  1. From the Facebook page: We were all sitting outside at the end of rehearsal today and from inside could hear our sound engineer playing Mutineering over the PA. Someone opened the door and we could tell there was something slightly different about it, so intrigued we went inside. At first, we thought he was playing the record, and then realized that he’d recorded us on the pro-tools rig he’s bringing out and it was actually us rehearsing the song. I’m looking into the matter this afternoon and evening – and probably over the next few days – but if I can do it, the web platform that I use for my official site allows me to offer music for purchase download by the song. If everything works out, I plan to have mixed – but totally unedited – songs taken from various cities during the tour available on the site for fans to get. Here’s hoping all the legal mumbo doesn’t get in the freaking way of it!
  2. Yeah, when tabbing out MG basslines from Hospital Music onwards, when in doubt, tab it on the A string.
  3. I can't really speak to the guitar, but I play the bass parts a bit differently, the big difference being no two note chords. I am pretty certain that the guitar bits in the verse are just layers of palm muted guitars, including the bass and I play just straight 8th notes through the choruses.

  5. "Done a little bad for should" is what is posted on the official site.
  6. Here's a list of some stuff I have acquired somewhat recently. FTL Original Soundtrack Something by Chairlift Oh Fortune by Dan Mangan Come Now/Leche/Moenie and Kitchi by Gregory and the Hawk Analogue/Hate Plus soundtrack by Isaac Shankler Self-titled EP by Kandle Pure Heroine by Lorde Arrows by MG My Head is an Animal by Of Monsters and Men Mass Effect 3/Extended Cut/Citadel Soundtracks Hotline Miami soundtrack
  7. Matt mentioned during the indie88 album listening party with Alan Cross that he writes his bass pretty much exclusively on the A-string, and you can really hear it in the albums past WLRRR. I know Matt loves the Pixies, and that was a big part of Kim Deal's bass playing as well.
  8. I seem to recall Matt wanting to get Bob Rock to produce Underdogs, but he was busy with another band so he got Livesey instead. I could totally be wrong though.
  9. After a few listens, my list now looks like this: Garden of Knives Mutineering Hey Hell Heaven Arrows of Desire Guns of Carolina Letters in Wartime Via Dolorosa +1 We're Long Gone -1 Had It Coming So Close
  10. I don't know how many people here are musicians and are going to be learning the songs, but would there be any interest in a tab thread for the album? I have the bass for Arrows and Had It Coming all figured out.
  11. Letters in Wartime kind of reminds me musically of "Minerva" by the Deftones.
  12. Fuck it, I was planning on having the first listen tomorrow with my bass amp, but I'm listening to it now. If I'm ranking this by favorites after one listen: Garden of Knives (this song is incredible) Mutineering Hey Hell Heaven (Garden>Mutineering>Heaven is one of the best three song stretches in an album that I've heard in a long time) Arrows of Desire Guns of Carolina Letters in Wartime We're Long Gone Via Dolorosa Had It Coming So Close
  13. It is now available on itunes! EDIT: itunes servers are really bogged down today according to my friend who works for apple/the fact that I am currently at 28(!!!!!) minutes remaining for the download.
  14. Man, I miss going to see shows at the Jack Singer :(
  15. I think the Rush is a Shaw TV show. The only reason I can think of why you'd see Lance and Matt playing the song twice is that the livestream was just covering Matt, while people watching the show on TV would be presented with other segments while Matt was getting ready.
  16. Tips, for guitar/bass amplification, there are two pieces of equipment that go into it - the head (or amplifier) where your volume and tone shaping controls are, and the speaker. You can get combo amps that combine these two elements into one package. Here is a picture of a Fender Tonemaster head/speaker set up (Matt sold one of these to user Finboy!) And here's an image of a combination bass amp:
  17. Bummed out that it abruptly cuts off, but really great interview.
  18. Stu is not back. Jimmy Reid, who played during the LoES tour is back. He played on the album too.
  19. There's some new shirts up in the store as well, including this lovely specimen (sizes are limited right now it seems):
  20. I've heard Had It Coming/We're Long Gone, but I've been really good at not playing them on the website player and I didn't purchase the single from iTunes or anything. I heard Guns of Carolina on CFOX when he played it, but I don't remember the song at all. It'll be nice to listen to the album without having heard most of it beforehand.
  21. The worst is going to be from the 15th on, because that's when I'm off work for 2 weeks and will have lots of time to be tempted. I will combat this by figuring out how to play the bass to Change of Season.
  22. Come on willpower!
  23. Matt said on Facebook that the colors will differ between the store vinyl and the VIP ticket vinyl.
  24. Seeing as iTunes preorder is up, here are the track lengths: Arrows of Desire 4:06 Via Dolorosa 4:02 Had It Coming 2:40 We're Long Gone 2:09 So Close 3:42 Garden of Knives 5:29 Mutineering 5:05 Hey Hell Heaven 3:51 Guns of Carolina 4:42 Letters in Wartime 6:45
  25. CD ordered! Will probably buy on iTunes as well so I don't have to wait until I get the CD to listen to it. And I don't need to order a vinyl copy because I'm getting one as part of the VIP ticket package. Hurray! In addition, the album is available to pre-order on iTunes, with the title track available for download immediately.
