  1. you can order it from the publisher which is insomniac press, that's what i did
  2. I can't go see this movie because even the trailers scare me. I don't even watch them when they come on TV. I used to be fine with scary movies and then The Ring ruined everything for me. I'm sad that I can't go see it because I love Sarah Michelle Gellar (big Buffy fan)
  3. Haven't you ever seen Kiss the Girls?
  4. I was initially quite surprised that bush was re-elected. Call me naive but I couldn't help but think that there were enough Americans who'd wouldn't stand for Bush and his antics anymore. As I was watching the election coverage on CNN last night, everytime they showed that Bush had won another state my stomach sank lower until I finally accepted that this was really happening. I'm still in a bit of shock, but its times like these I remember how much I love Canada (not that its perfect but I love it all the same)
  5. I saw a news feature on much and at least a handful of musicians said that they were seriously considering moving to Canada.
  6. I have an acoustic piano version of 3am and its so beautiful which is weird cause I find the original one annoying.
  7. 1) My Out of Style 2) Suburbia
  8. I believe I have already participated in a thread such as this before but what the heck, I like to talk about instuments so here goes: Flute - on and off for about 10 years. I don't know what kind I have cause I stole an old one from my junior high school when they got new instruments. Piano - on and off for the same amount of time as above. I only took lessons for a year and then quit cause I don't like playing the songs in those lesson books. They're boring! Now I play when I'm writing songs. Guitar - I started when I was 13, then stopped because I was too busy with dancing, then started again when I moved away to go to college. I just got a new acoustic-electric. Its an Ibanez Talman but I don't have an amp yet so I just play it acoustic.
  9. Failing the Rorschach Test (in my personal top 5 faves) Prime Time Deliverance Weapon
  10. A lot of bars nowadays are pretty strict about these things, at least in Edmonton I know they are. If they even slightly doubt an ID they'll ask for another and alot of them have computers that they scan your liscense into...so I don't know if the fake ID thing will work. I agree that your best bet is to just phone them and see what they say.
  11. I agree with those who said "The Reason" by Uberstink. That song makes me want to poke my eyes out. Also, as I said in another post the "I like your pants around your feet" song by Nickleback makes me shudder. Besides the fact that its generic crap I find it offensive. Maybe I'm just being a raging feminist but that song is degrading towards women. It probably isn't meant to be taken that way but that's the way I take it!
  12. The Dixie chicks version was okay (nice harmonizing) but it paled in comparison to the greatness of Stevie Nicks (she is a goddess). I remember when the Smashing Pumpkins version came out I really liked it because I've always liked the Fleetwood Mac version and none of my friends liked it! They were like Fleetwood who? As for the above quote. Is the song you're talking about called "Never Going Back Again"? I agree about the guitar work. Lindsay Buckingham is the greatest guitarist ever (in my opinion)
  13. I love Neil Young! I grew up listening to him and all old stuff: Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Hendrix. I don't think I even realized newer "mainstream" music existed until I was in Junior High. (and I wish I never had realized it but then again, I never would never have ended up discovering Matt!)
  14. Good Charlotte and Simple Plan both suck hard but I voted Simple plan because all there songs sound exactly the same and are so insanley annoying. Creed was semi-okay when they first came out but they never really did it for me even then and they are done now (except that alterbridge sounds exactly the same minus scott stapp). Nickleback used to be good but now all there songs sound the same and they are so ridiculously overplayed. I miss the old nickleback. They used to play their old stuff on 'Red, White and New' in Edmonton and it was so good back then. Hello, 'Old Enough'? What happened Nickleback?! The "I like your pants around your feet" song is the worst song ever!
  15. Metric - kickass canadian band that nobody I know has ever heard of but I saw the singer from Billy Talent wearing their t-shirt on MuchMusic the other day.
  16. In my personal opinion MG is my absolute favorite but in terms of the "best band ever" as in which band played an integral part in the evolution of music I would agree that the Beatles are up there. I prefer Zeppelin and Pink Floyd , who were also extremely great bands. (but I still love Matt the most!)
  17. Its an affirmative on the pink stuff. I bought a gray zip up hoody with Matt Good written in pink on the front and my sister bought a pink boat-neck shirt with the Alert Status Red lyrics written on it. I'm not a huge fan of pink but I really liked the hoody and of course the girls' was pink. What is with people thinking all girls like pink!
  18. Good stuff. I like the chord progression on Cellar Door, when the strumming kicks in it sounds really cool. Your voice kind of reminds me of one of the singers from the band Stabilo on that song. Good job on the Matt Good cover too.
  19. While We Were Hunting Rabbits Avalanche The Future Is X-Rated
  20. Well, there's not too much to add because the review was very thorough but I just want to say The Rat Who Would Be King is the most amazing song ever and I almost puked because I was so excited that they played it. I also want to say that I hate it when people push there way to the front half way through the show when everyone else has been there all night, especially when all they do is stand there and yell out stupid comments like "kick it up a notch" after Blue Skies over Badlands...end of rant.
  21. I heard a band cover Everything is Automatic before and they were really good (obviously not as good as Matt but still very cool) I can't remember what they were called though...something to do with woody?
  22. I cannot believe he played The Rat Who Would Be King. I am hyperventilating now because the concert is tonight and if he plays it I am going to cry! I can't beleive I have to wait 6 mores hours until I get off work..I'll never make it. TRWWBK is by far my absolute favorite MG song and I never ever thought I would here it live so I'll pray he plays it tonight!
  23. That is exactly what I have been saying for years! My sister used to pretend she was "punk" and her and all of her friends were always so "misunderstood" with there "individuality", and yet they all freakin' dressed the same! Its the whole "let's all be different ...together!" mentality. Its weird how things like this go in circles. Back when punk was "alive" it was unique to act that way, dress that way, whatever but now its gotten to the point where everyone and there mom's think they are punk so its become mainstream therefore nullifying the exact meaning of what it used to be! I just shake my head at the world and wonder what people are going to come up with next.
  24. I actually really like this song even though I am not a huge fan of Sum 41. I was really surprised with the depth of the lyrics but the video is so stupid. Typical Sum 41 stuff. I wish they would have made a more inteliigent video to go along with the song but oh well.
  25. I have a few second fav's that change depending on my mood. They are: Radiohead, APC, Holly Mcnarland, Fiona Apple, Incubus, Pink Floyd, Led Zepp, Metric, Tragically Hip, Tegan and Sara...I feel like I'm forgetting some though. Maybe cause I'm so used to listing MG along with everything else!
