I agree with you dan. Its something I would say so I can relate.
-
I would say either Near Fantastica, Apparitions or Avalanche (his voice sounds amazing!)

Okay, I'll go first (even though I have posted this before somewhere else, but I'll try to make this short). I met Matt after one of his recent Edmonton shows. All the fans were standing at the bottom of some steps at the Starlite room and then all of a sudden I looked up and Matt was at the top with his wife and some other people. He came and sat down right beside me and said "So, do you guys want me to sign some stuff?" I was like "Yes!" In a very high pitched voice because I was completely star-struck. So he signed my set list and I said thankyou, once again in a high-pitched, school-girl voice, and he said "You welcome, dear." And then I ran away because I was so excited and didn't know what else to say. The rest of the night I was in a daze because I couldn't beleive I had met MATTHEW GOOD! Best...night...ever!

I'm not quite sure of the actual point that I went "crazy" for MG. I think it was a gradual thing. I started by listening to Underdogs, I can't remember how old I was, but I can't believe there are some people on here who were listening to Beautiful midnight when they were 12! That's weird, but awesome - I don't think I was that cool when I was 12. Matt is the kind of musician who gets better everytime I hear him. Everytime I think I've become an even bigger fan I hear a song I heaven't listened to in awhile and I'm just in awe of how much I love his music and how perfect it is in every way! So ya, that's my story.

Its strange for me to hear people say that they listen to Matt's music to get away from the world, or at least his old music. Its just that its hard for me to relate to that because I'm the opposite. The music that I listen to doesn't help me to forget my problems, it actually encourages me to think about them. I find this helpful though because it helps me to put things into perspective and also often it inspires me to do something constructive about my own feelings (like write my own song). I just thought I'd give a different perspective on all this.

Oh, personal as in something that happened to you as opposed to your personal opinion, I understand. I like the soundtrack too but there are alot of other realy good songs on the show that didn't make the soundtrack and besides the soundtrack is only of the first 3 seasons. I want the soundtrack for the musical episode. Those songs kickass and are hilarious!

His name is James Marsters and he plays Spike. And Anton, the episode where no one talks is called "Hush". What is it that you hate so much about it Mouko? The honest truth is that even though I am a huge fan I can understand non-fans thinking it is stupid and not really getting the appeal of it, but I think its really well-written, very funny and aside from the demons, vamps side of things is very relatable to real life. Its one of those shows that gets better and better the more you watch it because there are so many in-jokes and references to other episodes as well as pop-culture.

I defintley agree with you on this. I just checked out all the official definitions of the word "heavy" and one of them was "dulled with weariness" and I think that fits the best in the context of the song. People who are not only unsure about their stance on things but maybe also worn down, tired and maybe even a little apathetic. "We don't know what we are, but we're tired of it".

Well, I don't really watch Sci-Fi other then Buffy and Angel and now they are both over...how am I going to quell my geeky science fiction appetite without any shows to watch? Oh and so I am not to far off topic I am trying to remember a line from the funniest show ever, Seinfield, something about Jerry started to cry and he says "What is this salty discharge?"
-
Hmmm, I don't know Starhunter. That wasn't a Whedon show though was it?
-
Well, I am always bringing this show up in other topics so I thought I would make a special thread just for it. This is by far my most favorite TV show ever and people always laugh at me when I tell them I watch it but its genius! So what do you guys think, any other hardcore Buffy fans here?
-
I heard that they want to do a Giles spin off called "Ripper". That'd be awesome. Also they are making a movie about Firefly called Serenity. I never watched Firefly but anything by Joss Whedon is perfection in my eyes and I love Nathan Fillion. He is from Edmonton! (I think)

Yes! Andrew is so funny (if that's what you are refering to - "The Hunter of the Vampyres") But Xander has so many classic, great lines from the early seasons: "Its snakealicious in here!"
-
I voted apparitions. I haven't seen it in a long time but from what I remember it captures Matt's twisted sense of humour quite well.
-
There are so many great lines from Buffy, though most people may not find them as amusing as I do. Spike: Is that why you came here? To pump me for information? Buffy: What else would I pump you for?...I really just said that didn't I?

I am The Walrus

I agree with the Neil Young fans, I grew up listening to him as well as Zeppelin (the greatest rock band of all time) Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac (I LOVE Stevie Nicks) and the Beatles too. -
My parents would never make me do something I didn't want to, but I almost wish they had sometimes. My dad taught me guitar when I was 13 but I stopped playing for a few years and I regret it. Well, not regret but if I had played all through my teens years I would have had a lot more practice and could be a female jimi hendrix by now (just kidding!)

No, not neccessarily. Think about the time it takes between when a song is written and the video is made for it. It could be years if its a song someone wrote and didn't record for awhile. The world changes, peoples ideas change and grow. Someone could write a song about something happening in their life and then when it comes time to make the video they might want to make it a more broad statement about the world. My sister wrote a song years ago called "Into Destruction". This was before the current political mess the world is in, but see how it could relate to the world now? Even though she had no idea at the time. What I'm trying to say is that sometimes I think videos can go in a different direction then what the song is saying because songs can be interpreted many ways, even by the artist, and a music video is an effective visual tool to get a message across.

Who cares if he was a dork anyway. He's brilliant and an amazing musician.

Thirteenth step is the next CD on my list. I go to the APC website everyday and listen to the songs that they have on there. So far I would have to agree that Thirteenth step is superior, but I can't give my final say until I hear the entire CD. -
I don't think it has anything to do with maturity, or him not wanting under-agers. I really just think that he just wants to play small club shows for now, and its probably easier to have them be 18/19+ (depending what province it is in) or maybe its not really his choice. You never know how these things work out. It must be very frustrating for you guys, but remeber he did say he was going to tour again and hopefully it will be in bigger venues for people of all ages.

"homosexuals fight for their faith"
loveisnotenough replied to insane_child's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
If I'm not mistaken the homosexuality in the story of Sodom and Gomorra (I don't know how to spell it either) has something to do with the men in the cities wanting to sleep with the angels that came to visit them. And do you know how this situation was remedied? The "righteous" people offered the men their virgin daughters instead! (yes I am christian, but sometimes the bible is very confusing) I don't understand how homosexuality is so bad, but giving up your vigin daughters - oh that's fine. What i'm trying to say is that many people treat homosexuality like its the worst and most disgusting thing that they can think of when there are so many other things in this world that people should be concerned with instead. -
I don't think he would ever want to be that directly invloved in politics. He seems like a simple, albeit extremely intelligent, type of fella. But its an interesting thought. I wonder what his platform would be?

Whoa, when did this happen. I was just there! Oh well, it looks cool and I do believe you are right about it being an admiration for NF, which is actually an admiration of Matt Good, so maybe the pills are an admiration of...himself? Think about that for awhile!!!

My video game guilty pleasure is Mario Cart...best game ever! And the funny thing is I kick ass at it when I'm drunk, even though I can't see straight. Strange.
