  1. I enjoy watching UFC, I'm a big fan of mixed martial arts. I hate that reality tv show they have tho. To others who don't really enjoy it, it seems like either: 1. Kinda gay wrestling 2. Senseless violence But I guess it takes special people to really appreciate the amount of work that goes into training for these things...
  2. I thik the ultimate geek moment was that damned awesome ringtone.
  3. Are you talking about Advent Children? It's ridiculously awesome. The story is fabulous, it's a good update on what the characters were up to after the game. The animation is awesomely breathtaking, and every moment has some sort of nostalgia value for those who know and love the game. I, a long with a lot of other people I know, have seen the movie, and there have been no qualms with it. Honestly, it's a complete fanservice to all FFVII fans. If you loved the game, you must see it I looked at the 2-disc DVD release that just came out, and it's a shame, but they didn't seem to have included a 30 minute OAV, done in traditional 2D anime-style, which is a prequel to both the movie and the game. But, I believe it's available through boxtorrent, or any realy bitorrent site. On a related note, I do believe Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, the new FFVII game featuring exclusively, Vincent Valentine, should be coming out soon. That should be interesting...although I'm suspecting a bomb...
  4. Yeah, definately, I watch it for character interaction. Even though the show is generally pretty formulaic, it's the characters that just keep you interested. And yes, Hugh Laurie is pretty damn hot.
  5. I guess we'll see tonight ;) I personally find Cameron really freakin' annoying...
  6. I *barely* remember this, I'm not sure if it really happened, I have a notoriously bad memory, but I swear my elementary school took us to a Grizzlies game once, and before the game, Matthew Good Band played a set. I wonder if anyone could confirm that he's done something like this?
  7. I choose "Load Me Up" for a purely shallow, indulgent reason. I remember the announcement at my high school (Little Flower Academy) that they needed extras for this video. And in fact, a few LFA grads are easily seen in the finished project ;) Other than that, "Anti-Pop" is quite cute. It's good to see a bit of Matt's sense of humour, since much of his work is always so "heavy".
  8. You know what someone should make? an alcoholic bubble tea...that would be interesting...
  9. Hopeless. Does anyone else feel like doing some sort of bob 'n dance when they hear this song?
  10. According to a buddy who's actually studying to be in diagnostic medicine, all the diseases they come up with are real. And sometimes the cases are just simple allergies and stuff, hidden by other things haha I think they should have no trouble "mixing it up" in that respect...so no lack of cases there. Said medical student buddy says he personally loves watching it, and tries to solve it before House does lol
  11. Yeah, you're pretty much right, it *is* rather formulaic. However, that's not to say it's boring. Because the cases reveal themselves in a really interesting way. Not only that, but everyone looks forward to House's quips ;) and generally O.o behavior. It's an awesome show, I'm glad it reallt took off. Hugh Laurie's an awesome actor.
  12. Any House fans? I'm absolutely adoring that show... The giant geek I am, I do miss Buffy and Angel...and Firefly...
  13. I'd love to hear his rendition of "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds Five...that'd be interesting... or maybe David Usher's "St. Lawrence River"
  14. "Don't fail me now, don't you even fuckin' think it" "Damn, I'll bring them to their knees" - Truffle Pigs That whole song in general, the amount of intense sincerity in his voice, just...it's so heartfelt. Blows my mind. "When you blow out like a dead star, It reminds me how uniform your beautiful is We carry on like it's easy Like you're all out and I'm your man Baby, I'm your man" - Giant There is just something so anti-cheesy, yet deeply romantic about those lines. for some reason, everytime I hear him sing it, I get this extremely cheesy image of him just, shouting it off a cliff, for everyone to hear.
  15. I just wanted to say thanks a bunch for posting that thing. I absolutely adore it. Perhaps it's just me, but for some reason, I've found it easier to find new music on Pandora, that suits my tastes, if it's generally lyricless or instrumental (eg. Trance, New Age, Ambient). Mind you, just give it, oh, an hour of listening, keep adding music to it, do the like and dislike thing, and I find it to be pretty efficient and worthwhile. Time-waster indeed! ;)
