major used CD stores in Vancouver and there's nothing. Even Zulu, home of all the rare stuff, has nothing rare. Disapointing. However, I can't help checking every now and then.

I heard his cover of Wonderwall on The OC and is was awseome. Kicks Oasis' ass out of Britain.

I think that needs to be added to the photo album or something. That's the best thing I've ever seen. Nice work.

Yeah, you may not even know it but the jokes on you sucker! Hahahaha.

I completely agree that it's the leaders that cause things to go back. But I think that it happened so long ago and has been continued by so many people that the whole religion is reflected badly. Which is very unfortunate. It really helps some people but the ideas really bother me and overshadow the good. EDIT: I also have to go, but I look forward to continuing later. ;)

I think religion and politics should just be kept apart. To assume that everyone in your country follows the same beliefs is just ignorant. But I think we're all in agreement on that. Summerbronze, I just want to clarify what I said earlier. I think the ideas behind religion aren't that bad. And I don't think that all religious people are bad and intolerant. I have some friends who are very religous and I couldn't ask for a more caring or open minded friend. However, I believe that the way religious institutes are run today are harmful to society. Now you're right, generalizing that much isn't really fair because their are some people out there trying to change things. But overall, some of the beliefs put out there are just mind boggling. Some of the ways the muslin religion is being bastardized is a good example, as are the recent thoughts from the Pope about condoms and homosexuality. I don't know a lot about other world religions such as buddism, so maybe that's okay, but the religions I have come into contact with haven't given me a good reason to think otherwise.

Ocean's Eleven was a pretty good remake. But that's all I got, you're right.

I think tha it was exrtemely well written and acted and directed. It's a very rare movie and such a nice change. I'm just wondering what all those people who hated it would comsider a good comedy?

Funny thing is that they're doing 2 weeks of extra shooting in Vancouver. That's never a good sign. I start working on it tomorrow.

U2 Vertigo Tour
pearanoid replied to radio_bomb's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
My friend is a member of the fan club and he's getting advanced tickets I think. I also think he's getting me one which would be great! I'm looking forward to it as I haven't seen U2 since the Popmart tour in Vancouver in 1997. -
Maybe this was brought up, i just skimmed most of the replies, but... Canadians are Americans, so saying that Canadians want to be Americans is... wrong... becuase they are. Yeah, I think the post you're refering too was a joke. And you'r post just doesn't make any sense. If it's a joke, then it sure doesn't come across that way. But if you are indeed serious, we're all in a lot more trouble than we thought.

I also have to agree with the whole "sanctity of marriage" thing. It's total BS. I don't know how anyone can think that a gay marriage won't be as strong as a straight marriage, it's ridiculous. Besides, how can you take the sanctity of marriage defense seriously when one of the world's greatest role models, Britney Spears, gets married for only a few hours. That's better than a gay marriage?

Are you talking about homeless people or are you making a gay joke?

Good beer, friendly people, open minds, yeah, Canada's good.

That's funny that you say that. I've been writing a Zelda script and if I ever manage to finish I'm going to seriously try and sell it. Maybe I should start another thread and see if any Zelda fans have any input on what they'd want to see in a Zelda movie. I'll start it in the lounge if anyone's intersted.
