Cool. And hey, I just made it past 300 posts. Sweet.

Actually there are several posts like that from Metroids heading over to the new board. I was just curious which one it was. And nice work Sparq! Very impressive.

Good Intentions Pave The Road To Hell
pearanoid replied to TheRat's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
I wish this was always true. I always treat people with respect and kindness, but there are some real assholes out there. It's depressing. -
Who's ass did you kiss to score coin like that?

There's several threads on this if you need more info. But basically, he got pissed off with people's stupid comments and emails. He took the comments section away for a bit, then put it back. This happened 5 or 6 times. Then he got in a fight with some people on The Metro and they harassed him at home or something so he took down the site and decided to take a break and go to Europe. Something like that anyway.

That's a very unfortunate way to vote.

True, talent is more important. But you can't deny that image plays a huge part. Name a big or popular band that doesn't have an image.

I think when making a video game movie you have to decide whether it's going to take place in magical video game land or the real world. You can't combine both, and Super Mario Bros. is proof. See also: Double Dragon with Scott Wolf. Actually, don't see it.

I said that my example was extreme. The point is that the glasses are part of the image and the image is a necessary part of being a big band. It's part of the band's overhead. Saying that buying glasses takes away from what he could give to other people is a really lame argument. Actually, I don't even know why I'm still arguing this.

That was me. And I wasn't slagging Queen, I was just making the point that they're dated, mostly in the video sense. And Depeche Mode rocks. Matt Good does well with "Enjoy The Silence" but I do think the original is king.
-
So do I. The glasses are part of the image which is part of being a star. Compared to what Bono makes, does, and gives, it's a small cost. If he lost the glasses, he could lose the fans, lose the celebrity status and have nothing to give. I know that's a little extreme, but you get my point.

I found the complete History Teacher stuff way back when Napster was still around. It's not as easy now, but it's out there.
-
Alright, I think we've reached a new level of stupid within this thread. Nice work.
-
Your original list looks pretty good. The only thing you're really missing is Matt yelling at the crowd. It's gold. Also, you haven't included the History Teacher Demos or the BonTempo stuff. As far as alternate version, here's what I came up with: Apparitions (Acoustic) Lullaby For A New World Order (Acoustic) Weapon (Soundtrack Version) Near Fantastica (Short Version) Nation of Cool/Near Fantastica (Acoustic) Plus there's a whole bunch of live stuff out there that totally worth it. I know you wanted jsut rare or unreleased stuff, by why stop there.

To a certain extent I think you just have to worry about yourself first and not other people. This doesn't mean be selfish, but make sure that you're doing what you want and how you want. Don't be fake. Sometimes you may have to put people out, so what, they'll get over it. Generally if you're making yourself happy, then you'll actually be happy. And if you're happy around other people too, then they'll be happy. Then it's a big happy world. -

You have to start using puncuation, that was painful to read. Matt Good rocks. Bono rocks. U2 rocks. Five for Fighting do not rock.

I say thank god they never played Suburbia on the radio. The radio has a way of playing songs to death. Even if you don't want to hear a song, somehow you always do. Suburbia is my favorite MGB song and I love that I can only hear when I want to. Load Me Up is a good example of a great song that I kinda got sick of because I heard it way to much. Most of the music I like doesn't get played on the radio, and for that I am greatful.

But does anyone know how it was released? Website? Yes? No?

The movie is 100% gold! I still think the breakfast scene at Mark's with the knight is one of the funniest things ever written.
-
Yeah, but the way Matthew Good talks is doing something. He's using his celebrity to educate people and try to change people to think differently and act themselves. That's an important thing as well because instead of just one person doing something, you can have many.
-
Nope, he's just one of them Metroid folks trying to stir up trouble. Just ignore him and he'll go back to the other forum.

Ouch, I think someone hit a nerve!
