  1. Holly is one of my most favorite female musicians ever. Her voice is so powerful the song "more" is a good example. I really like "ufo" and "water" from her CD stuff. They are both cool, kind of quirky songs.
  2. I have always like Sarh Mclachlan and I loved this video. That little boy near the end...heartbreaking.
  3. I've been a fan since Everything is Automatic and Apparitions. The first time I remember hearing MGB was driving in the car with my dad and apparitions came on and he turned it up and was like "I love this song". Ever since then I have been a huge fan.
  4. me too juanpe...except i'm a girl but you get the picture. As for PTD it would be awesome to hear it live but I seriously doubt it'll happen on this tour since they already have a set list and Matt's band probably doesn't even know how to play it (except Rich)
  5. Shit...oh well. At least I have it now. I just hope my cousin doesn't figure out that she overspent (I don't think she will, she's not an MG fan, although I don't know why). Now all I have to do is get lo-fi b-sides, which I am sure is really hard to get because it always seems like people are asking for it!
  6. I'm glad that this thread is here 'cause I was gonna start a new one but I'll just put my question here. Okay, this is my question: How hard is it to get Raygun? The story behind thisis that since I've never seen it in a record store I assumed it was hard to get, like lo-fi, but not as hard. So, my cousin ordered it for me off the internet for my birthday and I think she spent a lot of money and now she's so excited. I would feel really bad if she went to all this trouble when you can just walk into a store and buy it. With that said, this is an awesome CD and I love So Long Mrs. Smith. The harmonies = perfection, I just wish it was longer!
  7. "Rabbit in your Headlights" by UNKLE (Feat. Thom Yorke) I've only seen it once but I thought it was amazing and really sad.
  8. I used to have Mario Allstars which had all three original mario games and an allstar game. It kicked ass.
  9. 1) M Good v. M Trolley (hard choice for me on this one, but this just makes me laugh) 2) Fated 3) Near Fantastica 4) Hello Time Bomb 5) Avalanche 6) Empty Road
  10. I agree. I just bought a new guitar and the moment I picked it up and held it I just knew it was the one. You have to trust your instict on this kind of thing, but it also helps if you have bit of knowledge which it sounds like you do)
  11. Are you from Edmonton?
  12. Weapon Invasion 1 Born to Kill 21 Century Living Failing the Rorschach Test Lets get it On (I agree with everyone who says this was a very hard choice!)
  13. I don't think running over as soon as he get's off stage would be a good idea since he's probably really, really tired right after and just needs a break. But if you wait a little while by the backstage/backdoor area he'll probably come out. That's what I did last time and he came out and talked to everyone and signed their stuff.
  14. I agree with everyone that Matt Good definatly influenced my way of thinking in a lot of ways. In the past I was one of those people that thought that politics (especially in Canada) were boring and didn't have anything to do with me. Although I certainly didn't live in a "bubble" like alot of people my age do, I just thought that doing something such as oh say, voting wouldn't do any good because alot of the issues that are always being discussed didn't have anything to do with me. I've always cared about things such as human rights though, and it took me awhile to realize that alot of political things are interconnected. Anyway, this past election was the first time I ever voted and I must say I was strongly influenced to do so by Matt as a person, as well as his music. Its just like in 'Lullaby For a New World Order': Somebody gave you a choice And all you do is abuse it If god gave you a voice Then use it Now when I think about people who just throw their voices away because issues "don't have anything to do with them" and because they aren't directly affected by them it just scares me. I'm sure all the Canadians on here will agree that young people in our country take our freedom for granted so badly, its sad really. I wish there were more people like Matt who weren't afraid to speak up and say things that not everyone wants to hear. So, to sum up this very long post I just want to say that whether people agree with what Matt says or not he is a real role model and not people like Britney Spears, but that's another topic entirely.
  15. Not that it matters for me (I'm 22) but its good news for all the under 18ers in here. Is anyone else from Edmonton? So far I'm the only one I know of...I just bought my tickets and I am excited! (even though this'll be my third MG concert in as many months)
  16. Truffle Pigs Put Out Your Lights Workers Sing a Song of Mass Production We're So Heavy Enjoy The Silence Little Terror
  17. That is correct. She went solo. I've heard some of her stuff on her website and I kind of liked it, but then I heard nothing but badness for live performances and for her full-length album so we'll see.
  18. 1)Prime Time Deliverance 2)A Long Way Down 3)It's Been a While Since I Was Your Man 4)While We Were Hunting Rabbits 5)Look Happy, It's The End of The World 6)Flight Recorder From Viking 7 (Holly Mcnarland rocks!)
  19. I didn't really like it when I saw it back when it first came out but damn - those bird things were scary! I remember being afraid to turn off my lights that night because I thought they'd come and eat my face!
  20. This is probably my most favorite movie ever. There's just so much goodness in it, I love the end!
  21. I don't mind this song, I wouldn't buy their CD or anything - but it is kinda catchy. I like the line "its not always rainbows and butterflies, its compromise that moves us along" because its so true!
  22. I once read that Maynard James Keenan of tool/apc likes to hold back the lyrics for awhile when he releases new music because then the person listening to the song really listens instead of just reads along. Personally I like to just listen to a song without the lyrics at first, it gives me a different perspective. Then I like reading the lyrics afterward and then you I can be like "ah, I see".
  23. In 'Let's Get it On' when he says "our sycophantic replacements" I used to always laugh 'cause "sycophantic" sounds like "snickafuckit" which is a word my friends and I had made up a long time ago. Even though I knew that wasn't what he sang, I still thought it was funny.
  24. I highly doubt Matt is "trying" to be sexy because people who "try" to be sexy - aren't. As for him not wearing his glasses on the cover shot, when doing magazine spreads the photographers take a billion different pictures. I'm sure they had a bunch with his glasses on too, but the magazine gets to decide which picture goes on the cover. Whoever chose the pic may have thought Matt looks sexier without glasses, but its probably something he doesn't even think about. In fact I'm almost 100% sure he doesn't give a shit what he looks like.
  25. The last time I went and saw him my favorite moments were: 1) I agree about apparitions live - his voice sounds so amazing 2) When the FX for the beginning of near fantastica came on, I got so excited because I adore that song 3) In "Avalanche" when he sings aaaaaaaaavalanche. His voice sounds even better live then on the recording (and I didn't think that was possible
