He may be brilliant in some aspects but he's dumber than shit in others.

Why is that FREAK being brought up on a Matthew Good fan forum?

Ok, I made a change to my 30 song list and this keeps it consistent, in that it's all MGB/MG official album songs. I replaced The Ocean with (yeah you guessed it AnOceanPearl) Middle Class Gangsters. -

I've thought about doing it for a while but now that I took the time to make a best of I'm happy with I'm finally going to burn it to a disc, in randomized order, and at 320 kbps. That's what I'm talking about. ;) -
Except you're missing one important member from the real version: Going All The Way. You've got A Boy and His Machine Gun listed twice.
-
One of the greats, definitely. And damn that solo towards the end is such a fitting cherry on the top.
-
It's not #1 for me but definitely a top 10 or maybe even 5. Always nice to see little stories like that and damn right "the much superior Canadian version of BM".

Lol, with the anger. And I agree with your post. Sorry Shortcut to Moncton and anyone else who picked the Rooms version. As I said it's just my opinion and I shouldn't have been so harsh because no matter how badly I think of it, we all have different opinions and are entitled to them. I just found it so surprising anyone picked that one.

Beautiful Midnight is a Greatest Hits album.

Advertising on Police Cars Alert Status Red The Lone Gunman The Rat Who Would Be King Empty's Theme Park Blue Skies Over Bad Lands Lullaby For The New World Order Hello Time Bomb North American For Life (easy win of the elimination) (I HATE the Rooms version) OHHH!!! *Slaps you with the RETARD stick!!!!* Not really that serious but I can't imagine how anyone could pick the Rooms version over the original. Not that the original is that great but the Rooms version is just so DREADFULLY, painfully almost, BLAND, DULL and BORRRRRING. Sorry but I felt compelled to say something about this unbelievably atrocious choice. Easily one of the worst things Matt's done. Still just an opinion though.

I played by the rules before so now I'm posting my proper 30 song Matthew Good greatest hits, adding some I unfortunately left out because of the 24 song limit and making it a nice even 30 songs. And I could easily add more but I figured it would be too much for a greatest hits. This overall most reflects my thought of his best songs, random ones could be removed or added at anytime though but this is a pretty perfect list to me. Vancouver excluded. 1. The Ocean 2. Symbolistic White Walls 3. Everything is Automatic 4. Apparitions 5. Prime Time Deliverance 6. Indestructible 7. Change of Season 8. Strange Days 9. I Miss New Wave 10. Failing the Rorschach Test 11. Load Me Up 12. Suburbia 13. Going All The Way 14. A Boy and His Machine Gun 15. The Future is X-Rated 16. Born to Kill 17. Tripoli 18. Advertising on Police Cars 19. Truffle Pigs 20. The Rat Who Would Be King 21. Lullaby For The New World Order 22. Weapon 23. In a World Called Catastrophe 24. Avalanche 25. While We Were Hunting Rabbits 26. Near Fantastica 27. This is hard even with 24 songs. But here is closest I could decide: 1. Symbolistic White Walls 2. Everything is Automatic 3. Apparitions 4. Prime Time Deliverance 5. Indestructible 6. Ahhh, A Boy and His Machine Gun is just what I was thinking and is my choice for underrated MGB song. Good to see, I figured no one would pick that one. Honestly, I think that's very possibly a top 3 MG song for me and it seems to get very little attention. And for solo I agree The Boy Come Home is a really good choice. I think it's quite overlooked. My choice for underrated solo song though is Lullaby for the New World Order. That's one of my favourite Avalanche songs and I love what it talks about but see almost no mention of it. Other underrated songs: Middle Class Gangsters Look Happy, It's the End of the World Failing the Rorschach Test I Miss New Wave Bright End of Nowhere The Devil's In Your Details

Black Helicopter: 1. Massey Hall 2. Hospital Music 3. Live acoustic Everything is Automatic We're So Heavy A Single Explosion Bad Pennies I Miss New Wave Anti-Pop 21st Century Living Truffle Pigs This is the first round I actually downloaded a couple songs just so I could decide. They would be Strangest One of All and Native Son. I have the albums but was too lazy to go get them.

Super Fun Bonus Round! (2009 Mg(b) Elimination)
Manchalivin replied to rebellious_L's topic in Matthew Good
I agree Apparitions should be on the list as well as Black Helicopter. I think I still like the original Apparitions better but the way they did it at Massey Hall was really nice and it could be a very close match-up. The live version of Champions of Nothing is better but my pick is Blue Skies Over Badlands. It's definitely a standout of this live album. I'm sad to see CON winning by so much and that I'm the only one to vote for BSOBL so far. -
Official Tour Setlist/review Thread 2009/2010
Manchalivin replied to here is no why's topic in Matthew Good
Agreed. And what is the problem with Middle Class Gangsters? I don't understand why you're so against that song. It's not Rico. Not only is it nowhere near horrible, it's actually a pretty kick ass song with a sweet Dave Genn solo. -
Last Parade Sort of a Protest Song While We Were Hunting Rabbits Going All The Way Little Terror Empty Road Middle Class Gangsters Great Whales of the Sea A Silent Army in the Trees (live acoustic) Wow, ONE person besides me picks the acoustic SAITT? I find that so strange because I thought almost everyone thought it worked better acoustically and practically every single person so far has picked the album version.
-
Oh yes, I do know the song then and prefer the original, although I really like the acoustic version, so I picked the right one. But, what does the HOSAM stand for? And if it's what I thought then what's the deal with that?
-
Indestructible Suburbia Put Out Your Lights House of Smoke and Mirrors Symbolistic White Walls Double Life Fought to Fight It The Fine Art of Falling Apart Near Fantastica* I don't even know what Near Fantastica (HOSAM) is. I assume HOSAM stands for House of Smoke and Mirrors but don't know why they're put together. Whatever the case, it's natural that I just pick Near Fantastica.

Am I The Only One Up For Another Straight Rock Album?
Manchalivin replied to ccf23's topic in Matthew Good
Wrong and maybe right as well. The Colour and the Shape beats anything Nirvana did anyday and is easily Dave's greatest accomplishment. But he did also do most of the drumming on that album according to what I've read (I never used to know that) and I think it shows because it's definitely the standout drum album of the Foo's as well.
