Okay, ipecac is a substance that induces vomiting. The guy drinks a tiny bit of the stuff, and vomits after a little while. After he's done vomiting, the "host" offers him another five hundred bucks to lick the stuff up. At the end all you see is the guy saying "What the hell", he starts leaning over (as if to lick the stuff up) and then the film ends.

The problem with your post is that it does not involve your godfather owning a landscaping business. Approach him and ask if he needs any help dealing with clients that won't pay up (and believe me, everyone in construction or contracting has had a few clients like that), then offer to take them out, empty out their assets and take a small percentage of the money owed. Simple.

To me, it depends on what "licking it up" entails. If he actually wants me to consume a sizable portion of the vomit, then no. But just licking it, sure. It's already inside your mouth anyways.

For the record, the LRT line in Toronto is a fucking joke. I'm convinced it was an experiment by the provincial government to take a giant crap on Toronto and leave it there for 25 years. The subway or streetcar is the only decent way to get around town, and the subway system is pretty much shit unless you're travelling in the downtown core. Also, in general, I love driving, so I'll have to go with that.

Wow, what a shitty poll. For me, it's subway/streetcar. I generally hate buses, but subways and streetcars are very smooth to ride on, and efficient. Environmentally responsible, you could say.

Absolutely. Although I like the idea of living in bliss after death, it cheapens the meaning of life. "Eternity" means living millions and millions of years only to discover you have millions and millions more years to live. I don't think people think through that ramification when deciding in their choice of afterlife.

See, I hate to be a dick, but this is where the scientist in me kicks in: Global warming and the ensuing effects are not caused by the Earth, they have been caused by humans. Every effect of human activity can be broken down and quantized without the need to account for the Earth not liking us. How can the Earth be alive, and what's the point of stating that it's alive?

I once took candy from a stranger on a bus. Actually, they were cough drops. I was going home sick from school and it was winter and several buses had broken down leading to the two of us waiting a long time for the bus to come.

Public Transit only blows chunks if you don't live near train/subway lines, like I do. If you live/work/go to school along the subway, it kicks ass.

Lauren, this past school year there was just one serious incident on the TTC, and that was a strike. The only other thing that came close was a temporary shutdown of one of the subway lines that didn't last until 8:00 AM. Compare that to the living hell that traffic is during a winter storm. I can guarantee you every two weeks from December to March Meg will face a day of hellish traffic. I don't mean to sound condescending here, but Meg does not come across as the driving type. You have to be a pretty damn good driver (something anybody our age is definitely not) to safely navigate empty snowy roads - try adding a few thousand cars all trying to get to the same place as you. So, think about it. One day of not getting into school vs. several days of extremely dangerous driving that will delay you to the point that you may as well not go there in the first place. I'm being entirely serious here. I see no reason why Meg shouldn't just take the GO Train / TTC to school. OCAD is right in the heart of downtown Toronto where there is plenty of subway/streetcar service, you can get from Hamilton to Union Station way faster on the Go Train than you could ever hope by car, it's way cheaper, and it's much safer.

Painless, oblivious non-existence doesn't seem so bad.

I kind of disagree with protesting at funerals in general. Here's a good rule: If you decide to protest anyone's funeral, you waive your right to not have your ass kicked.
