Thank you SO much for your generosity, Jon! Assign the donation? What do you mean? The tax receipt?

This is a long shot, but still gonna give it one: Thank you all who supported me. I'm wondering if anyone would like to sponsor me in another urban scavenger hunt. This time it's City Chase and the charity is "Right To Play". Anyone who's interested in supporting me, is welcome to follow this link: http://righttoplay.akaraisin.com/p/79fb28d...32af574629.aspx I'm really excited about this one! Apparently the challenges are way more daring and exciting. There have been things like guerrila nude modeling, rock climbing and really gross eating challenges. Our team name is "Calm Yourself, Iago." If you get that reference, I love you.

It's true! I was really wondering how much someone who hasn't read the comics, or isn't a gamer, would enjoy this movie, since it feels like a giant fan service in-joke. I was arguing this with friends of mine, that I don't understand why they chose Michael Cera as Pilgrim, since he DOES only play variations of the same kind of character, and I felt that Pilgrim is not that kind of character (in the comics). I expected something more like Andy Sanberg...or Zac Efron lol

I just watched The Expendables, and Randy Couture's in it. Does that count? Seriously though, I used to watch UFC all the time, about 5-6 years ago, would get together with the boys and get the PPVs, but I dunno, I'm kind of over it. It almost seems like the fights aren't as good now. I miss the crazy matches that are over in one blow. UFC is where I learned words like "pankration". lol

I found Ramona to be way less adorable than in the comics.
-
Young Neil was SPOT ON. So was Wallace. I was not impressed with Knives or Envy. This also may just be me, but when I read the comics, they weren't as bitter/sarcastic/angry as they were in the movie.
-
So, who's seen it yet? As much as I hate Michael Cera, I don't think I've said "Aww, AWESOME!" so many times in a movie theatre. I felt simultaneously old and young, watching it.

I still listen to Matt Good, and he'll always be one of my favs, but obviously I listen to other music more now.

Owen, I love you but my eyes started glazing after 3 paragraphs ;) Sorry. Good try, tho?

What are the "knock off" brands? what flavour's pink? haha that's cute, "popsicle afficionado". The other day, I bought a firecracker from the ice cream man, thinking it was the popsicle brand ones, and it wasn't, and it was all extra sour and the texture was nasty.

Whaaaat? C'mon. Sodalicious root beer candies were THE BEST. My favourite popsicle flavour is blue rasberry. I love firecrackers.

What Graphic Novels Are You Reading?

You know what's funny? I recently started reading "Lucifer" and I had no idea it's a spin off from Sandman lol And vol 6 of Scott Pilgrim ends differently than the movie, so there aren't any spoilers or anything... -

It's funny you should say that, because I feel similarly. I believe in God, I believe in heaven (in a way), but at the same time, I always feel vaguely confused when people talk about how scared of death they are. I'm scared of DYING, because I imagine there will be some sort of discomfort/pain attached to it, but I'm not necessarily frightened of DEATH. Because you're right, you'll be dead, you won't know it. I'm not in denial over death, I don't feel like I use God/Heaven to ease my fear. I'm not sure why I believe in Him, I know I just do. Perhaps it's a loneliness thing. When all else fails, I guess it's rudimentary comfort to know that at least He'll be there for you.
-
S'funny you should mention that, because at the Catholic wedding I was at, they barely mentioned Jesus at all, the priest went on and on about how it's important to love each other, and it's important to respect the sanctity of marriage. What was it is he said...something like "It's more important to be married, not to be right.". I don't think Catholic ceremonies are all about God, it's more about the couple. Can't vouch for other Christian ceremonies, though.

Yes. Fuck. YES. I hate Michael Cera with a bloody passion, but nothing is going to stop me from seeing this movie on opening day. I will totally cosplay as Knives lol
-
At the risk of sounding like a child, I like to believe that God (and Jesus) are great people to hang out with, talk to when you need someone to talk to, but at the end of the day, they'll be your Jiminy Cricket, but the choices are yours to make. I don't think God's going to get uptight if you don't go to church regularly, or swear. Treat others and you want to be treated yourself, and you're gold.

Top 5 All Time Favorite Video Games?
Muran replied to FantasticDamage's topic in Tech Section: A Hard Drive at Risk
Yup, that's the one. I'm pretty excited about it ;) -
I agree with everything Ryan said. I bet they see her, and see "lifer", you know? Have you made any mention to your superiors that you would be interested in more challenging work? Sometimes, just having an honest chat with your boss could do wonders. I almost got a promotion today. Our Student Services head is leaving our campus and I asked for her position. My campus director told me she had thought of me for the position, but her director wanted someone more mature (age-wise). He said that, while I was a good candidate, Student Services required a person who has had a lot more life experience, so that the students feel comfortable sharing their problems with them. It kind of smells like bullshit, but it kind of doesn't as well. *shrug* Everyone else on staff said I'd be great at the job, so who knows. Another time, perhaps another place. I just appreciate that I was thought of.

Kingdom Hearts doesn't have random battles? Don't let that ruin it for you! XD Kingdom Hearts is an amazing game. Actually, Disney is about to put out a new game called "Epic Mickey", which has RPG elements in it. From what I've seen so far, it's going to be an amazing game, not just for kids. It has a really interesting story line and amazing graphics.
