Not very impressed with MG's new version of "Cant get Shot...". The singing isn't up to par. Its still ok though. But i like the other version better expect for the poor audio quality.

if i lived in quebec i would have probably voted ADQ because the Liberals screwed them over & i wouldn't have interest in PQ's seperatism. Seems this was much of the reason ADQ did so well.

I've been catching episodes on and off of this show since the beginning, but have only caught bits & pieces. The actress who plays Starbuck annoys me to no end!! ARG!! Anyways, i watched most of the series finale. Even though half of it didn't make sense to me (since i haven't been keeping up with the series & i missed the 1st 20m of the episode haha) it was cool. This show is really confusing if you don't watch regularly. I don't know how the whole Baltar w/ the blonde storyline came out. I know she's a Cylon, & at the beginning she kept appearing in his dreams or something. Now she's a prisoner on the Galactica? Whatever man uhhh Star Trek: The Next Generation 4ever!!

finally saw this movie, was on TV on the weekend. Very cool throughout most of it. The twist ending was kinda weird though. Didn't know M. Night Shamamalsyanlyan directed this movie, oh him & his damn twists. The twist/revelation at the end came so quick it was hard to decipher what was going on. So what the hell is the deal with Samuel L. Jackson's character then? There were plans & newspaper clippings all over his wall. So did he devise all these accidents (like the train accident Bruce Willis was on) just to find this real-life "hero" he was looking for? To find a survivor with these super-powers? And was he REALLY criminally insane like the end says he was arrested for? WTF what a weird ending.

Hopefully not PQ, a referendum would suck. But thats democracy.

Obviously i don't think the CBC is like media in Iran or China. I also enjoy the CBC news & they make some good docs. What i'm saying is the potential for abuse is there. It would be very easy for some political corruption to slip into CBC news. It will probably never be like Iran or China obviously, but to think some CBC producers have never left something out in the news because it reflected bad on the political powers that be or as a "personal favor" is probably naive. Especially given the disgusting corruption under the Chretien gov't, and the long reigns in power some of our governments have had. (Cue Matt) What would be wrong if the CBC were an independant, publically funded station like PBS, & worked under similar guidelines for mostly Canadian content? I'd rather donate my money privately than have it run through the govt. Of course that can bring corruption/bias too but at least its not directly from the state. I guess its just the idea of govt-run news i don't like.

I think the money was more for the votes in the upcomming election. If you can win over Ontario and Quebec you have the federal election in the bag with our system. I'm not too sure their worried about Quebec leaving. yes exactly money for votes for upcoming quebec provincial election. Its basically Liberal Charest vs Parti Quebecois. Do the Cons even have a person running lol? The Quebec money will help Charest & federalist cause, because if the PQ wins guess what they'll call... i think u meant money 4 votes for federal election right? Thats another big reason, plus giving that money to Quebec got the Bloc on board w/ the budget so it cant be voted down.

its a yawn. It gives just a enough $$$ to everyone to say they've done something to help, but not enough to anything to actually solve any problems. ie: Some money for the environment, but nothing that will solve the problem or show global leadership. Some more money for families with children, but not much. etc. Oh yeah, and a shit load of money for Quebec in order to bribe them once again to go in the direction of not holding a referendum. I would imagine its quite hard to please everyone in a budget & there's never enough money to solve all of Canada's problems but i think they could have done better. Actually glad this budget is more to the left than the Cons would want & they are trying to kiss voters' asses...as they should be. Overall i'd say i'm somewhat satisfied with the Conservative minority gov't so far, but not overly pleased.

yeah even though its not technically a "movie", its production value are better than most & it certainly destroys anything else in the genre. I also really like Platoon, Apocalypse Now, & Tigerland.

Bias coming from the Government is a lot different than regular media bias from private media corps. Where & when does the line of bias step over into gov't spin-doctoring & indirect pressure from the gov't to report (or not report) the news in a certain way? What if the Bush admin had something like the CBC news during the last several years? Could look something like FOX News but much more subtle & possibly even more f'ed up. Still am astounded im the only person here who has some sort of problem with gov't run news. Hasn't anyone seen V For Vendetta, or pay attention to China & Iran etc.?
