Is it Silent Army in the Trees? I think my favourite is Fought to Fight It. I quite like the bit different sound.

I have no clue if you'd be into them but my favourite albums are Bellaclava and I/O. I'd say if you were going to pick one you should try Bellaclava first because it probably has the best mix, although I think my personal favourite is I/O. I'm pretty sure Meegee did bass and that's it from what I recall reading. -

Well I might come across defensive because I have given all his most well known projects a chance and I think some work and some don't. Just because I'm hyping his abilities doesn't mean I find everything he does quality work. -
It sounds pretty nice to me. A little more musically adventurous.

I've listened to more than enough. I try to stick to his bands that actually create something resembling actual music. -

Ryan's solo album is apparently complete and has 12 songs I believe. Unfortunately we probably won't hear it until late spring to early summer. -
Me also please? Thanks.

I've just been listening to some of his stuff again (FNM, some Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk) and shhhiiiit! If there was ever a vocalist that could make you jealous of his abilities this is the guy. He is truly the most utterly broad, vast vocalist I have ever heard. It seriously seems he can do it all. Everything and in between. He's a very good straight up singer with a large amount of range, he can do almost any style you can think of and all or most very well that I've heard and he can scream like no other. And I mean some very insane, interesting screaming that sounds inhuman at times. Not just "let's see how typically loud and aggressive I can possibly scream for the sake of it". I know you know, I just want to express how phenomenal I think his voice is. What's to say about FNM that hasn't been said before? They're broad and excellent and very influential. They did a lot of stuff more modern bands do as good (or close to, depending) and better. I think my favourite albums by them are Angel Dust and Album of the Year actually. KFAD is very good and varied but I think overall AOTY takes the cake between those two for me. Now on to the other side. I'm not one of these (seemingly very common) mega passionate fans who thinks he is almighty and can do no wrong. At the same time as all that positivity I think Mike Patton has been involved in a very decent amount of genuine garbage. Some too noisy, too random, too stupid stuff where I don't consider it music at all. I think although it's all so strange that the Mr. Bungle album has a lot of really (goodly) unique and interesting stuff on it but there's still a good amount I don't care for much at all. Disco Volante is mostly too far gone and California is more sane and decent. I won't even say much at all about Fantomas other than from what I've heard it's mostly wasted time and space. Tomahawk has some really decent to good stuff and I recall thinking Peeping Tom was mostly shit and don't see why anyone would think it's anything remotely close to great. Anyways, that's enough for now. I'll just say I am well mixed with my opinions of Mike's work but he is just so skilled and an utter vocal genious to be denied. He is not nearly as widely known as he should be. This doesn't mean he's my personal favourite vocalist, but he is definitely a talent to be reckoned with. -
The man of 1000 voices as I've read, and heard. Talk.

I am not saying you can't have a different opinion. I am saying in my opinion it is high quality songwriting and if you don't see it as that, it's not my problem. I'm sure I wouldn't see some of your music tastes as quality songwriting so you could say the same thing about that. I did reply to your post but I was also just stating my opinion. I am not getting defensive, it was you who came across as defensive for no reason when I wasn't trying to start an argument at all. I was simply talking about what this thread is for in response to what you said which the last time I checked wasn't illegal. -

I had/have no intention of arguing and am not trying to prove a damn thing. I said my opinion. It's not my problem if you don't know quality songwriting when you hear it. I am not going to argue with you and if you want to be a bitch about it I won't reply anymore. -

Actually, Richard really knows how to write music. Title of Record is all you need to hear to see his music writing abilities. Also Amalgamut, but I can see that not being as good of an example. Short Bus is great with the strong distinct Filter sound but can get to be a bit much for me at times with all the screaming and whatnot. TOR really mixed everything up excellently and showed an overall drastic improvement. I think Amalgamut is a refreshingly different sound somehow yet still has many classic Filter elements. Where does he get off comparing? Well I don't know about Al Jourgensen but as far as Nine Inch Nails goes, I think he gets off comparing very well as I think NIN is overrated and they don't really interest me at all (yes I've heard some of their music). And I'm sure Filter's music would appeal to me more than Ministry's as well. -
Yeah it is a bit different, but I think I like it. Richer, nice sounding. I'm not sure if the drumming style is the best but it does the job.

Manchalivin replied to sodamntired's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
Well I basically don't read books but if I do I probably won't finish anywhere near the whole thing. Except maybe in this case I will though with my recently bought At Last There is Nothing Left to Say. -

I recently purchased some little nuggets that are harder to find now. Terminator 2: Judgment Day Ultimate Edition DVD with more features than your mother and an even harder to find The Terminator Special Edition DVD with the original hologram cover and solid amount of extras. -
What Did You Last Watch On Tv?

Random infomercials. I enjoy watching them sometimes because most of them are so retarded they're hilarious to make fun of.
