  1. No, quite the opposite. I believe that in any work place, as cliched as it sounds, everyone's part of a team. As an administrator, I know I'm a team member that needs to make sure the needs of my other team members are being met. My job is to be helpful. I actually hate that there are two "administrative assistants" at my work, who are snobs about whatever the fuck it is they do. Whenever I need them to help me with something, it's "oh, I'm too busy" or "That's not part of my job". It kills me, because technically, I'm of a higher position than they are, but I don't rub their nose in it. I make more money than they do, yet they still feel entitled to treat me like I'm *their* helper, simply because I often drop what I'm doing to help them with something. >.<
  2. My mistake, my apologies. That being said, I guess I'm just a big "fan" of Evan. I, unfortunately, am not sure how to participate in this thread. I've always worked so-called "entry-level" positions. I'm pretty much a career receptionist/Office Administrator. I've had Kevin tell me on several occasions (when I'm bitching about his job) that my job is nothing I could call a career, but I absolutely love my job. In my experience, when employers are looking for administrative help, especially someone who's going to be reception, they're often looking at someone who can maintain composure while multitasking in a busy office environment, with a lot of customer service skills and common sense. Seems like an extremely easy thing, but I get pretty bitter at the other "higher up" people who don't seem to understand that without us "lower level" people, nothing ever get done. I may not be an expert on anything, but I can tell you that I have often been lauded for my exceptional customer service skills and perfect disposition for reception. Having worked at a Legal Aid Criminal Defence law firm, you learn a lot of humility, working with all walks of life. So, I guess what I'm getting at, is, if you're just starting out, the best thing to do is to build a good foundation of customer service skills. Even if you don't think the industry you're going to eventually make your career in, will require customer service, it's still very good experience to have. I've met a lot of students at our school (I work at a private career college) who just SUCK at customer service. Which is hilarious because we have a mandatory basic course (regardless what program you're taking) called "Customer Service Essentials", that they all need to take. And then these students wonder why they're having such a hard time finding practicums and jobs >.< In some way, I think every career, will, at some point, require some level of customer service.
  3. The linear thing doesn't bother me so much. FF7 and FF9 are both pretty linear. I think when they started moving towards the MMO-style, is when I started getting turned off. I miss walking around on the world map, and hearing that jarring "whoosh" that took you into battle haha None of this "I can, see and choose my enemies". I thought the characters from FF13 looked far more dynamic than the bland, nearly Aryan look the FF12 characters had. GOOD LORD, the voice acting is goddamn awful. But I haven't actually even seen FF13 in action, so I can't really judge it at all. You know what was pretty fun, too? Dirge of Cerberus. I've totally hijacked this thread and turned it into a Square Enix thread XD
  4. I don't think he's ever really said he's *more successful* than the rest of us. Perhaps he's got an air about him, but anything he's ever said has generally had good intentions. I've never smelled bullshit on him.
  5. I don't think that reply was limp. I understand that Evan's a generally private person, and he wanted to answer my question within of the perimeters of keeping his personal life private. Thanks for sharing, Evan. I don't want to say "You're so lucky to be so successful", because in the end, your wealth and success wasn't about luck. But I really admire how much drive, ambition and intelligence you have. You're inspiring, but at the same time, I know that I won't ever be as successful or wealthy as you (through my own means anyway), because I think I lack the drive.
  6. Nono, you miss read. I love Chrono Trigger ;) Shadow of Colossus is a very fun game. What about it didn't you like? I'm a big puzzle fan, and all the game is, is puzzle after puzzle. Plus, the story was really interesting. I felt bad defeating some of the monsters, though, because at the end of the day, they're kind of just giant beasts, minding their own business, and then all of a sudden, you come along to slay them. Kind of harsh lol And yes, I'm the same, FF9 is probably the last FF game I ever finished. I tried to play FF10, but I absolutely hated the Sphere grid and Blitz ball, 11 was online and seriously, 12 is a piece of shit. 12's story line, voice acting and game play is extremely bland and boring. I'm really interested in trying 13, but I don't have a PS3  Choked to hear 14 is going to be online again. I haven't been an MMO person for a really long time, I've lucky escaped the grip of WoW, and I hate the idea of having to pay monthly for a game. Anyone try Crisis Core and Dissidia? I bought them for Kevin, but haven't tried them myself. I can't believe I left out Kingdom Hearts. Kingdom Hearts is one of my favourite games as well. Anyone still go to arcades? My fav arcade games: 1. Drummania 2. Guitar Freaks 3. Maximum Tune-Up 4. Bishi-Bashi 5. Dance Dance Revolution
  7. Chrono Cross is totally different from Chrono Trigger. Never played Chrono Cross but lahve Chrono Trigger. Drove me nuts, though. I know a lot of people weren't fond of FF9, but I really liked it. My picks: 1. Final Fantasy 7 2. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time 3. Shadow of Colossus 4. Katamari Damacy 5. Little Big Planet
  8. You know, I'm not sure if anyone else is interested, or if Evan is even willing to share, but I'm extremely interested in hearing how he gained all his wealth at such a young age. You make it sound so easy. You seem to have led such an amazing life thus far, and you're so intriguing... I know that sounds like a come on, but it's not, I assure you lol
  9. "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few or the one."
  10. Y'all're sick =_=
  11. What? There's more than one cute, tiny azn named "Tracy" on facebook? Egads!
  12. I will blame you for not adding me lol It's not my fault! XD
  13. All the people I care about on the bored, I have on facebook anyway (except Evan), so, yes, there's not a lot of pull to come back :/
  14. For the love of God, someone PLEASE buy me Absolute Justice and Absolute Sandman.
  15. I just finished reading "All Star Superman" and having no previous background with Superman at all, I have to say that it was an amazing way to be introduced to the Man of Steel.
  16. We did it! Well, sort of. My team mate and I completed all the challenges we were supposed to, but we were *just* shy of the finish line. Deadline was 4pm and we finished our 10th challenge at 4pm, so we didn't have enough time to get to the finish line. I now have sunstroke and it's taking a leviathan amount of concentration to write this post. We raised $610! I didn't have time to do any picture taking. We were super busy running/bussing from checkpoint to checkpoint. There is but one picture of us: http://twitpic.com/1u8ccq I don't know if I told you guys what our team name was, but it was "We'd Do The Weird Stuff". Anyone who gets the reference, gets an internet cookie. So, the challenges were: 1. Go to Granville Island and use a GPS to find a landmark. Then find a landmark without the GPS. 2. Go to Nat Bailey Stadium, get some baseball gear on, and hit one slow pitch. 3 strikes and you have to play that childhood game where you spin yourself around a baseball bat and run. The gear was so huge. and red. I felt like Iron Man. 3. Go to King Edward skytrain station. Find a stranger to play Rock Paper Scissors. If you lose, your opponent chooses what gross thing you had to eat. If you win, you get to choose. I had to eat a shot of mustard. Relatively easy, but I had epic heartburn after... 4. Go to a park just off of Commercial Drive. A Boot Camp obstacle course that required me to crawl through grass with an inflatable dummy. And then I had to peel a potato. 5. Go to Scoop! on w.4th to correctly measure 128g of candy. Eat said candy. 6. Film a 15-30 second PSA about Asthma at the BC Lung Association's headquarters. My speech was as follows: "Hello! My name is Tracy. I am a smoker. I am what you call an "inciter". This means I induce coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath in any asthmatics around me. To learn how to avoid me and my disgusting buddies, please visit www.bc.lung.ca" All whilst wearing oversized sunglasses, and tiara and a wand. :S 7. Go to the Vancouver Film Centre, and sound out the movie lines and guess which movie it's from. (ex. "eye see ded pee peel" = "I see dead people" = 6th Sense). This one was surprisingly hard. 8. Go to the Umbrella Shop on Broadway, one team member gets a bike and finds letters. Bring the letters back to the other team member who unscrambles the words. Our letters were "EOSASN". Took us way too long to figure it out. Can you? XD 9. Tangrams across the street from VGH. Figure out the code on the lock, open the box to get the hint and build the image using the shapes given We only had to do 9, because we found the charity point seal, which was given out to any teams who made more than $500. Everyone else had to do 10 challenges. There were 20 checkpoints to choose from, 4 of which were mandatory. We took 20 minutes to map out our strategy and it worked out pretty well. I think, had we actually run to every place, we would have made it to the finish line, but my team mate and I have no stamina for such things ;) I want to, once again, thank everyone here, who took the time to donate. I really appreciate it, and I had a really great time doing this
  17. Seriously. That balloon animal talent is hot XD
  18. haha omg, so that's YOU! I checked my page this morning and was like "I don't know anyone named <name not included for privacy reasons>" and I was thinking one of my friends used a fake name or something XD Thank you so much! I really appreciate this, and it's a wonderful way to honour your loved ones ;)
  19. :/ Sorry, I think that's the only way they can process online ones. I can take cash/cheques offline and hand them in on the day...but obviously that won't help in this case  Thank you very much for the thought, though ;) I really appreciate it.
  20. I got it! Thank you SO much, Matthew! Such a generous donation! ;) I'll be sure to take lots of pictures on the day! Right now, we're pouring over the Rush blog, because there are clues to the check points. I've never done anything like this before, so I'm pretty excited!
  21. That's a really good question I don't have an answer to :/ I'm going to say June 1st.
  22. On June 5th, a friend and I will be participating in RUSH Vancouver, which is an Amazing Race-like competition around Vancouver to support the BC Lung Association. Instead of an entrance fee, each team has to raise $200 in donations. I would really appreciate if you could sponsor me! If you can't, don't worry about it! The Lung Association offers support, education & research for a variety of causes, from asthma to lung cancer to sleep apnea. How to Sponsor Me! Step 1 - Click the link http://rushvancouver.kintera.org/faf/searc...9406299E174EECE Step 2 - Look up Tracy Po. My team name is "We'd Do The Weird Stuff" (it's a Dr. Horrible reference). Step 3 - Donate! Step 4 - Congratulations, you just made the world a better place ;) Thanks so much guys!
  23. Ahh. I see. Good times. I approve. Has she had relationships with legit tops? sorry to be all 20-questions, but I'm trying to assess the quality of her how-to advice, no personal affront to her. (Side-note, you should send me the full article haha) Sweetheart, sometimes that's the best part. Fun for girls and boys.
  24. Define "legit bottom"?
