The only one that comes to mind for me: Deftones - Diamond Eyes -
That's interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Cold Harbour? (lights Of Endangered Species Megathread!)

The latest song is called Zero Orchestra from what I can tell and he's made it sound like it will be the single which really excites me being that it's one of the most blatantly different songs we've heard from this new album so far. Ex fans or casual listeners of his might be in for a shock when they hear it. Since I happen to really enjoy this song for whatever reason that's a good thing to me. I honestly think he could possibly have a sizable hit on his hands with this one because I think it's really catchy in its own way. P.S. According to Matt Good there is NO guitar in this song. -

New song is sounding real good. Just when I think it's done he pulls out the guns yet again with a gem of a song. This one is more laid back than most of the songs so far and is really catchy to me, but in a good way. It sounds more upbeat and is chock full of piano and brass. Interestingly, I think it may be called Zero Orchestration. This sounds like single material to me. -
I could be wrong but it's really looking like Warne Livesey will be producing the next record. Matthew said he doesn't want to work in a big studio this time around, but either a house or a lesser known studio.

Well obviously no one wants to listen to the same one thing over and over again but when you find something you really connect with in some way or another and are a big fan, I expect most wouldn't go a long time or years without going back to it again. I listen to other stuff too but MG's music is what I'm closest to. Fair game. If it reminds you of a darker time in your life I certainly understand you not really being into his music anymore. I understand. I didn't mean a fan of Matt as a person though, I just meant his music. He was best in the MGB days in my opinion as well (specifically Underdogs-Beautiful Midnight), but I still really enjoy a fair amount of his solo work.

Ha, that'd be the day, when grape is best. Cherry the tops, orange the second, grape, blah.

So you're not that much of a fan then? Or what do you mean you're kinda over it? Since I became a big fan of Matt a few years ago he's been about the only constant for me in terms of music. While my interest in other things comes and goes, MG remains. Not that I listen to his music constantly but I always seem to come back to him even when I have a bit of a break from listening to his music. What do you listen to now? Just curious what you mean by he's a bit dark for your current tastes.

I believe he said it will most likely be his last full album, yes. But he's still gonna make music, just releasing a few songs at a time which would be a great disappointment for me. I love the full album. Hopefully he'll change his mind by then but if he doesn't at least we'll still get music and an upside could be that we get new music more frequently and a larger variety of music. But whatever the case, it would suck if the next one is the last proper album.

Oh was he talking about maybe starting recording this fall? I thought he said in one of his posts or comments that he wouldn't be going into the studio until late next year at the earliest which I found surprising considering how much he's got done. I probably misunderstood though. That would be great if this record could actually come out next year.

Damn it people, post in here already so I don't have to multiple post. Shallow's Low contains one of the most beautiful and brilliant rock-outs/solos of Matt's career I think. It reminds me of the creativity of rock-outs ala Change of Season and Born to Kill. Not that they sound similar, as this doesn't sound quite like anything else Matt's done imo, but in how grand and awesome it is with regards to the rest of the song. With some different instrumentation this time around, this part is so melodically brilliant. It is too good to not make the final record. And to think this is done with a computer program. Sorry, I'm not here to try and tease people into signing up for M+, but I am just excited about how this record is coming along so I want to share it with fellow fans/M+ members.

Hyped to shit! Hyped to shit! I wonder how long this record will take. It seems a might more complex and more involved than the last couple records and possibly all of his records. -
Holy shit, I keep saying how random songs and parts are sounding different for Matt but I just heard What If I Can't See The Star's, Mildred? and the first listen it blew me away! It is the most overall different and unique sounding song I've heard from this record so far I'd say and it seems like Matt is sure on it making the record. It's one of the most unique things I think I've ever heard from MG. Not just the instrumentation, bu the vocal approach and delivery, pretty much everything. If I thought I was interested and excited before, now I really am hyped to shit for how this final record is gonna sound.

Pretty sweet birthday present for us.... on Matt's birthday! He posted every song that's made the cut for the record so far, I believe 7 in total.

In some pictures I think the brunette is really nice looking, but in some pictures she also looks extremely similar to Kirsten Dunst to me (but better), which isn't the greatest thing. The blonde is also really nice in some pics and probably the best looking one. Sounds like she has the strongest voice too. -
The longer update he just posted to this song is fantastic. Quiet building to a melodic rock out unlike others he's had I think.

I like that Matt seems really determined to make a WHOLE album where every song sounds new and interesting for him. He's posted a couple demos that I personally really like but has made it sound like they won't make the next record because they have parts that sound too typical or familiar of him. His latest has got some really interesting drumming.

I've only been a member for a few days but it seems he leaves them up for a day or two or until he posts another one. That one he let everyone hear is called In a Place of Lesser Men and as far as I know it's not up anymore. Perhaps I could swing a little something something your way though.

Since he has posted Hornets with vocals and an updated A Short Time on Earth. My my my is this record gonna be different I think but I have pretty high hopes it will be awesome. This latest one is real different for Matt and intrigued me right away.

It talks about other things as well but the curious thing is this: "I

Today he posted a near-finished version of Hornets without the vocals.
