Yep, Ryan apparently removed his stuff from there after this screw up. This guy really goes out of his way to make his fans happy. Anyways, here's some pictures of the free stuff he sent me. The vinyl has lyrics printed, the cd does not. It also has an extra track. Too bad I didn't have a record player though, but I'll get one yet I'm sure.

It's not terrible but it just bores me.

Empty's Theme Park The Rat Who Would Be King Born to Kill Running For Home Prime Time Deliverance Avalanche One of the easier rounds actually.

Weapon House of Smoke and Mirrors Great Whales of the Sea 99% of Us is Failure Advertising on Police Cars A Boy and His Machine Gun (both spectacular, picking this because I think it will be the lesser voted on) Many of these are really close.

Wow, this guy is the nicest musician I know of and I haven't even met him. There was a little fiasco with Sandbag Records (one of the companies that sold his new record) where I bought his new album and it was never sent out, even now after over 3 months. I have no clue why but after numerous email exchanges with people from the company that weren't even responsible for shipping the orders, it finally seemed to be getting worked out now and then I get an email from Ryan Dahle himself and now he's taken the matter into his own hands and it's not his responsibility or fault whatsoever. So he says it won't happen again because he's had his merchandise removed from the Sandbag website and on top of my order of just his CD, I am getting a free signed vinyl plus I believe a free t-shirt for my troubles and him and Megan personally sent it out to me!! It seems too good to be true. How freaking AWESOME is that?

Age Of Electric
Manchalivin replied to ecnarf's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Just came across an interesting thing I don't think I've read before about the possibility of an AOE reunion from Chart Attack. Age of Electric Members Writing Together, May Reunite -
According to Wikipedia the budget is $237 million. I know it's Wikipedia but no way was it $500 million. And, so much hype for so little. This movie may overall be impressive visually or effects-wise but it can't be that quality of a movie. I don't think it will be awesome just because James Cameron, who I think is one of the best directors out there, directed it. It doesn't look like my kind of movie but I seriously don't think it could be that great.

What, y'all have the recordings I've only heard about but never been able to find? And now it seems they're gonna be made available. -
Limblifter (superthread)
Manchalivin replied to Poprocks's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Cool beans. Some releases/re-releases for Limblifter as well. Set for re-release exclusively on iTunes worldwide on Dec 8th 2009 Limblifter -'Limblifter' (1996) and 'Bellaclava' (2000) The Age of Electric - 'Untitled' (1995) and 'Make a Pest a Pet' (1997) And there's more (posted by RD on his website)............. Kurt recently brought up the idea of releasing the Limblifter demos that lead to the first record which we'd recorded on the four track, that is arguable better than the record. I've dug up the original cassette masters that I'd buried in the back yard and will master it and release it in the new year, time permitting. Limblifter's I/O, the third record, is still available through iTunes at least in Canada and the US. -

I think I have some news of interest for you AOE fans. It sounds like we may soon be able to have the long lost Latest Plague and Electric albums remastered along with some other goodies. This was posted on Ryan Dahle's website: The First couple of AOE releases will also be coming down the pipeline as well in the new year, I will reconstruct those and master the first one that was only released on cassette so everyone can listen to 'Aphrodisiac Smile' 'til the cows come home! There is also at least four unreleased songs from 'Make a Pest a Pet' that will also be put out there, that are surprisingly good, they were left off the record because they seemed unfinished back then, but in retrospect were a bit rougher around the edges, more punk rock, angrier songs.... Well, there you have it, that's the real news in AOE-land. Now Chart can update with some facts. -
Them Crooked Vultures
Manchalivin replied to Audio of Being's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I really like Scumbag Blues and there are a couple other standouts. Overall I'm enjoying it right now but I don't think it's very memorable and a couple songs wander too much and they'd be better off without it. Not worth all the hype but I really like that it sounds like they really enjoyed working together. -
Why are there only 6 this round?
-
Near Fantastica Born Losers (they're pretty close) I Miss New Wave While We Were Hunting Rabbits Suburbia Last Parade
-
Change of Season eeny miney moein' it - The Workers Sing a Song of Mass Production deserves the title Born to Kill clearly (even though I'm a fan of LISOI) don't really know so I'll pick the probable underdog Omissions of the Omen Strange Days A Boy and His Machine Gun Avalanche Prime Time Deliverance Apparitions

How does that work? You can't see what's on that far ahead with Tivo can you? We have a PVR and you can go 9 days ahead or so.
-
Hopefully someone gets a good recording of this that we can transfer to a DVD. That would be nice.
-
Spiritual Machines is one of their best for sure, it would be cool to see live.
-
No!! The streak is over!! You guys were supposed to keep going with Blue Skies. It's getting far too few. Should be neck and neck or Blue Skies should win.
-
He basically played all the songs from Hospital Music at Massey Hall. That's more than enough for me.

Official Tour Setlist/review Thread 2009/2010

Am I the only one who really doesn't like the lead guy's voice? Yeeugh. Too high for me. Musically I don't think they're bad though. -
99% Of Us Is Failure A Long Way Down (this sucks because I'm not very fond of either of them so I don't know if I'd prefer this over HTB) Advertising on Police Cars The Future Is X-Rated Lullaby For The New World Order The Vancouver National Anthem Giant Blue Skies Over Bad Lands The Rat Who Would Be King Now this had some tough ones. I sense some close votes.

How Many Times Have You Seen Matt Live?
Manchalivin replied to saraislipknot's topic in Matthew Good
Sadly I haven't ever seen him live and I've been a fan since about 2000. But for a couple years or so for some reason I fell out of touch with him and only really listened to other bands but have been full blown back into him for quite a few years now and he's my favourite musician of all time. -
My dream setlist would be perfect but that would be more than awesome enough. I'd pick either Beautiful Midnight and Underdogs or Beautiful Midnight and Avalanche, probably the latter.

Yes, it's really nice to have something different and I hope they keep it for a while. It's sounding solid.
