I just finished playing Heavy Rain and I can honestly say it was one of my favorite gaming experiences.

I haven't heard any of these demos, you guys are just making me more intrigued. I'm a huge fan of the Smashing Pumpkins, a band that pretty much changed their sound through every era (album) in their first 12 years. That said, I appreciate versatility and the ability to "change it up" so I'm looking forward to hearing this new direction from Matt Good. I do know that he got around to using horns and stuff, so that would be cool. I wonder if he'd have a bigger tour budget to include more instruments. My guess is at least a keyboardist.

The fact that everything was previewed in M+ was good for me because since I didn't buy a membership I didn't spoil the album to this point. It's what I've been trying to do for the last few albums and failed at. I haven't had a Matt Good musical surprise since, well, Rooms and WLR&RR. Vancouver was great but it wasn't a surprise by that point. This will be.

Non Populus, by title, definitely sounds like a Matt Good song. I know this will be his last album for a while. I know he says he'll go the route of shorter releases going forward, but we'll see. At any rate I certainly hope that he tours both Canada and the U.S. again. New York treated him well last time out...except for that guy that belched really loud during Avalanche. Everything else was incredible though. What a great show that was.

Well that's pretty big news!

Just saw Joe Satriani a couple of weeks ago at Best Buy Theater in Times Square and it was certainly epic. He is amazing. He opened up with Ice 9, which is a song that reminds me of my childhood. My dad would play the album "Surfing With The Alien" all the time when I was a kid, so Ice 9 and other classics really got me excited. Great show.

I downloaded Age of Adz tonight. I'll listen to it soon. I can't even pretend to give a shit about Kanye West though.
