It's unfortunate, but I haven't gone anywhere near the Buffy Season 8 or Angel: After The Fall. I'm stubborn in the notion that is just won't be the same without getting to hear the characters deliver the lines, act out the scenes... Plus, the artwork is just...meh. And judging from the storylines that have been going on...no thanks.

What Videogame(s) Are You Playing Right Now?

I, too, was a big fan of Sands of Time. I wasn't really fond of Warrior Within... -
Good points, definitely, Michael. I'm really hoping Fox doesn't drop the ball with this. I, too, felt it went pretty slow. Honestly, other than the actual *concept*, the show didn't feel like Joss at all. I do appreciate the fact that when Joss likes an actor/actress, he does everything he can to use them again in his other shows. If anything, I'm hoping this show continues long enough that we get little guest spots for other Whedonverse actors. (Nathan Fillion anyone? Or dare I suggest Alexis Denisof?) I think my heart broke a little bit when I saw the Mutant Enemy logo and the ever familiar "Grrr Arrrgh". I...I just really miss Buffy/Angel.

We made an effort to watch it. My initial reaction was boredom, and it lingered through the rest of the episode. I'll stick it out for another couple of episodes. I remembered how Buffy and Firefly started out a little slow as well. I was disappointed that this first episode of completely devoid of the witty dialogue that Joss is so well-known for. It was generally humourless as well, and what I miss most is Whedon's ability to take a serious moment and inject a bit of humour into it, without being disrespectful to the scene. It's setting itself up for a lot of stories, which is good, and you touched on some of it well. I find Eliza Dushku to be...not a great actor sometimes. It's unfortunate that all I can see is Faith, when I see her. I was more interested in seeing what was up with the very dour character Amy Acker had. Quite a difference from the Winifred Burkle I'm so used to and love. Kevin is sitting behind me and disagreeing with me at Eliza Dushku's lack of versatility as an actress. But more likely than not, he probably just thinks she's hot too ;)

I'm glad there are people here who will back me up on the wii. I'm not nearly articulate to go up against someone myself haha I'm personally a multiconsole owner, so I'd never consider purchasing Rock Band for wii, as I already enjoy it on PS3, I couldn't say how shit it is on wii. But as for shitty games on Wii, there are shitty games for all platforms, it's not indigenous to Wii. And who cares if the "tricks" are "old hat". I think the wii is a lot better than the power glove, and the balance board is far fucking better than the power pad. Nintendo took an idea that didn't quite take off when they first put it out and revamped it. That kind of shit is done all the time. As for the controls not being precise, I've personally never had a problem with them. -

Some people take their video games way too seriously. I think the wii makes video gaming very accessible. Makes a great party game, and you're not stuck spending 10 minutes explaining complicated button controls . I wouldn't classify it as a children's toy. Just maybe not a console for a "hard core" gamer. I guess it's like the mac of video game consoles. -

I got Sam & Max for Wii, for my birthday. It looks great, but I have yet to try it. Also got Wario Shake-It-Up for Wii -
What Are Some Bands...
Muran replied to sodamntired's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
As an electronic music fan, remixes are my bread 'n butter, and I love 'em. I've got some really amazing remixes, including a few rock songs that you wouldn't expect. And often pop music, such as Britney Spears becomes far more dynamic and palatable when remixed. -
Watched "Notorious" a couple days ago. Pretty good. I had "Hypnotize" stuck in my head afterwards.

A clean shaven, not fat Jack Black, yeah.
-
Boo...I don't think you look like Karl Urban too much...Same stubble and hair I guess... I hope you don't take offense, but I think you actually kinda look like a less ugly Jack Black.
-
If you've been told you look like Karl Urban, I may have to take you forcibly. Seriously, I've lusted after Karl Urban since high school, when he was Hercules & Xena haha. If I can't have him, I can always do with a look-a-like.

Upon closer inspection, I think Taylor Kitsch is looking like a terrible Gambit.

haha that's right up there with Billy Dee Williams' pimpin' Colt 45. The other night, we were discussing Kahn's death and I said his tombstone should say: "From hell's heart, I stab at thee." We all started laughing, and stopped when we actually realised how terrible that is.

I wasn't aware you were into Incest porn, Tim. You deserve a tall cool glass of:

Your hilarity is making it really hard to be sad about this. On a sad note, this just reminded me of my friend's impression of Kirk. She enjoys going "Khaaaaaan!", but with a ditzy accent. Sometimes she adds an "Oh mah gaaawd, you killed muh son" to that. It's....funnier in person, I assure you.

George Stephanopoulos Vs George Stroumboulopoulos
Muran replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Open Discussion
Man, George Strombo used to be cool, but his show "The Hour" is really kind of annoying. He constantly comes off like he's trying way too hard to be funny/entertaining. -
That is an awesome guy to look like though, Anton. Please don't have sex with your daughter.

I sorta miss the days of going to a LAN gaming place with the boys, ordering up some BBTs and instant noodles, and spending the day playing Battlefield 1942. This may be a dumb question, but are LAN gaming places popular/exist elsewhere? I always had the notion they were an asian thing. -
I TOTALLY agree with you.

XD you cut and pasted! But I understand what you mean. I met my ex in an anime/tabletop RPG club at school called "Forever In Fantasy", and Kevin and I bonded on the Bored, over our mutual love of anime, electronic music and video games. I agree with you though. Now, more than ever, it's not just socially acceptable for girls to be geeks, but it's downright sexy. Which is great, because it's awesome that such a "niche market" is now so "mainstream". I'm pretty proud to be a geek! I've also noticed (at least in Vancouver), that a lot of the geek guys have crazy yellow fever (I guess due to the popularity of anime/Japanese video games?), so I've enjoyed a certain kind of popularity with the guys. -
No, it's just that the faces you were making during that drum solo video, looks just the way Jim does when he goes all out on his upright bass. Take a look at any live video of Brian Wilson, and you'll see what I mean, Owen XD You don't look like James Franco at all. I guess maybe your abs do, but not your face haha

You two have the same lips ;) Laura Prepon has meaner looking eyebrows tho haha
