I was kinda disappointed with their DVD, Barelaked Nadies. I've been trying to get a hold of "Barenaked In America" for ages, and I don't want to succumb to eBay. And Barenaked Truth, well, that's just a DVD of something I taped off CBC. And the book, while extremely informative and interesting (the photo section's cute), had a lot of typos and shit, I found that extremely irritating. And the author, Paul Meyers...I see him on TV a lot, and he annoys the shit out of me ;) -

I <3 OverClocked. -
The calligraphy on that is really lovely! Nice, man! As for my lyric... It'd be hilarious if I got "Made by the Taiwanese in Taiwan", stamped on my lower back or something. My family speaks Fukien, which is a Taiwanese dailect XD

np. So far, from what I've heard, ah the challenges are even more ridiculous, since Showcase is a little more lenient, censor-wise.

Before "Gordon" was put out, it was just Ed, Steve, Jim, Andy; Andy was doing percussions as well as keyboards. He went away awhile, and when he returned, he found Tyler had taken over playing percussions. So he stuck to keyboards and I think it was congos and other non-Tyler percussion arrangements. It was around that time that their first demo tapes (Barenaked Lunch and Yellow Tape) were released. Obviously soon after, "Gordon" was released and that's why Ty's there. And yeah, Kevin replaced Andy, that's why on the Rock Spectacle CD, Kevin is known as "The New Guy" lol And yes, it's awesome that he totally kicked Leukemia's ass. Yeah...I'm a huge BNL fan >.> -
I have a tendency to pull the stereotypical "cute Japanese girl" routine, complete with high pitched voice, too many peace signs and Japanglish even though I'm neither Japanese, nor cute XD This is probably a product of years of anime and an intense need to be adorably loveable haha And I'm so freakin' emo it's crazzzzyyyy *cut wrists* (Edit: That last line was typed out by a friend reading over my shoulder ;))

"You killed my hostage!!" My god, finally, someone who's heard of "The Maxx". One of my favourite old cartoons. I <3 my Maxx action figure. Pity Same Kieth didn't continue the comic book.

Another BNL Live thing I love, was the little Red vs. Blue clips they had personally made for their concerts. Those were cute. Gotta love Ed for being such a geek XD So far, really enjoying the song "Adrift". I was really hoping they would put out more songs like "For You" off of E2E, and "Adrift" seems the closest to me. Lovin' the banjo. But yeah...after a few more listens, while I am enjoying it...Seems a bit weak. I'm surprised at how overall chill the CD is. For those who actually enjoyed the other band members contributions to the album, such as Kevin's "Vanishing" or Jim's "Peterborough and the Kawarthas", I highly suggest you give a listen to their side bands, Kevin Hearn and Thin Buckle, and The Creeggan Brothers (Jim's brother, Andy, played for BNL for "Gordon" and "Maybe You Should Drive", before Tyler took over). Personally I love the Creeggs. -
Just Firefly and Kenny Vs Spenny Season 1 (Man, can't wait for season 2 dvd! Season 3 starts Oct 19 on Showcase! ;)) I'd buy more anime but it can get expensive >.> And no real incentive since Fansubs are a lot better and...well...free.

Thanks lovingly to Kevin, I am ALL over Mono, they're an awesome band. Not any specific songs, but my favourite instrumental artists would probably be Wim Mertens and Kevin Kearn. They both have some awesomely chill piano pieces. Laugh if you will, but Enya's also pretty damn chill. And Aphex Twin is awesome There's also a new age duo called 2002, and that's got some amazingly soothing stuff. Video game music is always great for a good hit of instrumental goodness ;) -
haha Luke Wilson! That's hawt ;)

I ran out to buy it as soon as the mall opened XD Deluxe edition too lol I took a listen through it last night, and personally, I can see what a difference makes, in the collaboration they had between the whole band, as opposed to just Steve and Ed writing. Don't really enjoy Kevin's songs, but Jim's songs are always great, sound a lot like his side project. I got the feeling it sounded sort of like a children's album though, you know what I mean? Lyrically, the songs "read" like a storybook, I think it was the rhyme scheme. The choice to edge towards folksy sounds, as opposed to rockin' "Stunt"-era sounds, sorta added to the Fred Penner vibe. Personally I liked it, but then, I'm such a hardcore BNL fan that I'm liable to like anything they put out. I do have to say that it's probably going to take a few more listens, to really get into though. And yes, BNL are amazing live. I sure do miss the Barenaked Rap at the end of "If I Had A Million Dollars" though. Somehow the new dance routine they added to "Shopping" just doesn't make up for it. I heard they're bringing back Million dollars though, so hopefully the Rap returns as well. -
You do NOT look like Alexis Denisof! You do look like Adrien Brody tho ;) I look like an asian girl. Go fig.

Oddly enough, I just watched The Transporter again. Wanted to get the bad taste of Crank out of my mouth. But damn if Jason Statham isn't incredibly mattressable.

I was half-sleeping in the car on the way to school, when my mum called my dad on his cell and told him to turn on the news, because something horrible was happening to the WTC, where my great-aunt works. We were all freaking out for the longest time, until we got a call from her, saying she was safe. I remember going to History 12, and discussing what was happening, as it was happening.

Every 2nd Saturday of the month is Sin City night at Club 23 West...I go to that... Other than that...get together with my friends, smoke Shisha (Or Hookah or whatever you'd like to call it), watch movies, just general chillin'.
-
I personally like it a lot too. He has a kind of romanticism that doesn't seem cheesy. It has a nice honest sound to it. Thanks for the live version!
-
I always took that line exactly how you described it...seems to fit, since it's followed with "we carry on like it's easy, like you're all out, and baby I'm your man" That's pretty romantic sounding to me.
-
I think "Giant" is pretty romantic...
-
haha! That was my reason too!

Do you seriously think this? Video gaming is such a massive industry it's disgusting.......ly sweet!!! And this is directed toward whoever was considering getting a Wii, or Wi or whatever the hell that gay thing is called. Get a PS3 or maybe even an Xbox360, buy a god damn Buick before you get that new nintendo peice of trash. I'm not a huge fan of the Xbox360 So, what makes you say the Wii's a piece of trash? I'm really kind of interested in what issues you have with it? The controller looks a little lame, but I mean, it *seems* innovative enough. I might just save my money and buy Guitarfreaks and Drummania, with the new suped up controllers. and Guitar Heroes. Maybe save for a hardtop DDR pad... If I can't play real instruments, I'm going to sure as hell pretend I can with these games XD
