  1. I've heard Hello Time Bomb on highlights packages on Sportsnet before and I think Garden of Knives would make a great intro song for a more upbeat opening montage.
  2. Saw the new Captain America last weekend and it is (IMO) the best of the Marvel universe movies so far. Really strong throughout the whole movie. Also saw The Raid 2: Barendal last night. I thought the plot could have been tightened up a little bit, but my oh my were those fight sequences phenomenal.
  3. I did something similar for one of my friends, prior to Arrows being released, but I called it "Matthew Good - Now With More Atmosphere" Life Beyond the Minimum Safe Distance The Boy Who Could Explode Avalanche Bright End of Nowhere Odette Weapon A Single Explosion Suburbia A Silent Army in the Trees On Nights Like Tonight 99% Of Us is Failure Set Me On Fire House of Smoke and Mirrors Blue Skies Over Bad Lands Non Populus Apparitions True Love WIll Find You in the End I will give yours a go in the next few days while I'm at work :)
  4. Once I can find a camera I will. I moved a while ago and am not sure where my fiancee's camera has run off to.
  5. I have a very badly faded shirt that is similar - it's a man trying to stand up with an oversize rifle on his back. The decal part of it is pretty worn down, but I'll take a picture of it tomorrow. I am pretty sure I also have one of the patches with the tank on it. I will have to do digging around, and if I find it, will also take a picture of that.
  6. That was the first time I had heard Champions with a full band. Didn't play it in Calgary during the Hospital Music full band tour (Virgin Festival), and didn't play it at either Calgary show during the Vancouver tour and didn't play it at the 1st Vancouver show during the LoES tour, so it was a very very very nice treat for me and easily the highlight of the show. That second chorus just slays.
  7. I don't care whose musical ideas they were, Spiritual Machines is criminally underrated.
  8. Ryan Dahle's solo album is all kinds of fantastic. Matt's turned me towards a lot of artists that I like, whether they opened for him or he's talked about them: Dala Melissa McClelland Gentlemen Husbands Mother Mother Explosions in the Sky Josh Ritter Afghan Whigs Talk Talk Husker Du Pete Yorn Wilco
  9. I have. I can take some pictures today if you really want.
  10. No lyrics. There's a pull out that has all the personnel information on it, and like the CD version, it directs you to Matt's website for the lyrics.
  11. Last nights show was awesome. I am pretty sure that this was the longest full band I've ever seen him play. Non Populus and Champions were the definite standouts for me.
  12. It definitely is not Love Will Tear Us Apart. I can't place it, but it could just be something the guys came up with just for funsies.
  13. Just seeing the 8 minute run time on Giant makes me one happy camper. Aaaaaaaaaaaand kind of bummed out that it's not an extended jam circa Avalanche but just a lot of feedback at the end. Still great though!
  14. In terms of recording, I am pretty sure it's just soundboard to laptop, then Anthony adjusts some stuff in ProTools and they throw it up.
  15. I quite enjoy Milos' take on the bassline in Automatic. Still recognizable but with his own flare to it.
  16. Man, the second chorus in live performances of Champions still gets me. So awesome.
  17. I don't hate Us Remains Impossible. I would say I am pretty indifferent to it. It's an okay song, doesn't really stand out or move me in any way. The Devil's In Your Details, however, usually moves me to the skip button, because I do not like that song one bit.
  18. Thank you kindly!
  19. Seeing as we're talking about History Teacher stuff... anyone have Second Sun? It is the only song I am missing.
  20. Born to Kill would be great. Loved hearing that one back in the day. I think it'd be awesome if you recorded the acoustic shows and released them. I remember tons of shows being bootlegged during the Nothing to Hide tour and it was great listening to the banter and stories (and songs, obviously).
  21. I also like the idea of piano/bass driven songs a la 15 Hours, but I'd still love to see him do the "write and record a bunch of songs in different cities and studios" idea that he's thrown around in the past. I also remember him saying a long time ago that he wanted to write an album that was 8 songs, 60 minutes. Still hoping on that.
  22. Jump to 2:42 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25MGpwSsisI I could have sworn this was called "Sharks of Downtown".
  23. I tried doing a few searches for this via the googles and came across MGB food-kink fanfic. I shit you not and.... well NSFW probably http://http://archiveofourown.org/works/553781?view_adult=true
  24. Just listened to Mutineering. 1)The Dewey Cox intro was pretty great. 2)"Tommy they don't got you yet!" Chills.
  25. After the first show in Vancouver during the LoES tour I walked right by Livesey, with my LoES vinyl and wished afterwards that I had asked him to sign it as well.
