  1. The Killers are overrated but I do enjoy the album. Snow Patrol are a bunch of yawners.
  2. Yeah, but buying a used car isn't currently illegal.
  3. Who is this question directed at? I don't think doing drugs is a victimless crime.
  4. But if you didn't buy the drugs, he wouldn't have the money. Maybe that's why it's illegal. You're still a part of the problem even if you don't think so.
  5. But is it still your right if the action that only affects you indirectly harms another person? An example could be having drugs for personal use is not a big deal. But if you bought them from some guy who uses the money to finance other sorts of illegal activites that do harm people, is that still okay? I know it's a big of a movie example but you get the idea.
  6. A lot of things would be really great if it weren't for people.
  7. Yes, why do you continue to post on the wrong forums?
  8. I also really hate the idea that you have to perfect to get into Heaven. But if you happen to fuck up, you can just apologise and it's another free ride to Heaven. This is life, no one's perfect, everyone fucks up. I don't think you should be scared into being a good person. Everyone has the right to choose how to live and how they want to handle situations. If you fuck up, then learn from it and move on. Maybe I'm looking at the extreme sense of it but I still don't like it.
  9. That's one of the best/funniest posts ever. It's perfect. Nice work.
  10. What there's a new album? Is it going to be good? Who's Uncle Jam? Is he producing it?
  11. I totally started this same thread a few weeks ago but no one was really into it. I'm sure it's still back there somewhere. But for me it was on CFOX that I got on cable radio in Kelowna. They were really pushing the songs from "Ghetto Astronauts" and I loved it. My first album was Underdogs right after "Everything Is Automatic" kicked ass.
  12. 1) Suburbia 2) Truffle Pigs 3) The Rat Who Would Be King 4) Strange Days 5) Lullaby For The New World Order
  13. My take on the bible is that it's a historical story. A fictional novel based on historical facts. My whole feeling with religion and the bible is that it was created to keep people scared and in line. It was an extra way of policing society by offering a divine explanation to things that couldn't be explained. And somehow it really stuck up until today. I'm not religous at all, and I am amazed that some people truly believe that god created and man and that there is a god. I tend to believe in the more scientific ideas for most things. I also have a real problem with the way that religion can discriminate. However, it's not all bad as there are many religous people who have taken it and become a better, more generous and caring person. I guess to each their own, just don't try to force religion on me or make me feel bad because I don't believe I god.
  14. Yes, yes it does.
  15. What does that mean? It sounds great to say.
  16. Didn't you just say the Pixies are overrated in another thread?
  17. I think to really understand the Pixies you had to be there when they first hit the music scene and started offering something more that wasn't there before. I wasn't into them at the time, but I do like them now.
  18. I think it's pretty funny. And in a totally heterosexual way, he is a very good looking man.
  19. Your questions were hypothetical, nothing asked here was really that intrusive. However I do agree that he'll let everyone know what he wants to and we shouldn't pry. Most people here seem pretty reasonable so I think it'll be okay. He is a very private person, and it's sometimes surprised me how much he has shared on his blog.
  20. Personally this doesn't really interest me either, but I don't see any harm in wanting to know more about a person. It was a pretty innocent question. Plus it's almost a year old. Who knows, maybe it was even started before Matt started his blog. Saladbowl desided to ressurect a few old threads yesterday so that's why this one is back.
  21. Yeah, you're right, I think an image is actually broader than I first thought. I can't really pinpoint Radiohead's image, but I think there's a certain way they appear to the viewing public, and whether it's intentional or not, it's still there. And I wouldn't really say Interpol of The Strokes have a gimmick, but more of a look. Wearing prison jumpsuits and masks, that's a gimmick. I also took a look at your sig. link and I think you'd be surprised at how much our musical tastes cross. Anyway, off to bed.
  22. I listen to fantastic music. And when I say image, I don't necessarily mean gimmick. The way The Stokres wear hip too cool for school clothers and have messy hair because they don't bathe. Or Interpol wearing suits or at least ties. Or Bono with his slicked back hair, sunglasses and black leather jacket. However, that's all clothing related. Maybe I need to rethink this. When I think of band like The Wallflowers of even Radiohead, I can't really think of a way to define their image, yet I'm sure they have one. Okay, it's late, I give up.
  23. Sorry, I don't mean to be aggressive. Just trying to prove my point.
  24. Is that a band?
  25. From what I heard it sounded like Matt was in some sort of debate on The Metro and everyone there ganged up on him. Although it was a debate, but it seemed like some of them just started doing stuff to piss him off. As far as the harrasment thing, I'm not sure if it was one person or not. That part was kind of vague. And I've never been a part of the Metro so this is just what I got out of the other posts.
