  1. Interesting, because that's what the beginning of Little Terror reminds me of. Something off TCATS, like My Hero with the drums. I agree. Now if Foo Fighters were still writing songs like they did in The Colour and the Shape days or from their first three albums at least then they wouldn't need Matt to make them good but now that is clearly somewhere they're lacking that Matt isn't - songwriting department.
  2. Yeah, you're probably right and that's the point of the single anyway.
  3. That's what I'd prefer as well even though I think White Light is a fine album. Something more Underdogs-esque.
  4. I would say that it has been butchered. It sounds odd and cut and pasted to me.
  5. I obviously love those parts (how could a MG fan not?) but I am content with that not being so much a part of this album. It's something different for him and it's nice to have something different for an album. We already have albums of that and I'm sure we'll get more in the future. I like the happier sound of this record and there still are those really strong vocals, just not quite the same.
  6. MGB: Giant Change of Season MG: Last Parade Empty's Theme Park (I was going to pick House of Smoke and Mirrors but this song is more specifically good as a closer)
  7. Seconded.
  8. Actually I was kind of concerned when I was looking at the cd in Walmart. You can't really tell there's anything in there. Both sides are really thin and I was wondering what the heck the deal was, but alas, taking the packaging off revealed a tiny sleeve where the booklet managed to fit. So no worries with the Walmart version varekay. Yeah, I'm kind of picky about bass when listening on headphones and I find this cd to have enough. And hooray for Vancouver!! I just read that on MG site.
  9. Check the Matthew Good Upload Thread.
  10. Yeah, that's a song I think definitely would mess up the flow of the album. It doesn't sound like it would fit at all. Hmmm, that's strange. I don't know why or how that would be. I haven't tried it on my stereo but it does sound fine on headphones.
  11. Yes, but once again it didn't say that price anywhere. I'm just saying. Obviously it's some kind of a sale. Don't make something out of nothing. Anyways, does anyone know where the Lone Gunman demo is from or when it was written? A b-side we just didn't hear from Vancouver? And for those who have heard it, what do you think of it? I think it's got a cool vibe and kind of like it.
  12. Yeah I know but I thought since it just came out and the sticker already said the decent price of $14-ish it wouldn't be cheaper than that yet and it was just put there so it wouldn't be changed already.
  13. My copy that I got from Walmart was actually around 12.99 and I only realized yesterday, a few days after I got it, because my total was 17 some odd dollars and it said 14 something on the package so I thought with tax that made sense but looked at my receipt and recalled I also bought some candy and that now wouldn't make sense. So it was about $13 before tax and I thought that was really cool. Got a newly released CD even cheaper than sticker price somehow. Cheaper than I got Hospital Music for and that was already cheaper than most new albums I've bought in the past were. Hahaha, I'm sure you all care too so I'll end this.
  14. Yep, I think you got a good point. The people who haven't heard it and aren't buying the album are the main target anyways and they wouldn't know the difference yet so they could probably make it work as a 4 or so minute song for them. And then, BAM, some new people buy the record and get treated to the proper version and it's that much better. The well shortened song may not be near as good to us but who cares? We can always listen to the longer version. But yeah, they should just play the whole thing, but I doubt they would. And I agree lyric wise with the "We all live downtown, we all die downtown, step over ourselves", that could maybe really get into some people's heads.
  15. I think I know what you mean with this. That's something I thought recently about this album, that there isn't really any song where the vocals stand out in that way, where Matt has those super passionate and/or haunting sounding particularly delivered vocals that can give you goosebumps but I don't think this album is meant to be that way and I really enjoy this collection of songs. It's different but I think his vocals on this album fit the music nicely and are still plenty powerful throughout, just in a different way. And I'm not disappointed with that for this album. I like it because the album has a different vibe, and is kind of refreshing in my opinion. I like that it is so melodic and thick and much more light and upbeat than Hospital Music. Just what he needed I think and what I'm sure most fans wanted to hear. The songs are well written overall and sound really nice and quite a few parts even catchy but not in a cookie cutter cheesy radio rock kind of way. The Matt Good kind of way.
  16. I love Empty's Theme Park as a closer. It fits so good and I like it much better now than the original demo. I thought it was musically pretty great since the second demo but now I like the whole thing. The chorus is really nice. I do like this version's chorus better than the first demo's.
  17. I purchased the CD today. I would have yesterday but it didn't work out. Stupid paper case, was my immediate thought upon seeing it in the store, but it's better than some and the booklet is pretty nice. I really like the drums or whatever it is that sounds so unique in Fought to Fight It. When I first heard the stream it sounded cheesy or something to me, I was iffy on it but something about it has dug its way into my head and I now love the way it sounds in that song.

    A Game

Lol, that just so happens to be my best of. ;)
  19. Cool, the stream will still be up until later tonight. A sort of mega-mix including Vancouver according to mg.com. It was just playing Flashdance II and now It's Been a While Since I Was Your Man and Black Helicopter.
  20. That's such an easy one it's just retarded, hahahaha. Avalanche. Prime Time Deliverance Vs. Change of Season
  21. I honestly don't know which one I like more, but I'll say Everything is Automatic. Invasion 1 Vs. Look Happy, It's the End of the World I just listened to Underdogs and LHITETW is a pretty awesome rock song. Possibly a new favourite on there. Hard and more upbeat, I think it's really cool.
  22. Why do this to me!? They're both too damn good but for now I pick While We Were Hunting Rabbits. A Long Way Down Vs. Double Life
  23. Electric Failing the Rorshach Test Vs. Going All The Way
  24. Truffle Pigs Suburbia Vs. House of Smoke and Mirrors
  25. Oh man, that's such an easy unquestionable one. Near Fantastica (Acoustic) by miles and miles. North American for Life on Rooms is one of the extreme few Matt songs I'd go as far as to say it sucks. It is SOOO boring and I don't like it one bit. I really like the WL version however. It's close but I'll go with Odette. Avalanche Vs. While We Were Hunting Rabbits
