  1. Listening to "Theatre is Evil" by Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra (favorite tracks are "The Killing Type," "Want it Back" and "Grown Man Cry") and "Swordfishtrombones" by Tom Waits (Underground, 16 Shells from a 30 Ought 6 and Soldier's Things are my favorites from that one)
  2. Me and Finboy spent a LONG time learning and recording some Beautiful Midnight stuff, but only finished a couple songs (minus vocals). Then my computer died so they're trapped on that hard drive until I get it fixed.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f10OPNEnDN0&feature=g-all-u http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad9oz-YsVps And this video is probably NSFW for blood effects, but good fucking lord this song is incredible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyE2MLq24OE
  4. Obviously, he is saving Rico for the "favorites" album that he'll be releasing outside of Canada: Rico (Underdogs) Rico (Live at Snowjob) Rico (studio acoustic) Rico (big band version) Rico (bohemian polka) Rico (string quartet) Rico (radio edit)
  5. Watching The Thing (2011). Not great by any means, I'd say a 6.5. The CG is awful. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is not.
  6. That is awesome.
  7. I wonder if Matt's new international distribution deal or whatever that is would enable him to perform, at least acoustically, overseas.
  8. That stuff I was not aware of. I do vaguely remember a forum post on one of the many times the forums came back after going away saying he was done and all butthurt about something Matt had allegedly done in regards to site content. For me, I mostly just remember it as a pretty good place to get up to date MGB news.
  9. Oh runningforhome, I sometimes feel nostalgic and miss that website.
  10. I Am Jennie by Jennie Ketcham A memoir about her life growing up, her time in the porn business and her recovery from sex addiction and substance abuse after being on Sex Rehab with Dr Drew. Brutally honest, no holds barred, uncensored book. Really enjoying it, you know, as much as you can enjoy a book like this.
  11. Yep, that was the one.
  12. During the WLRRR tour, I remember him stopping near the end of Buffalo Seven in Calgary because people were being dicks and fighting or something, so I'm glad to see him still doing that. Maybe that's why he's opted for playing theaters the last 5 or 6 years.
  13. Yeah, Alan Wake had great atmosphere, which was really unnerving to me. Just finished a solo playthrough of Borderlands- well, except for the General Knoxx DLC which I will start tomorrow. Have also been playing co-op with my roommate and our friend, and I pre-ordered Borderlands 2. Come on September. I totally just realized I'll be at my dad's house back in Calgary and not near my computer so I won't even be able to play Borderlands 2 on release day. Sadpandaface.
  14. I think it's Aldergrove technically. Twilight Drive In.
  15. The Dark Knight Rises. Thought it was good, but nothing too special. I think I'd have to see it again to make a better judgement on it- saw at the drive-in theater in Langley and I was tired as hell so it wasn't exactly the ideal movie watching experience.
  16. Also picked up Dead Space 2 from the Steam sale because it was $5 yesterday and the first is great. Alan Wake is a great game. I don't think I'd ever replay it, but it was really enjoyable and one of few games to legitimately scare me.
  17. Use a banjo capo so you're only capoing some of the strings.
  18. I didn't bother learning the chorus to the Yuck song, but the bass in the verse is a half step lower than Vermilion. Vermilion goes Eb>C>Ab and this song goes D>B>G. Science!
  19. Steam summer sale has allowed me to procure for reasonable prices: Metro 2033 Dead Island LA Noire Dear Esther
  20. You could always post it in the Lounge.
  21. People who throw things are douchebags. I am pretty sure you are clear to post them here. Wouldn't be the first time concerts have been posted :)
  22. According to former user Finboy, this is the set from the show in Calgary: Van national Born losers Window Zero orchestra Jazz interlude Alert status Automatic Shallow low X-rated Time bomb Load me up Non populous Apparitions Giant Weapon Pat was playing drums for this show as well.
  23. If tickets weren't sold out, I'd have given you the password for purchase. One of my friends in Calgary is going, and he gave me the password in case I was able to make it back there. :(
  24. Got Borderlands from Steam. Forgot how much fun this game is.
