  2. Started Hunger Games trilogy, finished the first 2 books. They're not spectacular but I am enjoying them. Kind of like a brainless action movie.
  3. Finished A Dance With Dragons last night and now I hope I don't have to wait 5 years for the next book to come out. Will probably start The Hunger Games trilogy today, or Halting State by Charles Strauss. Haven't yet decided.
  4. Finished Mass Effect 3. Ending not what I expected, but i don't hate it like the rest of the internet appears to, other than the glaring holes. Slowly working on my second playthrough (pure renegade) and then after that I will do my pure paragon playthrough, and following that, Insanity difficulty. Only have 4 achievements left to get, and Insanity mode will be the last- have to learn the missions and who best to bring.
  5. I could see Matt playing Calgary Folk Fest again- Spirit of the West would fit in there and the Hip would be a huge draw as always. Hell, Tori Amos and Chumbawumba have played Folk Fest so it's possible. Like I said before, he will do another acoustic tour sooner or later. He has too much fun playing acoustically, and because he only had to pay a handful of people, it makes sense financially. Mostly it's the fun I imagine.
  6. We wouldn't have a complaints thread. Continuing with music references: What do you go home to?
  7. Drive. Reminds me of Let the Right One In, in the sense that it's a bit of a slow burn movie, punctuated with some extreme acts of violence. I really liked it though. Ryan Gosling definitely has some chops, as does Carey Mulligan, and I don't care what Shay says, I think Carey Mulligan is super cute.
  8. Playing ME3, obviously. Played about 8 hours of single player so far and am loving it, mostly. The combat is excellent and it's cool being able to add a couple of mods onto your weapons that not only give bonuses, but cause cosmetic changes as well. It is a nice touch. If there's one thing I have not really enjoyed so far, it's that of the returning ME2 characters I've run into, it almost feels like as they were just shoehorned into the plot just so you can see them for a few minutes. Other than that, loving it. So glad it's finally here.
  9. Mass Effect 3 tomorrow! Too bad I work at 5pm and therefore can't spend the whole day playing it.
  10. Arkham City (and Asylum) are both fantastic. Probably my only gripe with City is that the whole time I kind of felt like the game was going to move out of Arkham and more into Gotham, so I was a little disappointed by that. Overall though, excellent game.
  11. Mass Effect is basically going to eat up my life once it comes out.
  12. That's okay- I likely won't touch multi until I am done a SP playthrough, and by that time, servers should be fixed and ready to go. :)
  13. I really like War of the Worlds, and just remember to blame HG Wells for the ending, as he wrote the book. The one thing I dislike most about War of the Worlds is the Morgan Freeman narrating at the start and end. I find it totally unnecessary.
  14. I haven't had any issues with the ME3 multiplayer demo so far. I am excited for the game to come out. I have spent many hours playing the first 2,
  15. A Dance With Dragons.
  16. I am so glad I got my copy on ebay for $40 six years ago.
  17. 3/10 based solely on the fact his last name is hilarious. Dan Savage
  18. I am pretty excited for season 2, especially now that I'm just about done the 4th book, so have a pretty good idea about who everyone is and how they're related and who they fly their banners for and all that stuff. Random factoid- I guy a work with used to live in the UK and his friend plays Hodor on the show. He's apparently going to California for a convention this summer, and then possibly up to Vancouver. I might get to meet Hodor!
  19. I asked Matt when he was doing the M+ things and posting the demos why We Are a Place didn't make the cut- it basically comes down to him writing Non Populus after he wrote WAAP and thinking it's a better song.
  20. Fall Asleep equals We Are a Place minus vocals.
  21. Matt enjoys touring acoustically, it'll happen again.
  22. Keep the Customer Satisfied is a Simon and Garfunkel song. He played it during the Hospital Music acoustic tour.
  23. I always get jealous when I see Protest Song at shows I missed. Oh well.
  24. Yep, just the two. I am bummed I won't be able to try to get to the show tomorrow. I'd want to go with Shay but she has homework and early school on Friday. Can't spend hours waiting outside and can't see a show that starts at 10. Oh well.
  25. The Pixies tune he played was "Motorway to Rosewell" from Trompe le Monde.
